Thank you for the kind words. Currently running them through our benchmarks ready for the review. Hoping to get the 9300 up tonight then the 2in1 up tomorrow
No offence taken :) Yes, we only started the channel 2 months ago but have really enjoyed it. Ordered these on launch day so that we could hopefully get a review early for once!
@@MashITTech keep on doing good stuff. One question though. I’ve heard a lot of people say that the 9300 had a few bugs such as brightness keys not working and power profiles not doing anything. Does the 9310 have any of those? Thanks.
Are you sure the keyboard feels the same as the clamshell, since one is maglev and the other is full depth? Also, how do the screens compare, is the clamshell matt screen fuzzier (less clear on small font text etc) than the 2 in 1? Thanks
OK, I just tested the keyboards side by side as I was surprised when I first started using it. They both feel like they have the same depth of travel and feel very similar. There is just a slight noise difference between the two models. You honestly have to put the side by side to even notice this. I was honestly expecting the keyboard to be rubbish on this 2in1 after previous maglev models. Just compared the screens side by side and to my eyes they both looks as crisp. no fuzziness on the matt screen. Also they had very slightly different panels (SHP14f9 and SHP14f7). Once I have done the reviews I will do a side by side comparison video of the two models.
@@MashITTech Brilliant thanks. That's just made things difficult again since my concerns on both appear not to be issue. For me it got down to FHD non-touch clamshell with the better keyboard and expandability vs FHD touch 2 in 1 with no expandability but a clearer screen plus touch. Unfortunately, Australia never sells the FHD Touch clamshell, it's always 4k and my current 3270 4k lasts about 3 hours on battery which I want to get away from. We also can't get an FHD 2 in 1 with 1TB which would save me carrying around an external drive.
Yes our 2in1 and 9310 arrived yesterday. Currently running benchmarks for them. Sorry to hear it’s so slow for you, I thought dell were selling them everywhere already. We ordered on 1st of October launch day
@@MashITTech I didn't know about them till 6th Oct and even then that day the Dell Australia site only had it half advertised, as there was only one path of clicks to get to it. I only requested the 2-in-1 to review, XPS isn't something I would normally review anyway. I only requested to have a little taste of that 11th Gen Intel. Also one day(for you)/night(for me) we should do a collaboration together.
Hi good job i like your reviews. Is it a dead pixel to the upper left ? i wonder because i orderer the 2n1 9310 and it will be at home on monday. On reddit people had dead pixel too how is it possible at the price and the hight level xps segment ?...
@@MashITTech oh ! in your video its seems to be 2 dead pixels on the left close to the "ms edge" shortcut...i'm fine too that its just dust :) Wil be happy to read your review. Thanks.
Hi, so im starting school soon and im deciding between whether to get the 9310 or 9310 2 in 1. Any thoughts? As i need it for video editing. Im also considering maybe the xps 15
After the individual reviews I will be doing a comparison between the 2 13” models. The 15” is a lot more powerful but also much bigger and heavier. I will test video editing on the 13” but I suspect 1080p editing will fly on these
@@MashITTech my 9310 delivery date isn’t for another 2 weeks, I’m hoping the heat isn’t unbearably scorching as with such a slim laptop I am expecting it to run a bit warm, was this during light or heavy use?
It was only the underside and it wasn’t scorching just hot. This was with heavy use installing a ton of windows updates. Also if you are going to be using it on your lap and you see more bothered about temps just put it on cool mode, it will limit performance a bit but stay cool.
You mentioned Gary being a big surface pro user. Who is Gary? Haha. I have lots of questions regarding 2-in-1 since I will be primarily using in tablet mode. I want to know things such as the thermals in tablet mode (since I am assuming the ventilation is now blocked) Thank you in advance!!
Gary is the silent half of mash it! I am actually letting him have a new machine as his surface pro 4 is really struggling with our software 😂 He is the arty one and any questions regarding drawing, photoshop tablet use he can answer for you
Thanks, we are having a break today as we worked solidly for 3 days to get these reviews out asap , but will hopefully be back with more content tomorrow or Monday
Greetings from Down Under ... just ordered one on 24/11 for my youngest daughter and it has arrived today (03/12). I have unboxed it but haven't turned it on yet ... will wait until I watch the video on how to set it up.
Hey mate, I am jealous of you today, bet you have sunshine there :) Its pouring as usual here. Just plug the USBc power in and turn it on, they make it so easy these days, just follow the prompts. Any questions just fire away and I will do my best to answer. PS. you have a very lucky daughter, hope she enjoys it
@@MashITTech... thanks mate. My daughter will start high school in January so she needs a laptop. If we buy one from school then she'll get a Microsoft Surface Pro 7. I might as well get this one so it will last for at least 6 years. BTW, the one I bought is of 1920x1200 resolution ... this isn't the 4K isn't it?
No, I reviewed the 1200p like you have as I think 4K is a bit over kill at 13”. The 1200p is an amazing screen still and gives good battery life. I compared the surface pro 7 vs this laptop in another video and this destroyed it with regards to performance.
@@MashITTech ... totally agreed. The 1200p is more than enough and the battery life is really important as she will use it at school from 9am to 3pm. Thanks so much for your excellent reviews.
There is slight coil whine on this model but none on the 9300. the coil whine is slight though so not bothersome. No problems with the killer card so far, its been really stable.
i dont think its fans sounds :( its more like old issue that dell used to have. i thought Dell already fixed this problem. the crazy buzzing noises... kind disappointed
9310 2-in-1 processor runs at 10 watts less TDP, I think. The 9300 2-in-1 did (vs 9300), so I assume this is the same. Might be why it's not burning hot.
Dell has lost their way. I have this laptop of the same vintage the described here, supposedly a flagship unit. I would stay away from it. I had major trouble with it as did many other buyers of the 9310 (dangerous overheating...check the web, loosing files, etc.). Terrible experience with Dell (couldn't get the parts to repair despite having Pro Plus warranty). After escalating to 2 management levels above the Tech Support person, finally, they sent me a refurb replacement. No more Dell for me.
I've been waiting this video.... great review... Waiting for next deeper review.

I am looking to get the spectre soon. Just got the new Macs to look at first
