i swear hair loss topic is the most unifying thing among men
Yup 😭 when someone is gettinh bald we all feel like "omg that could be me in a few years"
You stop caring after a while
Well, when you make the mistake of looking at the top of your head for the first time in years and find out you've got bald patches it freaks you out a little. You try some things for a while then you let it go. You're lucky if you already have partner who loves you already. Not so lucky if you're single and have to find someone who doesn't care right off the bat. haha
It can be pretty divisive when men tease each other about it, which in my culture is a lot, starting with the hair line.
Got any problem with that?
The guy is 40 years old and still has a head of hair, he shouldn’t worry
because hes been medicating for 15 years.
@19adi b never take finasteride , minoxidil may work for you . finasteride is even worse than castration as it not only makes you impotent but you also looses interest in sex . If you are impotent you can still use viagra but if you loose interest in sex by hormonal changes which finasteride do then your life is done .
Man on the moon so far ahead of the game and he’s complaining 🤣🤣 dude has a full head of hair
ElSpewtardo absolutely. It’s interesting to see where he’d be if not so.
ellie, muffasa and others EXACTLY! No thanks!
This reminded me of a skinny girl calling herself fat.
Walks with Joe exactly lol most dudes would love to have his hair.
That's why he said that his hair is "starting to go". He is didnt say anyithing about being bald or smth like thst. He is a hollywood star in a rather young age and he is one of a few who expirience hair losses amongs the celebrities. I mean look at Leo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Johnny Deep even De Niro who is like in his 70s, and so on... and so on... They all have better hairlines and thicker hair than him. Actors twice his age. It is a rare thing to find rather young hollywood celebrities struggling with hair loss. Because you can clearly see it and he knows that there is no way to stop it now, he can only slow it down. So please don't try to compare it with skinny girls calling themselfes fat because this is real and I understand his struggle cuz im expiriencing the same. Im in my early 20s and I can clearly see my hair going thiner and slowly receeding. My friends and family make fun of me for constantly trying to stop it and cure it. So yeah, I know how he feels+he is a celebrity

Gimme break dude. You're 40 years old and still have a full head of hair. Those corners are simply a matured hairline that the vast majority of men have.
Yup. A lot of teens even have that, but it never progresses.
he said he's been taking the meds since he was 25
jessdaisy he stopped but his hair is still around
If you see some shots of him with a slicked back hairstyle back in that 70s show, you can tell it receeded quite a bit and isn't just a mature hairline
But he's Kelso
Holy hell I thought he was like 31...but he's 40....

40 is NOT old!!
That 70s show started in 1998. There was now way he could be 30 right now
He looks so young
He’s honestly so brave to talk about that stuff publicly. Men who lose their hair are completely shamed by society as being lesser-than, even though it’s not something they can control!
Paul Bagg Calling someone brave for talking about hair ( that slight temple raise doesn’t mean he’ll go bald) is kind of a stretch
Being a hideous Shrek lookalike isn't brave

Conan pretending not to know what finasteride is... lol okay dude.
If you get a transplant without finasteride you'll just keep balding behind it. Most people who can afford hair transplants, even the ultra-wealthy, will use finasteride to avoid needing more. Not because they can't afford more, but because repeated hair transplants are a pain in the ass and eventually you run out of follicles to move.
Conan hair does look transplanted (but on finasteride too, otherwise his crown would be already bald and he's ginger so he can't really expect a great transplant result), but Ashton? Do you even know how transplanted hair looks like? His hairline is full of ''baby hairs'' typical from saved at the right time or recovered thanks to dutasteride.

@@HairLossPodcast how long can you go without taking the medicine?
That’s cause he prevented it from getting worse and didn’t just “shave it off bro”
@@HairLossPodcast I started minoxidil once a day at the age of 19
@@dirt_xo Bro, DO NOT take minoxidil without a 5ar inhibitor. You have to take finasteride or dutasteride as well. Test is converted to DHT, the amount depends on your genetics. Then the DHT gets sent to hair follicle receptors, the sensitivity to and amount of DHT produced are both genetic. You can’t control how sensitive your DHT receptors are, however you can stop up to 75-80% of DHT conversion with finasteride. There aren’t many side affects (most go away after 3 years according to studies) other than lower libido. If you’re taking minoxidil, you aren’t stopping what actually caused MPB, you are basically trying to fertilize a field that gets destroyed everyday.
Since you’re 19, the only issue is that stopping DHT production may affect your beard development, if you don’t have one already. However, there are conflicting opinions about beards with DHT inhibitors.

People like you complain that celebs aren't down to earth but when they are being honest about things you guys cry like bitches lol
Few things to say
1. He isnt asking for pity/ tryna make people feel bad for him
2. He’s doing what like 80% of people do- we see imperfections (not that hair loss is an imperfection) on ourselves more than others. for example for me when i gain weight i see it a lot more than anyone else. I feel heavy and overweight whereas my family and friends wouldn’t of even noticed a difference. So there’s a chance to us it doesn’t seem like he’s losing it, but since he stopped taking the meds HE’S noticed it’s started to change. But we don’t see him often enough to notice.
I love how confident he is about his hair when there’s so many other people who are ashamed to admit it and will do anything to hide this fact. He just comes straight out

That's losing your hair?? Right....

It's thinning and the hairline is receding. So yeah, that's losing your hair. It doesn't happen overnight.
Yep definitely sucks losing your hair, I'm 24 and mine is thinning badly, problem is I'm relatively slim weight wise and I can't grow a full beard so when I finally go bald, I'll look like a weirdo! I don't think I'll leave the house haha!

We all get dealt a different hand in the genetic lottery. That being said, I know some dudes that would absolutely KILL for that hair, especially at 40 years of age.
I'm 65 years old. And yes I've been on Dutasteride for almost a year. It's also helping with my Prostate issue, which is what it was originally manufactured for. I was taking Finasteride for 9 years, but that Medication lost its efficacy after 7 years. This is my photo this past April. What Ashton Kutcher was trying to explain, is that DHT, the by- product of testosterone attaches to the hair follicles which causes the Male pattern baldness. Dutasteride is clearly superior to Finasteride in stopping hair loss, and regrowing hair. This coming from a 65 year old guy.

Then start taking Finasteride before you've lost too much. Seriously, go do some research, a lot of people put if off and regret it later on. It really works amazingly at preventing hairloss, has minimal side-effects and is very cheap.
luke lewis
Finasteride doesn't grow back hair, it just stops further hairloss. If you want your hairline restored you will need to have a transplant, which is exactly why I'm suggesting starting early before you've lost too much. Also, if you say it "doesn't work", then why exactly are you using it?
luke lewis And by the way you most definitely can get finasteride in the UK, I don't know where you're getting your "facts".
Now I can't tell the difference betwenn Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Malone
Equally handsome, equally smart.
Funny how light does it he take, here i am having panic attacks and i cannot even live with myself
@Gizmo Allwin 19
Well that's because first of all he's 41 years old and not a guy in his late teens or in his early 20's who's experiencing hair loss , and second of all and most importantly he has a lot of money so he can afford all the medication and hair transplants he wants if he's ever gonna even need a transplant with this amount of hair at this age and something to consider here is that he's 41 years old with this amount of hair so from this point on if his hair actually starts to go then a frickle of Finasteride weekly alone will be sufficient to stabilise his hair loss and even regrow his hair with no problems it's not like he's a young 19 year old patient with obviously a lot of DHT in his system who's balding and has to throw the kitchen sink of hair loss medications and treatments on his hair loss and slowing it down at best not even stabilising it and needing multiple hair transplants through his lifetime to maintain his hair , we're in 2020 your chances with succesfully fighting hair loss which means STAYING on top of it and maintaining your REAL hair all depend on your financial situation , age , knowledge(when it comes to hairloss) and what stage of hair loss you're at and in his case all these boxes are successfully ticked so he has nothing to worry about really .
Nobody is giving him credit for his honesty. He has a good enough hairline for his age because he was taking that medication since his mid twenties.
I like how conan pretends that he doesnt know what finasteride/propecia is

Around my 20th birthday, a hairdresser commented that my hairline was beginning to recede and I became so self-conscious about it and wasted hours every month holding a second mirror to a mirror to look at it. At age 24 I went to a doctor and he didn't charge for the visit and said to stop worrying. He showed me his Al Pacino receded hairline and said he started receding at the same age and was 45. He was right all along and I wish I had stopped all the worry. I'm turning 50 next month and have great hair with a Lincoln hairline. If you're destined to be the bald guy it will start at age 15-16. Other guys will start thinning and balding around 20-24. For you guys do the short-shaved, military look until follicle cloning and stemcell research is improved over the next years. 65% of bald men who have hair transplants are unsatisfied with their results and it looks strange.
Your hairdresser was an assh*le
He’s going Bald ? Am I missing something 😂😂😂
Through the years this man has been always a funny man
It happened with me too......once i used to go to a doctor,he gave me finasteride and hair started get stronger but eventually i discontinued going to him for some reason and started seeing another one, he removed finasteride from prescription thats why my hair started falling again
The way Conan said no is kinda weird I think he actually knows what it is and uses it XD but he trys to hide it
I've had the Ashton Kutcher hairstyle since I was 14 that's in 2011 I love this guy
Lol, this is nothing for a 40 yo man. I'm 23 and I already lost a lot of hair. I'll probably be looking like some kind of professor in a year or two.
Same here.
22 yo guy, my temples are receding alot.
Hats gonna be my best friends
@Alladeen Madafaker I don't wanna worry you, but the two are actually related. Testosterone makes men go bald rather quickly, but also assists facial hair growth. My dad's hair began receding at age 17, but he also had a full beard already by that time. So far luck seems to favor me. I had a full beard already at age 16, but so far (18 now) no hair loss. Beard is at 5 inches though muahaha!
Aditya Bhat I want to be that guy, ‘no hats inside’
Sad
#metoo
28 years old and my hair falls out more and more every day..
But dammit my beard gets thicker each day I swear... it sucks haha
it's funny not hearing his voice for years. I think about about the line "Well Damn Jackie". Now I can hear it deepening a bit.
I started finasteride at 33 when I noticed my windows peak losing thickness. I’m SO GLAD I started when I noticed. I did lose a lot of my thick hair but it has stopped coming out and new hairs are starting to grow thick. 1 year so far on it.
Now u which norwood
how is your libido and Erectile power?
@@r_x004when controlling for the placebo effect only 2-4% of people on Finasteride experience sexual side effects.
How about the side effects? mood swings, low libido etc...
Fun fact: Finasteride is a medication used to reduce the size of your prostate if you’ve got benign (non-cancerous) prostatic hyperplasia (enlargement). It also helps with male pattern hair loss in men. :)
Actually I would say the fun fact would be the other way round! but I guess the drug now, is more well known for treating male pattern hair loss than for the prostate issue.
Yep, it can feel incredibly depressing, seeing your hair on your sheets, in the drain and when you're drying it. I'm just 18 and I don't wanna be bald before I turn 30
You can stop hairloss by taking Finasteride or at least slow it down by quite a significant degree. You can get it prescribed if you go to a dermatologist. Sexual side effects occur in 2-4% of people when controlled for the placebo effect
Sadly I can well relate to Ashton here, have a similar situation with my hairline although I'm lucky because many other guys go almost hairless at like 20 years old or shortly after.
Girls / women don't know how lucky they are in regards to hair. I'm a bit envious of them :)
@Griff - Really? Damn, that’s bad. Hope it’s not a degenerating trend.
Starting to go = have a very full head of hair and low hairline.
Ok......
Last year scientists stumbled upon new info with hairloss. A type of immune cells called Tregs have a big effect on being able to grow hair or not, working with stem cells to heal wounds and grow hair. Maybe in the next few years big things will happen.
Miadous any link bro?

another year, another "we discovered a cure for baldness" story
even if they find a cure in the next few years. It takes more years to test the drugs. So you're looking at ~20-30 years
