I don’t understand why celebrities wouldn’t just admit to it. There’s no shame in doing things to help you look and feel your best.
Scandals probably
@@ahmet6144 hair and baldness on celebrities is much more heavier compared to steroid use
@@rdu239 hair loss effects 1/4 of men so yeah I agree there's a lot more who are balding than people who use steroids. I think 1-5% of the population would use steroids
Because people judge you for having surgeries lol, that's why.
You gain nothing by being honest, it's actually smart to lie about it.
What does it matter if they admit it? Seems like the public needs a 'feel good' to relate.
“My approach is a little different, a little more scientific…“. And that’s why we love watching your videos! No BS.
Yupp, we love you Dr Graham 😭😭😭
My suspicion though is that he DID get a BS before getting an MD. 🤣

@unhurte8779 Its not a hair transplant when there's pictures of him being bald 3 years ago. The man is rich im sure they are buzz cut hair systems.
28 years old and started noticing some thinning and hairline recession. I used to say I didn't care if I went bald, since every male in my family is. But seeing it start to recede really sucks! I was panicking until I discovered your videos, it makes me feel much better knowing I have some options. Honestly I wouldn't be embarrassed about getting a hair transplant at all. You're the best! You give me hope!
I've been balding since 19 (I'm 22 now and it has gotten very bad I'm not kidding Its not in my head many people have commented on how sparse it has become and I would definitely end up looking like a monk before age 25) wish I'd seen him earlier. I'm currently on finasteride 1mg daily thanks to one of his videos dispelling my previous fears about the drug. I'll be getting a hair transplant in the next few years but will be dermarolling and trying to recover my lost hair naturally as much as possible first.
I recommend you start finasteride too if you haven't done so already.
I understand your feelings about not caring too, I am currently completely shaven rocking that bald look but I don't want to rock it until I'm in my 30s 😂
Oh god just give me a few years haha
Nah all jokes aside anyone reading this don't worry about your hair too much. As long as you have your health and your friends/family you'll be the happiest man alive :)
I'm sorry but getting a transplant without the right genetics is useless. Plus you have to do it over and over.
@@garyhoffman503 what does genetics have to do with getting a hair transplant? Everybody can have a good hair transplant, you just need to take finasteride to prevent further hair loss.
@@garyhoffman503 That said I would have expected to see the video address why Matthew didn't have his harvesting done a bit lower. Their are people like David Gilmour of Pink Floyd that didn't really start losing upper hair other than frontal until his 50s, and then would finally would not be categorized as bald until 60s. By his 60s, the area on his head where Matthew's hair was harvested from was a bald area.

I’m not a celebrity and I don’t play one on TV, but I got a transplant about three weeks ago and don’t mind people knowing about it. I even posted the immediate before and after (day of) pictures on Facebook because it can be helpful to others with thinning hair who don’t know what, if anything, to do about it. I’m grateful to Dr. Linkov and this channel for bringing me up to speed on what’s involved. To mention one thing in particular that was helpful, I requested the surgeon not use his robot and do it by hand, based on Linkov’s advice. Update 7-10-22: my profile picture is at seven months, waiting to get a trim and visiting with the barbershop’s greeter.
my bf got a beard transplant to fill it up and he’s owning it to the fullest. He’s so proud he can’t stop recommending it to men lol.

Always enjoy your videos Dr. Linkov! You brought to the table a strong argument & I agree with you! The treatment he claims he used I believe could give him minimal results (if any), however the fullness of his hairline in later years, was a complete 180! I do believe he had extra “help” lol. Maybe they left their latest events up, not updating due to having to cancel events due to covid precautions.
I can't speak for them specifically; I'm guessing based on other companies I've worked with. While it seems reasonable to include dates that may have been cancelled, to show a company is still active. Unfortunately, some companies have felt a bit 'pressured', to leave it off completely after being targeted by groups who don't believe &/or acknowledge the seriousness of C-19.
Again, I don't know about this company. If you're interested & there's a way to contact them, ask them about it. Couldn't hurt.

Happy New Year!
Thanks Doctor
As someone who has had at least seven procedures (I honestly don't know, could be 8) and who has had a pretty good results thanks to a dense donor area and curly/wavy dark brown hair my advice to anyone thinking about going down this path is (1) be realistic with your expectations because you will likely never be fully satisfied, (2) be certain you will have the funds to go thru it several times over the years as your hair loss progresses, $50-80k total is a good estimate of the total cost, (3) use all medicinal modalities before getting an HT, to see how they work, and know you will need to keep using them forever. The better advice to everyone, man woman child, is to never ever fall in love with your physical looks because they WILL change, not might, WILL. And not for the better, unless you suddenly become a fitness freak and achieve change that way. I am not at all sure I would do it over again if I had the choice, even though the clinic I use now is one of the tops in the world and charge about $5/FUT graft. They've done a wonderful job, but even then I still have to use a bit of concealer in front and on the crown. I am 51 and am frequently estimated to be 38 to 40. But had I saved the money and invested it I would probably own at least two more rental units than the four I currently own.
As far as Mr. McConaughey, yes, definitely he has had HT. My only question is how much he was paid by Regenix to "plug" their product on a talk show.
Great video! Thank you!
CZcams enables us to hear the comments, criticisms, analyses and opinions of a plastic surgeon who consistently receives 5 star reviews from his patients. These videos are informative, educational, and enlightening. Thank you Dr. linkov!

Shave and embrace the baldness. I went through the whole painful journey. In the long run you'll be much happier. You'll save tons of money, reduce constant anxiety, and eventually realize that hair is not as big a deal as you previously thought when you get used to it...It's very liberating! Bald is badass!!
very informative video thanks
Ditto! You are such a Gem. Thank you!
I think Matthew is the ultimate example of how well a hair transplant can look. Of course, for him, money was not an issue so he could get the best transplants possible.
The same with Bradley Cooper
You are right, in 2017 I was getting my 2nd transplant in Rochester NY and over heard the nurses talking about Matthew "Mcconheyyy" . Apparently, he was there the same day. I want to make it clear, that I did not see him there that day. However, from the staff's conversations it gave you the impression that he was there. I have had 2 FUT transplants by Dr. Quatella. He was fantastic. Dr. Gary you remind me of a younger version of him.
how much have you spent on this?
That’s a great compliment! Thank you! I interviewed with Dr.Q back in the day for fellowship. He’s a legend.
Very professional of them SMH. Shows that staff are not to be trusted. At our local doctors office, I've overheard the nurses talking $..+ on patients in the background, including even myself while I was there.
Love the channel Dr Linkov is a great presenter.
love your vids Linkov
Whoever did that work on Matthew is a freakin genius, it takes a thorough expert analysis like this to really break it down. Too bad he so vehemently denies it to market some magic product, because i'd like to know who the Doctor is so i can congratulate him, but there's probably a confidentiality agreement that's also lucrative, so this will remain another Hollywood "mystery" lol
Same as other actors claiming to use powdered milk and chicken breasts to grow muscles, instead of just being honest that they're cycling testosterone under doctors supervision 😂 unless people think the Rock can maintain that much muscle at his age
I would think that it's simply easier to get good results when less is done more often, where the surgeon can concentrate on fewer implants.
The confidentiality agreement is called physician-patient privilege and it does not need to be bought, its the law. His HT doc could lose his or her license if they disclosed that they'd done a procedure on him, and it would cost them a lot of dinero.
@@mhub3576 alright alright alright, thanks for that información.
I don't know why they deny that they got work done, it literally can give a young man like me turning 30 and exactly where Matt was at 30 in terms of hair loss, hope that life isn't over.
If everyone was like, 'yeah i got a hair transplant isn't it great?' More people would be open to trying something that would give them help.
That's what I like about Joel McHale. He's very happy with his hair transplant and he is very open about it. In one of his Wired daily routine video, he even mention taking propecia everyday. Such a small detail that other celebs would skip in the making of such a video but not Joel. These drugs/procedures gave him confidence and happiness and he tries to talk about it whenever he can.
You're so funny man . Just be patient and realize that life begins at 50 . If you have your hair !!!! If you don't it's over at 30 . I had mine done at 45 and I tell you I have 19 and 20 year hotties all over me every day . I'm 52 . Keep a good body , get the hair job , enjoy the Ferrari and you'll be handling as much tail as you like well into your 60s . In my industry all the guys with hair and good bodies are killing it well after 55 . Just look at George and Brad . Those old timers are the model answer 😂

Nice explanations. 👍
I recall a hair transplant consultant doing a video about Matthew's hair and he was able to pull pictures from around 2010 and 2015 where he had major recession in his temples. I also recall seeing a couple of videos from his personal youtube channel where he's at his home just talking into a camera and his hair looked crazy thin. Even watching interstellar at some points in the movie his hairline looks quite high.
I just watched the video talking about that same thing, that he hasn't had hair transplants but rather uses very sophisticated front lace hair pieces for certain movies and events.
@@tuffstuff2U True. His hair was thinning big time way back around the mid -l ate 90s. His instant thicker hair are from very good lace/thin skin hair pieces not any gel, meds or transplants. Nothing more or less.

I really enjoyed this an I concur!
Matthew you can't fool us! We have Dr Gary now 🧐
I think you are right, it seems Matthew Mc Conaughey had hair transplants. Great for him, and for all men who have problems with there look in the mirror. Maybe it would be better he stands for it, he could inspire other men to do the same. But that is what show business is all about, a shiny, beautiful, happy, fake world.
We all love to see them getting old with a young, lean, and healthy body. For me it is so inspiring to see what plastic surgery, hair transplantation etc. can do nowadays. We are living in a fascinating time. Thank you so much for your Videos. Monique.
Great video!
Definitely a hair transplant. I'm fairly certain Christian Slater who you see at the beginning of your video, had one as well. I had a hair transplant a month ago and I'm very open about it to anyone that is interested. It's a long process but I look forward to seeing results in another 2-3 months!
The fact that there has been so much debate on Matthew's hair and whether the improvement over the years was due to magic cream, hair systems, products or hair transplants is a testament to how far the hair options have progressed from the stone age of cornrow grafting. Until donor cloning becomes a reality, we are fortunate to have top-notch surgeons that can produce natural undiscernible results that take a pro like Dr. Gary to reveal the truth. It would be nice if Matthew would come forward and confirm what we now know that hair transplants, when done by a world-class surgeon, can produce a made for Hollywood result.
I think Dr. gary is wrong. There is no doctor out there that can produce results that naturally.
Interesting that Christian Slater was interviewing him ... who himself has had a HT. Big fan of both! 🤙🏻

I've said for many years that he's had a transplant so I agree with you. How many FUT's are possible and possible using the same scar? Does depend on the tightness of the scalp? Also, would you recommend the FUT or FUE for one last procedure in your 50's and wearing a short haircut??
You Nailed It
Any doubts vanished after seeing that linear low density area on the back which is usually an FUT scar as Dr. Gary here taught us
these new procedures are really fantastic, the result is so natural, I remember at the beginning of these operations the result was catastrophic, people had on their heads a field of leeks, it was really ugly
I always find your videos very interesting! I was wondering if you could do a video o tattoo scar camouflage. Thanks!

I have to say whoever did his hair, did a great job.
Never heard about this Regenix, and from what you said doc it doesn't make me wanna know either hahaha. About Matt's hair, great video covering the subject, when I was young I thought he used a hairpiece for sure lol, but after growing up and learning more and more on the subject, I couldn't agree more with you doc, his hair just gets better and increases density like crazy only using topical products?! I ain't buying it
nice catch
Thank you, I've learned so very much as I prepare to have mine! I wish I lived in N.Y. so I could work with you, but I live in CA. The cost is just too great to fly to N.Y. I sure wish you would comment on Bosely.
Riveting Gary!!! Thank God some of us guys have your option! Hair Loss is second only to cancer. Glad I'm still here!
Are you kidding me? Are you that insecure????
I think you have it dialed in just about right. McConaughey is a great looking guy w/ angular and tight facial lineaments, likely has a stylist who can magnify good results. His wavy hair certainly helps, too. No matter where his hair might've come from, most everyone surely agrees that's some really great looking hair! I'm not bothered, at all, by Matthew not revealing details. More bothered by those who pay little attention to their appearance. Good video by the way!
I didn’t even realize that was Christian slater interviewing him till a comment below! “Unbelievable!” Dr Gary thank u for the always informative videos.

👏🏾👏👏🏻First sponsor!!!
Great and informative video, Dr. Gary. I have a question, at the Norwood Scale level of 4 or 5, does a person really have enough donor hair to transplant to those areas? Another question is about how many graphs ( and I know it's a ball park figure) would it take to fill such areas? I am thinking about having transplants done in the next 3, 4 years, and I am more to the Scale level of 5 at this time at 60 years old. Thank you.
Start taking fin and doing minoxidil daily! Immediately, do wait wait until you lose more!
You are right!!
As a young man I had incredibly beautiful, strong, auburn hair. I grew it long and it was my trade mark. The thought of losing my hair caused me a lot of anxiety, especially as I had started to worry about receding at the crowns. The tldr is that I shaved it off for work reasons. Ive partially grown it back, I may grow it long again... who knows. In fact the fear of going bald was far worse than any hair condition I had. Im over 50 now, with good hair, with more grey growing through.
My point is that people like you for what you do with pride and confidence, and that might mean growing your hair long, OR shaving it all OFF. Im an older, straight, man. If I went on a date with a GIRL who was completely bald, but owned it, I would not even blink.
Wtf

Right? I’m 31 but I think many girls look great bald. It really is all about owning it
Do one for Zac Efron and John Travolta I think that would be interesting c:

This dude is the professor X of hair transplants. Subscribed.
his dr. did a great job. he looks great
I think he had great hair transplants, and kudos to whomever did his procedures. I had a few hair transplants many years ago, and though they look OK, they are not as good as what these famous people received (probably with much better and more expensive surgeons). They did a pretty good job on my hairline, though not as good of a job on my crown area.
I think the hairline would be the most important area to not mess up
We have to keep in mind that people have different types of hair. The end result isn't all about the operation being good or bad but how much coverage your hair type gives you.
Do a video on Kanye’s hair transplant. He got a very subtle one. Mainly his temples were filled in. Looks so natural!
He's smarter than most with it. He usually gets a full buzzcut so no one notices he got a transplant. And when he grows back, he gets a wild style so no one notices any follicle changes.
Does rogaine have any issues with psoriasis? Please let us know, thank you!

For all those who are debating getting it done. DO IT. I would highly recommend going to Turkey. My friend just got back and he had a cul-de-sac classic horseshoe shape balding. 4500 grafts for $3K! He is only 6 months in and it looks amazing. The likelihood of the procedure looking more natural diminishes the longer you wait. I'm going next year.
Which clinic/doctor in turkey??
who???
The only thing that everybody forgets to look at is, is it gonna last? They all say hair will still be growing normally but there has been lots of men saying that after 2-3 years after the procedure the hair started falling again. So yeah thats what Im concerned about when getting it
I love Matthew Mcconaughay too. He was so funny in Failure to Launch.
I love your thumbnails, doctor.
I really want to ask you this question-
You said it's not recommended to do more than 2500 grafts in one take for few reasons. But what If you do two operations, say three days apart, so that I would just be done with, let's say 4000 grafts?
Its actually very common in turkey to do like what you said 2 sessions the next day hope doc replies on what he thinks about it
No. Not a great idea because you want to see how the hair grows in before committing thousands more precious grafts. What if an area doesn’t grow in well and you now want that area filled in again but you’ve now utilized many of your grafts elsewhere?
@@drgarylinkov Thanks, that totally make sense
@@drgarylinkov Yeah, and also donor area management becomes tricky as well. Multiple day surgeries are performed to give the crew rest, not the patient.
Hi doctor, I am using Minoxidil to improve hair growth..but it only helps the hair on the middle skull to grow...what can i do to grow hair on side skull

Quick question about FUE, since you mentioned that FUT may leave a strip of lower density and showed FUE as better distributing the donor area.
Would that donor area show scarring if you were to shave the hairs in the donor area?
These types of reviews are great. Would you consider covering Joel McHale next? 🤔
Steve carrell could be next! Great transplant!
I am a bit on the edge with Matthew McConaughey.. not sure if he did indeed have a hair transplant. He has a similar look as an old boss of mine.. that guy also had much worse hair 20 years ago and I definitely know he had no hair transplants. He used natural remedies and Propecia and his hair is full now, much more than ever before. If indeed it was a transplant here in this case it was really done much better than what you usually see. Looks very very natural I have to say.

@@joethi4981 sure, no secret there 2750 €! The same treatment in Belgium would have cost me 18000€! Ridiculous, but then European prices are ridiculous. So there you have it.
Need to know the clinic? Esteworld Istanbul. My brother did it a year ago at this clinic, AMAZING RESULT
Greetings Guy-Louis 😉
3500 grafts for only 2750? thats less than 1 USD per graft. i'm skeptical
