I just got my first treatment and it's not pain free and not "go back to work" or "no downtime" as it's being marketed. The procedure itself is not bad, but you have a protocol you have to follow after like stay out of the sun for 2 days, don't bend over for 24 hours, no exercise for 48 hours, don't wash your hair for 24 hours and sleep at a 45 degree angle for the 1st two nights (the worst part). After all the poking on your scalp, you won't feel like doing anything anyways as you'll have headaches and discomfort. I'm on day 4 and I'm still recovering feeling groggy and slight pain. Also, your scalp is going to feel tight. I actually dread doing this 2 more times to complete the cycle. I would suggest doing this on a Friday or when you have a couple days off from work so you don't have to deal with anybody.
Update?
@@ahmadsalameen8065 unfortunately it hasn’t done anything.
@@heybrowhatup thanks for sharing man. Hope it gets better for you.
I like the way the doctor described it the treatment, if you’re completely bald forget about it but if you experience some thinning it could work. It works better for women than it does for men. Got it
Very honest doc, good answers
I completed two sessions. I am seeing improvement but not like crazy improvement. The treatment is painless. The pain is very easily tolerable. And shedding is a lot less. I am doing Microneedling and minoxidil with prp . So far not a very bad experience. Like most people say if you grew your hairs back by prp its temporary. If you maintain is regularly and took a prp session every year your hair will remain as usual. I have seen some people who saw great results. There is a lot of chance it may work . Give it a shot . If it didn't work just shave it off. Don't worry about the feature. Stay strong. Life will become better
I need your doctor then. That was the most god awful thing I have ever experienced
Hi brother. Could you give some more practical details. Like
For instance, I guess one is not supposed to wash their hair after procedure, but for how long - can you wash it the next day, the day after tomorrow or?
I also suppose your scalp must be sore after that - how long does recovery take?
And finally, since you also do Minoxidil, how do you combine both, do you take a break from it after PRP and for how long?
@@afriendlyone after the session you can wash and start applying Mixoxi dil after 24 hrs. for me paid and soreness remains for 4 to 5 hrs after the procedure. Managing both monoxidil and application of oil on hair is a problem. Prp treatment is nothing you can attend the sessions very comfortably. After applying monoxidil you will start to have dried particles of monoxidil in your scalp since it has alcohol. You have to wash regularly. Yes managing all the medication is the only problem.
@@arun_venkatesh_r Thank you. I see they also have Minoxidil as foam, have you tried that?
@@afriendlyone is that so?
As someone who has done PRP and kept it as an ongoing treatment, I can say that it's definitely not painless. The practice I go to, does not numb your forehead and it hurts like a bitch. I do see good results though!
How long have you been doing it for?
Why don't they numb your forehead if its painful for you?
Hey for those that have daily shredding does your scalp itch? If it does then you might have some type of skin condition like dermatitis or psoriasis. Solve the scalp inflammation first once the scalp is healthy and inflammation is gone then do the PRP or whatever treatment your doing
I did my first session of PRP about 3 weeks ago. the pain was super tolerable for me. believe it or not I had more discomfort from the drawing of the blood than the treatment itself :). in this 3 week I have realised that the overall quality of my hair has improved drastically. I'm not shedding a lot but there is some normal shedding I believe. I'm also taking finasteride alongside treatment. my next appointment is in 10 days. hope I see regrowth after completing all 3 sessions.
Keep us updated I'm looking to get y 1st session this Friday
Normally how pain tolerant are you?
I just had my PRP done today. The pain was tolerable. I hope to see results in 3 months
Hi guys I’m writing this as a follow up. So almost 6 months has passed and I’ve completed all 3 sessions. Sadly the improvement wasn’t as extraordinary as I thought they’d be. However I did see a little re growth on my hairline. I’ll just keep taking my finasteride and hope for the best!
@@sepehrtmsy how’s your progress now bro? Hope all went well. What is your overall analysis of it now?
I had a consultation today for PRP and the lady was very honest about her opinion and also showed me some pictures of people who had it done from her and after seeing the pictures I was not satisfy as what I saw in the pictures was a woman had some hair and some was missing from front to middle and one person had bold patch with some thin hair and she told me that was after 6 treatment results so you do get area of your head covered with your own hair and some not.
@RealSelf I have done a direct hair implantation procedure for the front/top and crown in April 2023. The results are already showing so I'm happy. I was also thinking of doing a PRP on 1st August. Do I really need it. My procedure was really painful and lost a lot of blood. I hate needles. Do I really need PRP because I've already also ordered the minoxidil + finasteride spray.
Did you get PRP? How are your hair transplant results now?
I got a hair transplant and they suggested PRP but I don't know if it's worth it. I already spent thousands on the hair transplant
@@JohnSmith-pg9ns well I was advised on the same but I honestly dod not go through with PRP which is also expensive but I didn't get it because I remembered the pain of the procedure and did not want another needle on my head ever again. The nurse told me to at least get 1 PRP per month for 3 months and that they use a numbing cream before it and that it would help prevent future hair loss but I still won't get it.
@@naZ11911 yes the hair transplant was painful as hell. But also the PRP where I live is almost as expensive as a full hair transplant so I don't know
I just had my first PRP session today. The pain was tolerable and felt more like getting a tatoo on my head. I hope to see results within 3-4 months
How are the results?
Results??
Im glad I had my prp done before reading the comments 😅
I had it done 2 weeks ago while doing my Hair transplant in London.
To be honest my haid was already under anesthesia so I didn't really feel the pain.
The whole thing takes up to 30 min.
My scond session will be in 3 weeks time then last one 6 weeks after that.
Wait...was this guy full head of hair a good candidate? What can we expect the ones that really need this treatment?
he might have male pattern which would show at the crown, not on a frontal view; he also has visible recession at the forehead in my amateur opinion.
I don’t have shedding anymore; however, my patch has not grown a single inch in 4 years. Would PRP help stagnant growth?
I'm dealing with the same issues mines probably been as long as 4-6 years
How did you stop the shedding?
@@aortizandrew1Finasteride
Can prp be combined with Rogain??
Yes, PRP isn’t medication, Rogan is, which is better, because it’s proven do work medically, PRP will only work as well as your health and blood health. If you’re unhealthy and over weight, PRP wouldn’t do much for you, and if you have aggressive hair loss/ male pattern baldness, it wouldn’t work for you
Is this good for a receding hairline?
Yes.
Received 2 treatments, did not see any improvement. It hurts like hell😂 not for me...
Does it work on healthy hair, let’s say you just want to boost hair growth?
Yes
yes. go some place that uses the U225 PRP Gun. its far less painful. I didnt even need the numbing agent when the gun was used.
I had 5 sessions now unfortunately there is no result and my hair still falling
Try viviscal. My hair stopped shedding in two weeks! IT WORKS!
Man idk about you guys but the pain was a 7out of 10 I don't have any tattoos but I still wanna say this hurts more.
Exactly!!!!
@@cinemastudios9836 you got yours done too??
@@aortizandrew1 yep
@@cinemastudios9836 it hurt🤕
It was ridiculously painful. Just got the first one I’m debating even going back it hurts that bad but I didn’t do any numbing treatment.
My question is : how can you maintain your hair after PRP or hair transplant?
I just had my first PRP session today. I was told to use Minoxidil and given a prescription. Overall i was told to continue for more sessions every other month
@@Robd07id say continue with prp but definitely know what youre doing when it comes to minoxidil, once you stop it all the growth that was caused from minoxidil will fall out, your hair will depend on it. I personally dont mind and use it, but not everyone’s aware of this
The first year you need about 3 or 4 PRP sessions. Then a follow up once every 8 months or so... AFter a hair transplant finestrade and minoxidil is usually your best bet. If you dont want the sexual side effects like ED and depression from finestrade than minixodil will help too
You neglected to say that you might develop scar tissue on the injection site which can't be good for hair growth.
Id say the scar tissue from these injections would be mitigated heavily due to the PRP being injected seconds after penetration. One could even wonder if someone had a laceration and had an instant PRP injection after if it'd even leave scars.
I bought a 10 session package. Had the first 6 done once every 3 weeks then quarterly there after. Up to my 9th session now and won't bother going to my last as I have not seen any improvement over the course of a year. Hair has continued to thin out.
Sorry to hear that,, I'm on my 6th now and next month will be my 7th. But I'm not even sure if I need to go back because my hair is already thick right now. I'm always asked if I'm wearing a wig. Just imagine that.
@@philam297 If you don't continue with maintenance forever, you will lose it all. Its a bit like Minoxidil.
@@philam297what was the cause of your hair shedding before prp ??
@@philam297i just did my first session today. Im hoping to see results within 3-4 months
Hello, I got PRP 12 months ago and my hairloss is a lot worse than before at a dermatologist. It helped only after 3 months for 2 months (thickened hair) and then everything fell out. Even my freshly transplanted hair fell although I have no donor minaturization! I am way worse off than before! What can I do? I get strong side effects from Finasteride, Minoxidil, RU, CB and Bimaroprost
Do you have scalp inflammation like itchiness and dandruff?
Isyour hair falling out because of prp or what?
its normal for transplanted hair to fall out, you won't see the true results until after a year.
Olumiant!
You could try Seranoa capsules/tablets. They are dried form of the Seranoa plant/fruit (saw palmetto, or seranoa repens).
Some hair loss clinics advocate use of seranoa instead of Finesteride.
It’s not permanent, that’s the thing.
nothing is except a hair transplant unfortunately.
@@WarloyJenkins and even that needs to be supported by hormone suppressors
@@tomka19r70 Not exactly, the hairs that are transplanted are permanent even without hormone suppression. However, the hairs that were not transplanted behind the transplanted hairs will still be susceptible to balding.
Oh you are so wrong.. it is indeed permanent!! The transplant isn't. Some trans plant still falls off. I've seen it!!
@@philam297I've heard successful hair transplants can be rejected by the body years later. But i don't know any more than this on the matter
PRP works if you use finasteride and Rogaine and Biotin 10000. At least for me.
Rosemary oil works just as good as rogaine and melatonin(oral and topical) works better than rogaine. Dr dray made videos on both of those
prp isnt really worth it. did 4 treatments and results were alright. saw better results doing rosemary oil mixture for 6 months.
How many days a week did you apply the rosemary oil?
For me the whole thing took over an hour and was the most god awful pain I have ever experienced. It’s a 5-10min for blood draw, 30 mins just for them to extract the Stuff from your blood, and maybe 10-15mins for the treatment itself. Plus or minus ten mins to clean up and get checked in
How is the result??
But do you find regular blood tests that take less than a minute also traumatic? Just some people feel more pain than others if they are anxious already, as blood drawing shouldn't hurt, just the initial scratch as the needle goes in, but if you're in pain for 5-10 mins during the blood draw, the person doing it is not doing it right!
Where are the RCT's that show this even works? Snake oil perhaps
Prp made my hair so much worse
What happen
Please guide me I have lot of hair but my hair shedding before 6 month can I take PRP or no
How?
Going through the same. Has it gotten better for you?
@@lowlos2426 how did it make your hair worse?
Useless treatment why would you endure a lot of pain from injections and possibility of skin scarring from multiple PRP sessions. It is not Permenant! And it doesn’t work all the time. Topical Minoxidil away better and cheaper
and what is permanent in your opinion? everything is good in a battle against baldness
a wig is the only permanent sollution, because even transplanted hair needs to be maintained with drugs if you wanna keep it
@@tomka19r70 thats not true transplanted hair are permanent and don’t require any medication
Monoxidil worked pretty well for me for the first few years. But my hair started thinning more noticeably in the last 2 or 3 years.
This is great for a lot of guys out there but the sad thing is, this doesn't work to everyone. I was ready to give up 2 yrs ago and just shave my head because my hair was really thin you can already see my scalp. I was about to get a hair transplant but it's so expensive so I tried prp treatment instead with minoxidil and finasteride as per doctor's advice. about a year and a half later,,the result is unbelievable it's Iike I have my hair back when I was in my 20s. But I also see other patients that already went thru their 10th session but still not working for them. It really brought me back a lot of confidence.
How is your results now?
@@prabashwara16 hair is still thick and strong
@@philam297did you gain new hair back? Or is it still falling?
@@prabashwara16 gained a lot.. the receding frontal are just grew back. Just think of this, before my scalp is visible and after 7or8 months my friend accuses me of wearing a wig. Thats how thick it grew! The hair falling is very mininal.
