    i just sold my 2018 Golf R back to the dealer here in Canada,...i paid 43,000 in 2017, and put $24,000 kms on it in total. They gave me $37,750 for it. I loved that I drove it nearly 4 years and it cost me $6,000, it was absolutely mint, not a scratch. I think the money they gave me was due to the used prices rising so high this year. They sold it two days later for $45,000,...I'm glad It wasn't me lol. The Golf R was fun, very very fast, but no real audible Turbo noises. My 2015 Golf Trendline, and 2017 GTI had more Turbo noises. I had to drop some debt to buy my new home, so now I'm driving my winter car a 2005 Echo...yes a 05 Echo lol. this spring I'll be looking for a Tiguan, probably used. I love the 1st generation. We shall see.

    Tiguan R and the R-Line with 4 Motion & 20" wheels are really great all-rounders. The Tiguan does everything really well.

    We just turned in a 2019 Tiguan for an ID4. We're definitely missing the rear seat adjustability, 3rd row, and cargo space. The sport mode made performance a little more fun to drive. Otherwise a great family and road tripping vehicle.

      We are thinking of the same switch:) does the ID4 feel similar inside for passengers in terms of space/legroom? Thanks

    Great review. Wife just picked up a 21 fully loaded R line in grey. I dont have much experience with VW but i must say its very nice. As a bigger guy the room inside is suprising. Looking forward to seeing how this car operates.

  • @nobatteriesincluded3968

    Very underrated there’s a lot of car here I’m happy with mine💯 the throttle is sensitive but you get use to it after a while,everyone complains about 184hp but forget about 221 torque @1600 rpms great review 💯

    Kyle, I love watching your reviews. with your Informative and easy-going manner. I have a 2019 Tiguan SEL 4Motion. I had to look the other day to see if it had a sunroof. LOL, it does of course, but not worth paying extra. In Texas, keeping the cover closed is advisable. I love the vehicle except for the engine. If it had 220 hp rather than the anemic 184 hp, it would literally be perfect. That should be standard in the SEL. (If they're not going to give you power, at least there should be good gas mileage, but that doesn't occur either.)

    Thanks for the great review! Which is the better driver's cuv: Taos or Tiguan? I am choosing between the two. I drove the fwd Taos S and loved the way it drove. Is it worth it to pay more for a base tiguan with regard to driving enjoyment? Thanks!

    Great review, thanks! My only complaints with the 2022 Tiguan are the relatively weak engine, the fact that the ambient lighting is not more extensive and reaching towards the back rows, and finally the exhaust pipes not being real! Actually I would also have preferred the white interior to pair with the Platinum Grey Metallic exterior color. Other than that, I think its a great choice in this category.

    Pretty good review, at least some new points of view, I noticed as well that sharp take off , it must be an easy fix, not sure why keep it like that. How it is on bad roads, the suspension was not smoothing bumps as I hoped on old model , did they improve that area?

    VWs interiors are finally taking it a notch up. Used to be the S versions were depressing like NYC taxi cabs.

    You're spot on with the "wimpy wheels" comment on the '21 R-Line. The '20 R-Line comes with 20" wheels and 255 tires; a much better badass look.

  • @brunopaynebarbosa
    @brunopaynebarbosa Před 2 lety

    Got a SE AWD with Sunroof and everything available for that trim, didn't feel the need of going to a R-Line for many reasons, including price. Test drove a Taos SEL before and definitely went with Tiguan

  • @betaorionisdrums
    @betaorionisdrums Před 2 lety

    Good review. I went with an SE and bought Atlas 20 inch Mejorda Gloss Black Wheels with Tires and added 15mm Spacers. The added cost for the R Line and SEL for me don't justify the extra cost. And getting the wheels and tires like I did for $650 pales in comparison to the cost for the SEL R Line. SE has sooo much tech and value for money in my opinion. I am on a Dave Ramsey kick, I traded in a 2020 Audi Q7 Prestige 55 with the 22's for the Tiguan so I can apply more towards the house. Anyway, I don't miss the extra tech the Q7 had, just the looks lol!!

    • @golfmaniac007
      @golfmaniac007 Před rokem

      you spend extra money on larger wheels? why? more value in getting the SEL then spending on the wheels. no benefit in larger wheels except costing more and more expensive to replace. at least SEL you can enjoy upgraded leather seats and other standard equipment.

    in Europe the shorter version with 5 seats is the most common, we rarely see the long version 7 seats. in Us there s only the long version that only has 5 seats or 7 seats. you should take opportunity and try the brothers that Europeans love, the Seat and Skoda version :)

    You can actually get a 3rd row option for the 2022 SEL AWD in Canada for $800 more. Doesn't make sense why its not in the US

    I like the Tiguan. Love the German element. I've driven one and it lags a tad, but once on the highway is a beast. But will it fall apart after 30 thousand miles?

    • @heikejonassohn3492
      @heikejonassohn3492 Před rokem

      No it will not, i just turned in my base model Tiguan 2019 at 32000 miles/3years and it was still in very good condition. However living in Vermont driving on dirt roads, mountainous areas the breaks, both front and back breaks needed to be replaced. Very expensive in repairs.

    23:32 In the German configurator a third row can be selected in combination with AWD. I do believe they cut features to keep the price competitive in the US market.
    There are other options missing in US spec as well, such as the dynamic LED tail lights (apparently not allowed in the US as they change shape when the brakes are used).
    They look like this: czcams.com/video/PiMEhGzxNgw/video.html

    Got the 2022 The shifting 1st to third still isn’t good. First gear doesn’t engage until after giving gas and then shifting into second way to fast then third. Almost like giving a house a swat on the ass. Not a fun experience.
    I’m hoping to find a better way of taming this little pony.

    Only in VW World, does the "New Tiguan" looks exactly like the "Old Tiguan" with the same underpowered, gimped engine. C'mon VW, at least give the R-Line the 235 HP engine available on the Atlas. It will only cost them $25 to remap the engine...🧟‍♂️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♂️
