Hombre, Suhr’s take on the classic Brownface tones that have inspired John Suhr since his early days as a guitarist. The intention was clear: create a modern take on these classic designs while preserving the vintage heritage.
We love everything that we get through the door from Suhr whether thats their guitars or amplifiers, so when we saw Suhrs new amplifier the Hombre at the NAMM show this year we couldn't wait to get them here at Peach Guitars.
In this video, Jack takes a closer look at the design ethos behind this new amp and what makes this modern take on a classic amp so special.
Let us know what you think of the Suhr Hombre in the comments below!

Thanks Peach - my Hombre arrived this afternoon and it's fantastic. I saw this video over the weekend and I was sold. Had I not bought this amp I was heading towards using the cash as a deposit on a Pete Thorn Sig guitar. So you have saved me £2000 - that's my justification. 🤘

@@YeatzeeGuitar Hey man, I love my Princeton! I've been a long time Fender blackface lover, but recently discovered the power of the brownface era. I'm not sure about 6G3 Deluxes, but original 6G2 Princetons go for between $1,700 and $2,500 from what I've seen. I paid a little more than what these Suhrs retail for new. That said, I have no doubt the Suhr is a great amp! Good luck in your search, cheers

One major regret...selling a ‘61 Tremolux! Had all this in a Blonde Head & Oxblood Grill, and matching 1 x 12” (after the 10” w/ tone ring speaker blew) Cabinet. Every time I see an amp like this, I kick myself! Needed the money. Got a fair price...but still? 😣

The original Fender Deluxe started dropping the highs at a bright volume setting of 6 in the bright channel. Dimed out the sound is not that great. 18 or 20 watts it is actually quite loud. (50 year owner of an original 63 Deluxe)

I dunno how I feel about that lower-gain semi-clean tone. It has a buzzy tint to the overtones that reminds me of a mic being clipped rather than a more mellow overdrive. Maybe that's due to the more lower-midrange focus, but... too BBQ rock for my tastes. I can see it being a popular thing, though.

Yes, it's PCB and PCB mounted tube sockets. He said "hand wired" probably by accident. Not many amp techs that I know will touch a PCB amp. For $600 more, the Down Brownie is the way to go. For a couple hundred less, Lil Dawg, Marsh and Vintagetone all do an actual 6G3 hand wired/ point to point clone.
