- The Vilano Urbana is a wonderful folding bike but it does require modification to the seat post to make it safe for people that are over 150 lbs. The EsquireBiker shares his experience.
wow....great tips. I had no idea there were airless tires available, but now i know. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
How weight do the airless tires add. Usually they are pretty heavy and hard riding.
Thanks for the mod information, I think I am going this direction
Thank you so very much!
Super video.
Thank you bud !!
Thank you.
thanks for the reviews!!...links to the mods would be great though. (see below!)
Will Dennis I was thinking of the same thing because what if I can't find them on Amazon? Lol
Great review and mods
I only would like to know since it is 20" wheel folding bike without any suspension fork, if the solid airless tires makes the ride more stiffer than the original-provided tires when riding in trails for example.
If I get such a bike, I would probably get a dual spring seat or one of those suspension seat posts to dampen the ride a little especially for middle aged person like myself.
Thanks enjoy the ride
Thanks for your honest review! Love the simplicity and I just ordered one of these! Could you please post links to the Tannus airless tires, post sleeve, seat and flashlight holder?

Great video. You should make an affiliate link from Amazon attached to your account so people can buy everything you mention as well as give you a small kickback from amazon for sending customers to them. That's what I do. I already made a few hundred bucks.
Nice review. Can you include the links where you purchased the mods in the description? Thanks.
Would you happen to have the Amazon link to those grips?
Tnx.What about product discripetion ?
Can I use the shim that came with the bike? For the new seat post?
Where do you purchase the sleeve? Does it have a design name?
Could you use this bike as a stand up bike? I noticed the shape of the bike is very similar to some stand up bikes (just take the seat off for example). Not sure how tall the handle bars go though.
Any new updates on the urbano?
does it still fold up ok with the diff seat, grips, tires and stem? ...not such a cheap little bike anymore.
Will I need to change the seat post if I weigh 150 lb? Huge thanks for your info
Cant find the 28.6 MM version.
Can you add hand breaks on this Vilano bike?
hmmm i wonder why my seat post on this bike is rusting if it is aluminum?
Nice tire concept we have nowadays.
How much are those tires & which store?
Thanks for sharing.

Plan on a Urbana purchase to use for hiking, wish to strap the bike to my backpack. I too am 6 foot and 197lbs, so trusting your review for bike strength and modifications. Did the airless tires need special mounting levers? And what keeps the tires from rolling off the rims? Thank you for a great review of this bike! Hoping to go backpacking again and not worry about my bike being stolen while in the wilderness.... :)
Hi, just browsing for a folder like this one, backpack and airless tires are what i'd need too, yours was an old comment but did you (or anyone) do it then?
Thanks :)
Your 1-speed folder just begs for a Sturmey 2-speed kickshift like I rebuilt my rear wheel with. Unfortunately they've vanished off eBay now. There's the 2 speed automatic shifter which i haven't tried, and the 2 speed kickshift with coaster brake added on. This one sucks, i.e., you lose the option of backpedaling. It was also hard to upshift without braking so i ended up throwing it out.
TERRIFIC!!!!⭐️
I just bought one and I think Vilano started using steel seat posts. My seat post attracts a magnet; I know aluminum is not magnetic.
Thanks for the reply. Was about to run around looking for another seat post. Tested it with a magnet and mine is steel: so is the tire fork mount.
How's the vibration factor after changing over to solid tires? I have a push scooter with solid tires and it vibrates your hands like crazy depending on the road surface.
It is more than a normal air tire without doubt, but bearable.
Where are the links to the mods? Thanks for the honest review
I don't want people to think I benefit from any of this work. If you google the names in the videos, you will find the items and similar items like them. Happy biking!
I see that weight capacity is 230. Anyone over 230 ride this bike? Looking for a folding bike for 1 day a week commute 8 miles round trip. Trains won't allow me on with my fixed gear. Need another option that won't fall apart on me like one folding bike did yesterday, the pedals came off and weighed a ton it was a no name brand. Thanks!
I think the EuroMini Campo is a better value at the same $200 price point.
Gregg H May be a great alternative but certainly not as simple.
My favorite bike, too bad they are all out of stock
Just take off the seat post completely & use it as a pedal scooter! That's what I'm gonna do!!
So the entire bike needs replacing . 😒
😂
I don’t get it. This is a big sue. The company promises 230lb ok.
Sometimes it is less work and hassle to just move on.
Why buy this piece of shit bike if ur replacing every fucking piece lol.
