I prefer the look of the pre-facelift Tiguan, which is why I got a 2021 Allspace instead. The other reason for that is because they were actually available used, albeit hiked up in price considerably. After cancelling a continuously delayed order on a new Tiguan, I picked up a (barely) used black Wolfsburg edition of the Allspace for a ludicrous ~$80K. It has some of the tech upgrades of the 2021 facelifted Tiguan 5-Seater, without the capacitive touch stuff. It's been great so far these past 5-6 months. I used one of the third-row seats for my 3 year old on a round trip from Melbourne to Sydney, as I had an additional passenger that I didn't want to squash between the two kid's car seats in the middle row, and the little one was perfectly comfortable at the back. Usually though my two kids are in the middle row and the third row is down.
In the boot I easily fit a Baby Jogger double pram, a Baby Bjorn bouncer, a kids walker, and a large kids changing bag for family visits, with room to spare. Drive is actually great for an SUV, but I really notice the difference when I hop back into my bachelor days Alfa Romeo Giulietta Diesel for a quick stint, which regretfully I'm about to sell.

Currently driving a 2018 tdi all space R model. It’s a great drive and nippy in sports mode. Have had no issues in 30,000

with a score of 7.7 i didn’t hear much complaint on the review so wondering why not higher?

capacitive touch buttons on the wheel and HVAC is enough reason already

@@MrrrrMime i agree on the R-line touch buttons are horrible, but the elegance has normal ones 🤷🏻‍♂️

They gave the base model Allspace a much better facelift compared to the standard 5 seater Tiguan.

Save some money, get more space in a smaller external package and buy a Kodiaq. At least dealers get these in stock.

Aren’t they a lower spec Tiguan?

@@kenezos you might think so, but with the right model and packages selected, far from it. No Tiguan AS has a 180kW TSI engine the Kodiaq RS does. The Tig AS is nearly 100mm longer externally, but has less storage volume in all 3 seat configurations. Seats are softer but hug you better in latest Kodiaq. The list is quite long when you look at them in detail. Drive both back to back and you will notice the difference.
