No he wasn't. Only 5lbs heavier and 5 inches taller. Arnold had no back and weak legs in 80. Even Stevie Wonder knows he shouldn't have won. It was an absolute farce. 4 of the Judges were Arnold's friends. You don't have to know anymore than that.

@@masonictrucker8031 he had won the title so many times and beat so many other competitors over the years, this was in 1995 so he was still a recent Mr. Olympia it was only natural that fans would hold a grudge against him. Same thing has happened to Phil Heath in more recent years.

I agree. Haney is a class act and was just ahead of his time. I think if he had competed in the 90s he never would have gotten close to 8 Olympias, but nobody else in the 80s could match up to him.

I really loved the honesty here. Bodybuilders give so much of themselves that there's just no room for posturing or being fake. They say what they feel and it was refreshing. Great ceremony.
Larry Scott was my guy. I was 15, saw Scott in the mags, he was handsome and built like every boy would like. I bought some dumbbells and that was that. He's still a cool guy.

Arnold towers over everyone else. He literally dwarfs everyone in stature. The only real tall guy of all the Olympias. He was disadvantaged with long limbs and long legs, but still crafted his physique to one of the greatest, which was 20 years ahead of its time.
Arnold's long limbs were not a disadvantage. In his best shape he easily had the most perfect physique, and no one yet has approached it. The vast majority of people recognize Arnold's body as the best that has ever existed in bodybuilding.
Long limbs can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the length of the muscle belly. Arnold was blessed with two full biceps brachii muscles that peaked marvelously. Unfortunately, his right biceps were so tremendous that it slightly dwarfed his left. One of the few marginal faults of the GOAT.

Joe during the first walk through just walked past Larry like he didn't recognize everything he did to help the sport. Larry Scott helped get the Olympia off its feet with his image and the rest just followed. They don't call him the "Golden Boy" for no reason.

I've never seen this and didn't know it existed. My jar hit the ground and I had tears in my eyes this was very moving I grew up in the late seventies early '80s and of course Arnold was the man but all these other guys were awesome too. When the narrator said we will never have them all together again that was really very prophetic and made me sad but at least they had this moment together all of them in the camaraderie was priceless! You can see Joe was visibly shaken by this I'm glad they did this for him! RIP
Frank Zane is very handsome in that suit.
Frank still looks amazing. I thought he'd maybe have a puss on, but he's got great presence and great for the sport.
I just saw him in an episode of ‘hart to hart ‘ or something. it was playing in the background on hallmark before a Columbo episode. in the beginning he was shown as a stereotypical freak bodybuilder. lifting weights, always in shorts. near the end of the show he was wearing normal shirts and pants, suit and tie. and could act a bit and came of as charming.

This was the first time I saw the Mr Olympia on tv, before that it was magazines only. I love this moment. My tv was 13 inches but everyone still looked bigger than life.

I was really touched by this. I see why bodybuilding had the appeal it's had for so long. Yes the physiques are tremendous, but it's the personalities. They're all sweet and funny, charming and intelligent. And it's all an extension of Joe and his vision of what people should strive to be. Good people sell. Joe was a great business man, but his hardships growing up in Montreal made him a compassionate, good human being that understood the needs of his bodybuilders. And it shows in how they responded to him this evening. On a side note, just watched the movie Bigger and thought they did a great job.

I know at one time, Lee Haney had received a lot of death threat letters when he beat Arnold's consecutive Olympia win record, and Haney received even more death threats when he beat Arnold's overall Olympia win record. Some of those letters even threatened Haney's wife and children. So Haney had a lot to deal with, and I can see why he retired after his 8th win. It is a shame though because Haney put it all together for his 8th Olympua win, and he could have competed for another year or two, especially since Dorian did not fully develop until a few years after Haney's last Olympia competition. But c'est la vie... Haney decided to move on to other things and to spend more time with his family and do charitable work dealing with at-risk youth.
