  • Octopus Stew Portuguese Style Recipe
Finally, here it is, my Mother's Octopus recipe. I remember so well when my Mother was making it back home and showing me step by step how to make it. She made it in many different ways but this one was the one I liked best. Why? because this recipe makes the octopus softer and moister, for me this way made it easier to eat. Afterall I was very young and could not stand to look at the thing, so it was hidden in the stew with the sauce and the potatoes.

I have always had an interest for cooking, but I could never find an instructor to help me truly understand the glory of preparing food. that is until I discovered this channel whilst searching for a way to make crepes. you have inspired me to better myself with weight loss soup and improve my cullinairy skills while enjoying the learning process, and I just want to thank you and I hope you know how much I appreciate your work

Perfect authentic Portuguese recipe and ingredients. Only thing I would change is, use red wine instead of white. Also drop in a clove or two if you like. Great job!

I think most Portuguese people don't add cinnamon or thyme and we cook it in pressure cooker 25 min and octopus is done then you add potatoes and 10 minutes it's done ...plus it's easier to cut octopus white it's still thawing ....it can get slippery

boil the octopus before you add it to the stew for 20 mins and you dont need to cook it for 1 hr before adding the potato and you can add some small cut carrots black olives bay leaves and at last 10 mins coocking add some peas
