This was wonderful! I remember reading some of these as a child, but you introduced me to some that I have not read, so I've added them to my TBR. I'm 61 years old but I still love reading middle grade books. ☺

This is a great way to celebrate, my favorite EB White is Charlote's Web. ( i found the book I had as a kid and snapped it up.)
I have both these books from when I was a child; Heidi and Heidi Grows up, they were a present from my Mom, they were her favorites too. My poor Heidi has seen better days so I bought a new one, I still have the one from my Mom though, I will never give it up. My first book was The Bobbseys Twins, it is excessively loved.
I first saw The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under in the animated films and then bought the books.
I fell in love with The Secret of Nimh, I love the movie too.
I first saw this as a live action tv show; The Borrowers, I bought the book and like you I fell in love.
I have always loved watching about the revolution, so I had this as a child; Paul Revere's Ride and then I saw Bert Convey play him on episode of Bewitched.
My Dad got me a series of these books, so I had; John Paul Jones, Davy Crockett, Martha Washington, I don't have them any more unfortunately and I have never run across them. Thanks for the memories.

Ohhh, Sherri, I love that your Mama gifted you with her favorites🥰
My son has all the history stories now. I hope his boys love them like he did.
I wasn't allowed to watch movies when I was growing up, so it was all books for me, until I was 12 or 13. (I did see some before then, but few and far between - Bambi and then Star Wars and then Grease... Weird progression 🤣)
It's been so fun for me to remember too, so I am glad you are enjoying it.🥰

Thanks@@novelideea my parents loved to give us books, it was always a gift on our birthdays and holidays. In fact my Mom told me about Jo's Boys when i was a teen, I had never heard of that one, we went hunting for it together in the bookstore, my Dad paid attention to what we loved on TV that came from a book and we would get them on the next occasion, (we weren't rich so gifts were always on occasions. (In fact my Dad was a salesman and he got a lot of green and blue stamps back in the day, it was how our family got alot of our gifts.) So if I was watching Ellery Queen, he got me a stack of Elley Queen books and yep, I still have them. Oh, not even Disney movies? The Rescuers was a pixar movie but that is the same thing. I watched a lot of Disney movies as child, back then you had to wait till they were brought back to theaters and go out to the movies. Many happy memories in Dad's station wagon at a double feature, in our jammies with my Mom's snacks watching a double feature of Bednobs and Broomsticks and Mary Poppins. At least you saw Bambi, but I have to say it scared me, the fire and his mother being killed broke my heart. I guess I gushed on enough, thanks for bringing up my old memories.

@@sherrirabinowitz4618 You just reminded me of a time my mom took us to a drive in movie! 🍿 it was Cat from outer space!
We were single parent household on welfare So we didn’t have tv and didn’t go to movies. We were given a tv later but only watched what was free with the rabbit ear antenna🤭😁
When I was a teen and earned my own money I went to movies 😊

Love these videos! It's bringing me back to my childhood and it's giving me great ideas for my nephews and my friends kids when they are all old enough to read with me. I pray all of them find a love of reading but I'll be happy with some. I hope to start a Bookclub with them to keep them motivated 🥰

I loved the Ramona books when I was young. I think I read Trumpet of the Swan because it sounds so familiar, but I don't really remember it. I think I read Heidi too. I adored The Phantom Tollbooth. I read it again a few years back and I liked it even more as an adult. Last year I listened to The Bunnicula books and I'm so glad that I enjoyed them because I was always so nostalgic about them. I smiled through them as I listened.

@@novelideeamy older son devoured The Boxcar Children and the Ramona and Beezus books. I think he liked the Hardy boys a bit but he loved the Warrior Car series.
Before MG lots of Curious George and Harry the dirty Dog. Before that Goodnight Moon and lots of Dr Seuss and the Jan Brett books.
And I do remember reading Charlotte's Web myself and my boys enjoyed that as a read aloud when they were elementary age. My oldest might have read it again himself. I kept shelves of books plus always at the library.
