- Based on his a true story, THE RIDER stars breakout Brady Jandreau as a once rising star of the rodeo circuit warned that his competition days are over after a tragic riding accident. Back home, Brady finds himself wondering what he has to live for when he can no longer do what gives him a sense of purpose: to ride and compete. In an attempt to regain control of his fate, Brady undertakes a search for new identity and tries to redefine his idea of what it means to be a man in the heartland of America.

That fact that this is a true story played by the people it is about, is truly a masterpiece. It haunts you long after you are done watching.
The Rider should have won Oscar Best Picture two years ago. One of the most heartfelt beautiful films I have ever witnessed. So raw and brilliant. Chloe Zhao will finally get her recognition in Nomadland.
But rider seems to b much better film not that mcdormand wasn’t excellent here is to woke times

Probably one of the greatest movies I have seen in my life. It felt so real, it was so surreal, I instantly had a connection with the lead, the struggle to hold on to a dream or to let go of the dream, both has a cost, but what are you willing to give up for? Congratulations to everyone involved. This movie is permanently etched to my heart.

One of the greatest movies I have ever had the privilege of viewing. I found out tonight it won the National Society of Film Critics choice for best picture so had to watch the trailer again. Truly a cinematic masterpiece and so heart-felt. The breath-taking South Dakota sky-line with all of it's mysteries, and with all of the actors who had never acted before, playing themselves, and the cinematic poetry of this visual masterpiece. Heart-breaking, yet extremely heart-warming. This film will stay with you for a long time, if not forever.

Saw this today-Excellent movie. This will be an Oscar nominee. Beautifully filmed with fine performances. So many scenes will make you want to cry. The movie is about so many things. Anyone with a heart can relate to it. Do go see it.

The trailer makes it look like a really low quality, low budget movie? It seems like they could do a much better job on the trailer, considering that the reviews say it's an epic movie!
One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Amazing photography. Incredible story of friendship, too. And Brady rides his horse like he's flying.
This film is a rare gift, everyone needs to see it!

This character represents big number of today's Youth. Sad helpless yet determined . Iam sure you will cry after this not bevoise because of his story but you will relate to it. I can't believe the Oscars dont recognize stories like this

Man, it's been a long time since I cried this hard in a movie. Thank you Chloe Zhao! Best movie of 2018 for sure!
I think a lot of people will discover Zhao because she is now part of the Marvel universe. I know because I did, and Im so happy to have watched this film to get to know about her style.
The film is spectacular. Jandreau's best acting efforts were very stellar in my opinion, and Zhao painted this very picturesque story that's still grounded in humanity.
The BEST Movie I've seen in awhile!!! I'm picky too. I just like horses. Just a random pick from Redbox.( My oldest son( almost 17) is on the Spectrum, so it was crazy relatable . I will for SURE be purchasing it for our home collection.

I saw this movie a while back. It has really stayed with me- authentic, sparse, visually stunning and profound. It's a long time since l watched a movie that was so special. Recommend it highly.

The budget of this film is just 80000 dollars . And director is a chinese girl called zhao ting . It’s her 2nd film and Story is about a cowboy from America . What a combination but beautifully done . Because of this film . She got attention from marvel . So her next film is The eternals with Angelina Jolie. Good luck to her !

Took a chance with this, hadn’t heard anything before but decided to watch it on a whim, alone in a cinema on my 21st birthday - and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I study film and philosophy at university, but this is one of the few films I think I’ve ever understood.

order it buy it or rent it. its a beautiful movie that is totally engrossing. we need more serious movies with gripping stories like this with really wonderful 'actors'. these people in the movie arent really professional actors & yet they were as good or better than alot of hollywood ones.
