    I have seen This Present Darkness twice recently at local used bookstores and I almost picked it up both times, but didn’t really know anything about it. So you just convinced me that I need to get it the next time I see it!
    Love love LOVE these videos!
    I am planning to start my reread of Redwall hopefully in April.

      You won't regret reading This Present Darkness. I just reread it for the first time in 20(?) years and It stirred a fire to remember the principalities are real and I need to be more diligent in prayer.
      I'll buddy read ANY Redwall book you want! 😄 Just say the word!

    Ohhhh i remember reading Cricket in Times Square to my boys when they were small. We loved it!
    I'm excited to read Silas Marner sometime this year. I'm loving Eliot!
    DUNE!!!!!!❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
    Yeah don't read the adult Phyllis Whitney. 😅 quick dnf
    Awww your grandpa❤
    I need to read try Redwall ... I'm always intrigued when i see it at Goodwill.

      Cricket is what our pup was named and she was partially named that because of Cricket in Times Square😊
      Silas is very simple in comparison to the rest of Eliot’s work. I hope you love it like I do 💗
      ❣️❣️Dune❣️❣️
      Redwall was written first but Mossflower and a couple others come before it timeline wise. I don’t think it matters what order as long as you read either Mossflower or Redwall before the rest of the series. Medieval woodland creatures fighting for good !😊

    I read A Wrinkle in Time when I was 9 or 10 and I read the second and third books in the series when I was 12. Anne of Green Gables is an all time favorite. I didn't read The Hobbit until I was in my 20's. I read Silas Marner for English class in highschool and I really enjoyed it, but don't remember much of the story anymore. I have thought about re-reading it.

    • @novelideea
      @novelideea  Před 5 měsíci

      I love the first three books in the Wrinkle series. But the first one is the one I reread most often!
      Anne is an all time fave of mine as well.
      Do give Silas a reread ❣️ It’s not very long and so beautifully crafted.

    I am a homeschool mom of 4. My kids are 12b, 11b, 8g, 6b. It is so hard to find read alouds to reach the age gap in that crowd. 😂
    I am thankful to say we are a reading house.❤
    That comes with challenges though... i cannot screen the books ahead of them because they all read so fast!
    The choices we have in modern literature are so rarely charming and full of subjects my kids are not aware of.😮
    I am sorry to say, while i have heard of most of those books i haven't read them for myself. I did not grow up in a reading house.
    The Witch of Blackbird Pond is one I read and enjoyed!
    I am saving this video to pull ideas for our next read aloud book.

      Hi Crystal! Welcome 🤗
      I am so happy you found us and I hope you find LOTS that you can trust on here! I have a voxer (Instagram) if you have questions about a specific book or books. I’d love to help. We homeschooled 3 kids through highschool! G, B, G.
      Even if you have questions about books to fit a subject in school, I’ll try to steer you wholesomely❣️
      Again, welcome!

      Yes! I have really enjoyed this series of videos. I think I have watched them all now. Thanks so much! ♥
      I am anxious about the upcoming school year. My oldest will be in 7th grade. I am worried he may not be prepared. We will continue homeschool. He struggles in math. I am considering avenues to foster more independent learning as thus far we have done family style in all subjects (except grammar/spelling/math.)
      Any tips or thoughts about the transition from elementary to upper learning?

    • @novelideea
      @novelideea  Před 5 měsíci

      @@crystaljordan7318 we never made what grade they were in the issue/ focus. It was more “are you learning? Do you feel good about moving forward?” And trying to observe how they learned best. My Middle child needed manipulatives and ways to move while he learned. My oldest needed me to be available for constant reassurance she was doing well/correctly, but didn’t want me to hover. I personally think grade levels are arbitrary (they feel so intrinsic when you as the parent were brought up in a school system where you had to perform a certain way). My 2 oldest were never great at math, but they loved music and music theory uses a lot of math, so that became their math class. (Both did trade school and apprenticeships for their careers, but the oldest also did 2 years of University) What I’m trying to say is take him at his own pace and don’t beat yourself up over what that pace is! 🤗🥰
      I hope that helped
