I started watching and your truck was so familiar... then I noticed the dope Exclusive Tents hat! Your brother and B came out and helped us install our Satau!
Yes! I too rock a 12v Cummins with a pop up canopy. I like to sleep in a hammock. Had to get creative to make it work but man it's nice. Saves space too. I use the "bed" area as a storage. I am a substitute teacher and travel all over working when needed and exploring when not. I absolutely love this life. I have played with starting a CZcams channel but honestly, I just get carried away with having a great time and forget to set up the camera. Looking at getting a ParaMotor. Right now I play with a One Wheel and a mountain bike. Hitting Alaska this year and can't wait to see Canada!
You guys's Set up is pretty dope, Simplistic yet very practical which is my style. Hiatus is Def. my top choice over a lot more expensive options which are Wedge Styles. Thank You for Sharing & Safe Travels!
That is a gorgeous interior build out. Well done . Can't wait to see more. We've mounted solar panels on the top of our Hiatus, and put in lithium batteries, but our interior is a mess compared to this. Awesome!
Solar panels have been something Ive needed to do. Getting the cable to cleanly come into the interior will take some thought…let me know how urs turns out.
03:16 Semi-retired welder-fabricator here. 2003, for our ExpeditionVehicle, I fabricated a shelf-unit sixteen inches deep... a factory cabinet designed for a stand-still house would occupy too much cubic space. We acquired our sink/faucet from our local-owned family-operated home-improvement center. . Accordingly, your major-cool cabinet easily earns TheLargeMarge SealOfApproval.
I come back to this video about one a month while I wait for my hiatus. How has the long term durability of the hiatus been? Pretty water and air tight still? Noticing any issues anywhere?
This looks like such a cozy set up! Have you had a chance to test it in some harsher conditions? Really curious how it holds up in snow, wind, rain, or even just a chilly night
We have been in harsh winters, multi-day rain storms, 55 mph winds, and Arizona summers. The Hiatus has been outstanding in all conditions. We have a fan for when its hot and a small buddy heater when its cold and thats all we need to be comfortable in the extremes.
Hi? I'm from Brazil and I thought this project was really cool. Can you make a video with explanations of the construction? such as how to attach it to the bucket, pop up system, that is, everything about the construction and technical specification. if you can, I'll be grateful. I want to travel and do something like this project in the future. thanks.
We are actually working on a updated video later this week and weekend. I’ll be doing one video showing the new suspension build and doing another walk around, but more focused on the truck this time.
02:31 We like the rear entry. 2003, for our ExpeditionVehicle, I fabricated a rear entry. This rig is the culmination of a half-century of camping in lesser rigs. . With a rear entry, we like the sight-lines, the immediate sense of visual and visceral openness. . A side entry requires single-purpose steps or ladder... something else to store and secure, something else to go wrong, a disabling single-point-of-failure (in engineering terms, a 'SPOF', usually requiring a complete overhaul of the entire system to increase resiliency). A side entry also visually slams the sight-lines against the 'far' wall, inevitably shrinking the cubic space. This energetic shrinking worsens if the entry faces cabinets or the shower, and probably is the cause of too many undiagnosed situations of 'fight-er-flight'... . Another rear-entry benefit: In South America, some areas drive in the left lane with right-hand drive vehicles. A curb-side entry in a LHD area would put the entry in the traffic zone of a RHD country.
When the walls touch the top of the roof there are “squat switches connectors” that allow power to go to the lights and fan in the roof. If the walls are folded down, no power can be used in the roof.
The camper alone (without the interior build out) was around $16k if I remember correctly. I think the price have gone up though. You can probably go to the Hiatus website and see if they have current pricing.
This is the best pop-up camper design, hands down.
Hopefully Hiatus will ramp up production.

I finally saw you guys just now. On Speedway. Nice rainy weather to 👍🏽. Your rig is awesome. Keep it up guys
i came for the Hiatus. Was blown away by the 12 valve. I stayed for the eye candy. She's a beaut Clark
2001 My guy😁 it’s a 24 valve

Thuren has some fine suspension enhancements. Nice guy, great guidance and a small company.

Nice camper pop-up hardwall format and clean setup! Would be nice to see more :)

Sweet.
Big feel,
well conceived.
Awesome set up! That Dodge does not even notice it probably!
Just seen your truck on the cjc channel awesome rig
The perfect setup
I like the hard top pop up compared to the mesh type I’d so buy that and go traveling around oz
Very well done. I’m in Tucson AZ as well. NW side of town. And I’m also looking for a clean 5.9 Cummins to outfit for my outdoor adventures.
Awesome! Hope you find what you are looking for. Sorry for the late reply, I am awful at this comment thing on CZcams. I forget to log in and check.
Thanks for sharing, love your rig. Would like to see you camp ground myself, can you tell me where
Very Nice 🌲

I wish for more details about the roof, the walls and the pop up mechanics..
If it's raining out when you tear down, does water leak in when you pull the roof back down? Thanks
@SlowlyOverStones125
what’s the roof material? Is it solid or like a vinyl layer? Safe to secure a kayak on top?

Is this a 6ft bed? Seems very spacious! Doing something similiar with a smaller space (5ft bed of a gladiator). Love this for inspiration
Yes, it is a 6ft bed 👍
Get some red lights for late night. That way the bugs stay away
i want to do something like this with my 06 mega
Great set up, mind if I ask the weight of the Hiatus?
498 lbs. sorry for the long delay ion getting back with you. Not used to this CZcams thing.
Very vool
How is the fan and the LED lights connected to the power source??? It doesn't look like you could run wiring through the folding panels???
When the walls touch the top of the roof there are “squat switches connectors” that allow power to go to the lights and fan in the roof. If the walls are folded down, no power can be used in the roof.
I received an email saying that they use contact switches
@@Buzzsteele yup, same thing different terminology 👍
Sweet truck how much?!
Make life easier, add a bar between the two blue handles on your drawer slides and you only need one hand to operate them
Make life more exhilarating, add a bar above the doorway for a dashing exit.
Impress the straights.
take a shot each time she says basic or basically!
Is your big side door standard or is it an option?
I think it’s an option and not standard
how's your stealth camping with the pop up?
Not good to be honest. If you pop it up, it’s obvious what you’re doing.
ฝรั่งโครตเก่งเลยอยากได้แบบนี้บ้าง รับรองเที่ยวแม่งทุกวัน555
How much was the camper I have 8ft bed 96 ram

It’s nice but for the 16k price I would have gone with an Alu
These campers are awesome but if I order today it wont be built for over two years which is a bummer.
If you order it tomorrow, when will it won't be built?
3 year wait bruh
Where is your toilet?
We just use a box toilet with bags. Nothing fancy.
