Game Description:

It’s really sad for a game with so much potential like this to be removed, just imagine if the devs decided to keep all of this stuff. They would get the best game award and it would be the best game out there, it’s very sad to see wasted potential like this masterpiece of a game.
It weren't the devs intentions to cut so much content, but 2K were rushing the game since it was like 8 years in development allegedly because of console versions.
Don’t get me wrong, mafia 2 is still a great game, but seeing all this removed content & stuff, it hurts that we’ve only seen like 20% of what this game could have been…

Mafia 2 was robbed off so many awesome features. I don’t blame the developers for this, I blame the one who gave them these deadlines!
The game is great by itself with no many small details, but if only they could make like a true definitive edition with all removed content and even more features it would be game more detailed than Metal Gear Solid.
Keep going with this type of content, I know there is more about Mafia 2 to discover and I wish it would have ended differently of what we expected.
all the guilty to the poor power of ps3 and xbox 360. For example Mafia 1 was made specifically for the PC , then they ported to ps2 and xbox with a brutal downgrade.

Just played Joe's adventures, there's a random mission to go and beat up a guy who beats some girl, thing is - the guy has an extremely detailed home up the hills, with great view, fridge, phone and everything a normal player home would have. Obviously meant for player, but never used. Also, I've heard that you were supposed to be able to join any family in the game, not just Falcone, but that was even pre release rumor, from an interview or something like that
When talking about crime-based games, the Yakuza series (include 2 Judgement games) and the Mafia series are always my top 2 favorites. It is a shame that Mafia 2 was cut lots of contents that could make the game so much more immersive than what we got. My wish is that one day the Mafia series can have a game that can fully realize its great potential!

I've often speculated - since early reports about Mafia 2 dealt with the multiple-thread plot and 4-5 different endings - that the mission where you steal the gas ration stamps could go multiple ways and would decide the next path.
#1 - Vito steals the stamps, but doesn't disable the alarm - Vito goes to prison
#2 - Vito steals the stamps but DOES disable the alarm - they both continue with the Clemente family
#3 - Vito steals the stamps, Disables the alarm, but doesn't distribute enough stamps in time - the mission Henry planned for Joe goes awry and Joe gets arrested.
Why else do we have the video of Joe arriving back on the train in Joe's adventures? I really don't think they would make bespoke pre-rendered scenes for a half-thrown together DLC. Joe was meant to go to prison at some point.
There a prisoner joe model and I think Salvatore from mafia 1 model in the files of the game so you might be right
@@theguy5776 Also, why would Joe double-cross Vito at the end, unless Joe had reason to? Now if Joe got sent up instead of Vito and Joe went missing for most of the game.... you'd think Joe would be pretty pissed off by the end.
I never understood how Joe turned on Vito at that last second.
6:45 I could see putting a MG or Bazooka in the back of some vehicles as a 'legit' way to carry them around for when you really need some big firepower.
Mafia 2 had a great story! But with all the activities taken out that I’m sure would’ve been more free roam based it would’ve made the game even better! The city is amazing looking with a lot of detail it’s a shame you really don’t get to interact much in it
This was literally the first game i ever pre ordered back in the day for my PS3 I loved this game but i was so disappointed since a cut mission where you had to ruin a garage at the Docks was the whole reason i bought it because it looked so amazing (i was 14 at the time)
I do still love the game but i hope some modders can somehow re-create everything one day :)
6:47 In Mafia 3, in the ,, Faster baby! ,, DLC there's also a train. It's just like the rest however, you can't ride it, just see it. It appears during the chase after Slim Beaumont when he jumps before the train comes, and you jump through a car of it. Somehow, the train is still wonky and will fly after passing by 💀
Yes! Good eye, that's the only time in Mafia 3 we see a train but like Mafia 2 it's scripted. One time I used noclip and went pretty close to it.
Mafia 3 ruined the mafia series. The concept is nice but it should be more like a punisher game. It doesn't feel like the first two and I just finished the trilogy for the second time. Mafia 3 does a have a beautiful scenery and track list.
I agree Mafia was on a wonderful streak of Italian American Cosa nostra tales (which we actually don't see too much in games), Mafia 3 completely sidelined that tradition.
We never got a real fullfiling continuation to Vito arc, Vito should have been the main character, but we didn't even get not play as a Italian character becomes a made man.
The name Mafia was only that in name. And besides that i really disliked that the game became so action focused on action, it felt like you were controlling a Terminator or a killing machine. It completely took away from the simulation and destroyed any immersion the game could have had.
To me it was a disaster.
@Franco Tirador I agree completely with what you are saying. Mafia was supposed to be a mobster simulator. Now it feels like a black John wick going across town getting every guy on the checklist. I would almost say a modern version of Assasins creed where we finish of templars. It's a dilemma but I'm definitely convinced this game should be separate and not in the mafia series. Much love.

The empty .SDS files were probably kept there because the game wouldn't load without them. When the game loads, it checks to see if everything within the game files is present for the game to load.
If you delete them, it doesn’t affect the game. They were for voice lines for the cab drivers.
@@MafiaGameVideos Huh. That's interesting. Most games just crash when a certain file is altered in size or if it was deleted/moved.
It's cool to look at this as a Czech person - for example, joevez is short for Joe vězení (Joe prison) and many more. Also the way you read the names is quite funny :D

We need a REAL definitive edition for mafia 2 with everything that was cut back in 2010 id donate to the original devs to get them to do this. Seriously though, just imagine this game updated and revamped with all it lost in the hands of 2k.
Also I wished it referenced New Bordeaux and Lost Heaven. Maybe have airports to fly to cities or a countryside in case Vito needs to drive away from Empire Bay. Maybe the locations of Mafia 2 should’ve included lost Heaven. New Bordeaux and Havana.
Impossible with the ps3/360 hardware they were working with at the time.
@@Therealw1 it's not impossible, there would just be some loading screen when traveling between locations, and there would probably be 2 or 3 Download discs.
They removed lots of things from "War Hero" pack
Stick grenades, bayonet, flare gun, bazooka,B.A.R ,german half-track.
Also the boxing tournament was removed, but particularly made it in Jimmy's DLC. Also they brought back the special cars, which Charlie supposed to give us, as gratitude for the service.
The drag racing was fully removed.
The subway stuff named "nadzemka" basically stands for subway that rides above ground, the translation from Czech to English is very wonky.

In my opinion, Mafia 2 is one of the greatest games ever made. The storyline is perfect, the atmosphere with the music, voice actors etc is just a masterclass. Its a shame how mafia 3 turned out, just a poor game overall with no ambition and poor writing (minus a select few missions). I hope for mafia 4 they go back to the Vito early era, spend years just to make it like mafia 2 but better.

when you first play it and one of your first missions is that guy that buys stolen cars from you and its a repeatable mission, and you can rob stores and spend money on upgrading your car, its kinda obvious that they intended to give you more ways to earn money than that while also giving you more ways to spend your money(like buying different apartments and businesses) and this game came after San Andreas and Vice City Stories where you can spend and invest money on all kinds of different businesses you take over, I'm sure they were inspired by that and had their own ideas to make something like that that's even better than GTA's but obviously didn't have the time and the money for another year of development.

Mafia 2 is still a great game but I wish they didn't cut out some much content.
Vinci's mansion is sort of used in the main game but as Clemente's compound, if you fail to kill Clemente during Room Service's car chase he drives to that mansion
So much potential yet none of this made it into the definitive edition they had 2 chances!

Joe prison mighta been one of the "choices" which impacted which ending you would get in the multiple endings original vision, maybe instead of vito going to prison you make a choice and joe gets caught instead, and we either play as joe or see him in the attire, or both joe and vito end up in prison, and joe therefore meets leo galante and the original ending wouldnt have happened and one of the others do
I'm replaying mafia 2 now I have both the original version and the Definitive Edition.

You can see also see dogs in Chapter 6 Time Well Spent and in Chapter 9 Balls and Beans.

i’m not fully sure but i thought that the mafia 3 storing body in trunk was only useable if you had the faster baby! dlc. I remember replaying on a second account and couldn’t do it since I didn’t have it
Yes! The dlc introduced the feature due to the bounty hunting missions.
I wish there was working taxis because when the cops are after you and you have to drive across town I’d either die from accidents or cops! Lol 😂

Sometimes i wish mafia belonged to Rockstar games. Ive been wanting them to make a game set around 1920-1960 for a long time now.
Dont get me wrong, i very much appreciate what we got, its just Rockstar is incredible at making open world crime games. I mean, thats all they do nowadays anyway. Lol

I kinda wish all of the stuff removed made it into the final game. mafia 2 is such a great game but with all of these other stuff like I removed it would’ve been way better. With choices different endings customisation on your apartment buying apartments cars side missions it would of been amazing. I just wish that if they ever decide to remake it they should bring back all these removed things just to see how things could’ve been

its crazy how good Mafia 2 is despite how little content it has when you really think about it(not counting the DLCs)
I think the Gameplay being so smooth and good that it makes up for the lack of content, but if it came out with even half the removed content I think a lot of people would consider it a better game than GTA IV which was Mafia 2's main competitor.

Another thing about the Rambo outfit is that it is way too new, the Elvis outfit is believable for the 1950s and it's less known, while with Rambo, way too popular and it sticks out way too much

During first or second chapter after prison you can find dogs during selling cigarretes and probably shoot that dog in I'm not mistaken.

Mafia 1 remake was really good in some ways but they could have made it a Masterpiece and added all the removed features of City of Lost Heaven, like the Multiplayer Racing feature and other features, Mafia 2 has even more of those removed features than can make it a very Replayable open world game.

45rpm records were 7-inch records that could hold about 4-5 minutes of recording on each side, perfect for a single song. 78rpm records could barley it an entire song on each side.

I remember when Mafia 2 came out I thought it wasn't that great since I was comparing it to Mafia 1 and Mafia 1 was literally ground breaking when it came out in 2002 and in a lot of ways was even better than GTA(and GTA was the best and most well-known in the genre, so Mafia competing with it that well was legit insane)
but as time went by I keep realizing how great this game is, specially considering how little time they had to finish it, its almost as good as GTA IV while having a lot less money to spend with fewer numbers of devs, that's something special and it means if they had that GTA money and had a bigger team they could have possibly made a better game than GTA IV.
