Once you get to this level of amp/guitar, the question changes from "Is it any good?" to "What kind of good is it?"
Just recently picked one up, unbelievable tone! This video doesn’t do it justice. You’d have to hear one in s room, the little nuances u don’t get from a video. It’s absolutely amazing!!
Captain's playing/tones were so sweet!
Over the years of watching Andertons videos, it seems that the Captain is slowly turning into BB King before our very eyes.
I'm happy to see a variety of different guitars
Super sweet tones, and that PRS, jeez!
Man, that riff again, I love that so much!
Best sounding demo you've done yet.
Lee Lee king!!
+Nicholas Dentato WIN
Dude, Cap, your best playing yet, that was delightful
HOLY CRAP, LEE, you reached your own personal dimension with that amp and ES335!!!!
I think you found your newest rig!
I forgot about this gem. Lovely amp, and that ML-3 was particularly nice too :-)
That was the greatest tone I have ever heard.
+Rabea Massaad
Where's the solo album?
+Jan Kafka More importantly.. Where's the Toska album!?
Really great playing! I loved Robs rock and Capts blues as always. Nice to see Lee playing a 335. Great amp and great video.
It's sounded great with the ML3 even on youtube so I can imagine it was sweet in the room.
I was skeptical until I heard that but now I'll have to check one of these amps out for myself. Thanks for the review guys. Thumbs up!
Amazing tone from a combo!
Wow, Lee that was a lovely bit of playing, warm and subtle, understated and really sexy. A great demonstration of the amp too!
nice i really enjoyed the getting to hear the captain!
Finally brought out the 335!! Keep using it it sounds amazing
Captain your playing is awesome you rock
I love the amp review really like the wood trim on the front
rob you are one of the best guitarists I've ever heard. seriously man
Seriously, Lee, your blues is insanely good - sweet tone!
Great dmos guys, and sweet playing too...what an amp!! Never played anything by Suhr but would love to. A bit beyond my wallet but one can dream right? You guys have some of the best demos out there and I use them often when purchasing. Thanks and keep up the great work! Jim from Seattle (Jimi!!)
Dear Captain Lee, your playing is full of soul bruder!!
hey rob I love your vids and your band keep it up
Oh God... that PRS... i'm gonna need a fresh pair of trousers...
Really nice licks Captain! Great demo for us clean freaks lol.
Capt Lee.
Such skill
Much humility
So blues
Much awesome
Wow, in love with Lee's tone in this video.
Can I just say, the captain killed it on this one! Excellent playing!
dude that tone at around 5:00 to 5:30 is just absolutely PERFECT for my band and for recording my solo ep
Some really awesome guitar in this video.
That was some really sweet blues Lee!
Bloody good tone Blokes !
Lee's playing is outstanding!
Could sit and listen to the captain playing for hours. If I can develop even half us much feel as you do I will be a happy guy, fantastic stuff, also, pretty guitars :)
Bea's tone took that one for me. Just love the sound of that ML-3
Such tone!
Nice! ... and the first time i heard Bea playing bluesy stuff on an ML3 ... great sounds!
Liked both the Cap10 and Bea play very much! Suited the signal chain ... great playing!
Referring to Rob i would call this: "another piece of 'Trio'-equipment" just not his fav java!
Could you please tell me what PUs are used in the ML3 ... thanks!
That sounds... GREAT!
sounded soooo sweet with rob's guitar !
That ML 3 that Rabea is playing is killer!
That ML3 sounds awesome
Dat Cap'n clean toan! love it!
toevallig xd
I must say, it is absolutely wonderful to hear everyone pulling out some bluesy jamming rather than the normal rams the Bea and Rob tend to sway towards. I guess I'm just a sucker for warm creamy good old 12 bars.
loved the tone with the Gibson.
Cap is definitely a blues player. And that's sweet to hear :-)
Is that reverb a bluesky ? Cause we can hear a little shimmer behind
Now that I know that Bea can do jazz too. He has really become one of my favourite guitar players.
4.16 That was epic! :D
If this amp is all about the tones then I think the captain is the best guy to demonstrate it.
Gotta get me one of these
Lee + ES335 = Guitar heaven :)
The amp sounds great with cleans....The Jimi was sweet too.
Rob needs to do a lesson on that opening riff!! Pretty please?
Damn, that PRS looks so Les Pauly in shape, don't remember PRS singlecuts being that LP-y!
The Captain with a 335 channeling his inner Robben Ford; Chappers playing the same bollocks he always plays.
Lees playing made me wanna sleep (in a good relaxing kind of way hahah)
At last you guys are using an appropriate guitar and amp combo. How many time do I see you guys run a 335 thru an Orange amp.
damn cap that playing of yours game me chills, no kidding. aspiring me right now to grap the guitar and not putting it dowin until ive figured out how to play like that!
sounds like a perfect pedal platform.
Do you do delivery with Chapman guitars?
This does sound pretty sweet.
Skip ahead to about minute 4:19 and miss all the banter.
Rob Chapman - the singularly most pompous, annoying guitar/amp demo person on YOUTube
Dem tones.
Thanks for actually showing the clean tones !
how does this compare with a hot rod deluxe as a platform for pedals?
7:44 that was great :D
whats the first thing chapman played?
Rob should do a special, on all is bits and bobs demo-playing. The intro bit was great! Other options could include: "How to impress people on the guitar store, without going Starway to Heaven."
Vill you ever import pensa guitars to andertons?
This through a 4x12 would sound great!
I didn't read very far down, so may be duplicating, but They were wrong in saying the boost goes to the power amp. It goes to first gain stage according to Suhr's website. Also, in fact, it does have a preamp section (contrary to info given at the beginning of this video). Do you guys just make this stuff up as you go, or did you forget which amp you were reviewing?
After Lee's demo, I think we should rename him Lee.Lee King!! You rocked that Blues man!
Nice song selection. I heard Purple Haze followed by Ain't Gonna Give Up On Love. Two songs from Rock/Blues greats.
Ooft, Captains tone is on point.
Don't drop down that first riff. It is amazing. Do song with it. Groovy, simple, but effective. JUST LOVE IT.
Liking some guitar variety. Nothing against Chapman guitars, but they're very over-saturated in your videos sometimes. :)
Lee 'Tone Captain' Anderton....Sweeeeeeet!!
What is the song's name he is playing at 5:28 again? Love that riff!
Rudi1441 i think it purple haze. i know its Hendrix
What's the ending song?
I don't know what it is about Rob's playing compared to Lee and Bea's, but everything always seems to sound noticeably brighter. Or, maybe Lee and Bea sound darker. Do you guys use different picks or pick in a different way or anything?
Rob has said that he hybrid picks a lot in other videos.
An idea for a 'challenge' vid; two rigs that suit beginners (amp and pedals) that can do bedroom practice level AND jam session volume too without costing too much until players find their own voice for a dearer amp? E.G. orange crush practice vs laney cub 12 or any others plus micro/budget pedals or multi effects for around £400 total budget. At the end you could compare against roland cube or blackstar id to see which feels/sounds better.
ps: for blues/rock/jazz styles.
Rabea.........dat tone!!!!!
Thats a purdy sounding amp =D
There wasn't much talking or explanation in this one, but then it really didn't need it sweet tones.
PRS guitars. Pretty amp. All three of you playing. A demo of mostly playing. Colour me sold.
what's the black guitar on the wall?
On the left? It's an Ibanez with a Kaoss pad, they reviewed it on here recently
bea is just awsome
Oh captain..... That made me moist
Get it Bea
Would one describe a chorus as shimmery?
Whats the song Rob's playing at 5:28 please?
Ryan Turner Nevermind. How could I forget Jimi!!!!!
whats that black guitar in the background?
You probably don't need the information anymore..
...but whatever!
It's an Ibanez RGKP6, relatively cheap and loaded with a Korg mini Kaoss pad,
they actually did a review.
the first riff rob plays sounds badass. anyone know what song its from or what its inspired by?
Sounds like an altered version (due to hes new? interest in countrystyle) of his usual clean doodly, dont know if he used it in a song but i agree he should :-)
I'm seeing a really clear, Hi res video here. I don't normally see an Image quality like this. my rig is the same. new camera perhaps?
Captain's got toanz, an Rabea's ML is cool
Lee that was some tasty playing with that hollow body!
regardless of the cost and the fact that it might be rather pointless as there are other amps far less expensive that would perform as well, these are some of the best driven. sounds you guys have presented aside from the silverback. the idea appeals to me if there was just a less expensive alternative. a single undrivable clean channel that takes pedals like a boss that's maybe under a grand? sign me up.
CAPTAIN LEE DROPPING A TONE BOMB
Please make a discounto for christamas on the es-335 i need one.haha
