How to insert and edit Excel data within PowerPoint - PowerPoint for Mac

In this short tutorial, you'll learn four of my favourite methods to use to insert and embed Excel spreadsheets within your PowerPoint presentation file. In particular, you'll learn the difference between simply copying and pasting, pasting as a picture, embedding a spreadsheet and creating a new Excel spreadsheet from scratch within PowerPoint.
By the end of this tutorial, you'll be comfortable working with your Excel data within PowerPoint and know how to bring your data to life within PowerPoint.
Although this tutorial was created on PowerPoint for Mac, the general options and methods used are similar to those used by Windows users (P.C), so this tutorial should still be useful even if you are a Windows user.

Thanks for this video - I'm using Windows and trying to copy and embed the info into Powerpoint, but it continues to add unlimited extra rows and columns next to my chart - how can I get rid of those extra cells? I'm stumped :/

It may depend which version of PP you're using on your Mac. Which options do you have when you click the down-pointing chevron next to the Paste option within the Home tab?

You’d have to do this before bringing the file in. Not ideal and doesn’t work as well as the Windows version, sadly. I’d you insert an image version of the table then you can crop using the picture cropping option.

Any recommendations on how you get updated excel spreadsheets in your powerpoint slide? Mine does not automatically update...

Hey Hugo. Everything you can do with spreadsheets in excel on the max version has been outlined in this video. Excel for a Mac doesn’t currently allow real-time updating with a linked sheet in the same way as the windows version does, at the moment.
