He was just being himself, that's the key to this film that makes it a great movie the realism.

mark kiernan that’s the point, he was portraying himself. That means the head injury was real. If you know about traumatic brain injuries, you should know that emotional outbursts and moods swings are common for a year or two after. What most don’t know is that they began filming Brady even BEFORE the accident. (The director met him while researching a different film and was in awe of his horsemanship skills. They were going to do a movie with him around that.)
It took more work for him to accurately convey and control his emotions than it would for most actors. So, with that considered, his performance was beautiful.

This movie is spectacular. Honest. True. The West is still alive. Horses are love and humans are Lords. All under God. Everyone that made this movie is an artist. It was a privilege to watch this moment of film. Thank you. Thank you so very much.

OMG I was living in Fargo at the time going to college at NDSU and I remember people talking about his ride and what happened. So interesting that they made a movie about him.

Amazing. Victory snatched out of the jaws of defeat in every way. Continuing to live after injury and recovery from a catastrophic hurt. Beautiful.

Why should brain surgeons waste their precious skills on young men who go out and do stupid things - and then do them again? Its spitting in the face of those who operated on him - and their doctor teachers. victims of real accidents who look after their bodies should get priority over sports players.

Because some young men have passion for what they do

That man was not a waste. Your comment makes me sick. Hope no surgeons ever have to "waste" their time saving you or one of your family members. Asshole

It takes courage to do what you love in this world and to weather the consequences. Judging from your comment, I gather you are not capable of doing either of the later due to a huge lack of the former.
