    ☆ ABOUT ME ☆
    I am a former tech worker who lived in NYC for 30 years. When I reached 50, I set out my own and created a business selling on Amazon using their FBA program. Great fun, but neither career left much time for healthy living.
    I turned 60 last year (2023). I found myself 110 pounds overweight and seriously out-of-shape, pre-diabetic, with sky-high cholesterol, and unable to walk for more than 20 minutes without resting.
    I decided to make some major changes. I shut down my Amazon business and started living frugally. Health is more important than money, especially as we grow older. In August 2023 I started the carnivore diet and lost 65 pounds in 3 months.
    I’m hooked! I can walk for miles without a rest now. My cholesterol is within normal levels as is my blood pressure. I am no longer pre-diabetic, and I feel 30 years younger!
    After experiencing the benefits, I’ve become passionate about sharing my story to help others.

      @@Jaylwoodworth I bet you are really missing the steaks now. You might find some water buffalo and I have heard that is not too bad, but very lean.

      I found a Chinese restaurant! They have chicken and pork dishes! It’s not perfect - spices and sauces - but so much better than noodle soups.

    Just got back from 3 months in Rishikesh where the sale of meat is illegal. I am usually eat a meat-centric keto diet that helped me recover completely from two heart-attacks and extremely high BP and shrank a meningioma brain tumour to almost nothing. After 3 months of nothing of vegetarian food I returned home with a gut, overweight, high blood pressure, brain fog, constant low-grade headaches, and my tumour returned!! Three days of strict carnivore and I feel great and my blood pressure is 117/73, no brain fog, no headaches. The other thing that struck me is that the cows in India are, of course, allowed to wander anywhere and are not abused in anyway. However, they often get hungry enough to eat trash and cardboard (and bellow with stomach aches) and seem to be always hungry. They often also live their lives out in a very unnatural environment of cars, concrete, noise, and pollution. Coming home to Australia, I was taking the train back to my home in a country town here and looked over the paddocks of lush grass with black Angus cattle grazing as the sun went down. The fat cattle's hides shown with health, seemingly completely happy to be able wander and eat to the heart's content in such a beautiful natural environment. Of course, these Angus cattle will have one bad day. But, in the balance of things, don't they live much happier lives than those of India? Something to think about. It certainly has made me switch to buying my meat exclusively from online, home-delivered, ethical, cruelty-free, family-run cattle farmers.

      So you understand what it’s like to be in a place where carnivore is difficult 🙂. I’m glad you were able to step back into it easily. I’ve been experiencing some of the same symptoms that you mentioned, so am glad that I’m back to eating more meat. It’s not easy here, but after a couple of weeks getting used to the culture I’m realizing that it is possible.

    The only issue I have with eating in India is the incessant handling of food during and after cooking. I get sick very easily unlike some friends who have cast iron stomachs. The communal way of eating with everyone using their hands turns my stomach because I have been really, really ill in these places from food contamination.

    • @Jaylwoodworth

      I got sick on my third day here, and everyone in my group got sick at some point during the first week. It hit hard but was over in 12 hours. We’ve all been fine since. But you do have to be careful. No raw foods, only eat at places that are busy, and any meat should be well/-done.

    My boyfriend is from Dehradun. You have to cook everything yourself if you want meat. Lived of chicken, egg, mutton, ghee and dahi and paneer. Worked ok. Everything you bye out is drowned in hexane extacted soybean oil, and is basically worse than McD. The meat atvthe bucher is usually fine, killed the same day. 😊

      A few days have passed since I made this video. I think the worst thing has been my sleep. I sleep really well for 4-5 hours, and then wake up craving food. And some brain fog during the day. I’m exercising a lot though - hiking, etc., and I think I’ve lost some more weight.

    The problem with eating high carbs like noodles and bread is that you get hungry very fast, then you start snacking and then you start overeating and then you gain back your weight.. Stay away from these high carbs. If you crave high carbs, eat an apple or banana.

    • @orion9k
      @orion9k Před měsícem

      @@Cleofizoid yes they do but they are some what isolated in fibers, so it takes longer for the body to obtain it in the blood, so it gives a more steady but slow blood glucose increase.
      Obviosly you don't want to consume fruit juice, that will completely ruin your blood glucose levels if you deal with insulin sensitivity and obesity.
