I could literally listen to Dorian all day. It's just decades of experience oozing out of him in a really chilled and relaxed manner. No ego, just pure nuggets of gold.
Couldn’t have said it better myself👌🏻
and not only experience, this guy has a lot of knowledge that you not only get from training, but has to read a lot
Same here Brother..Absolutely agree with you...!!!🤝🏻😊✌🏻

@@user-te5ro1yl1l 😭😥🤡🤡
Dorian demolished you with this one😂
You're such a champ for being in a constant state of learning. Zero ego. Student mode. Love it
Juiced up without ego!
*Tbh Mike considering that he's on juice he doesn't have much size at all.. if he was natural he'd look like the average dude that looks like it's his first year into fitness*
@@stansmith5610 He is pretty big
@@stansmith5610Spoken like a true fat person😂
He is natty guys.....😅
lmao Yates is so right, there's some "Experts" on the web that would dare criticize him
There are those. Damned fools they are, I couldn't disagree with a thing he instructed
Wow you are gamer and lifter to, great.
Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Sorry to tell you Zanar, but it’s not because some dude has been lifting for years that he’s beyond reproach. Especially since these greats have been pumping themselves full of roids for years, often doing absurd training that would result in injuries for most naturals. I know Yates is some kind of god to you British, but that clouds your judgment. Same with Arnold, I pretty much watched all his training videos and read his massive bodybuilding book, lots of the advice is basically wrong if scrutinised today, but Arnold got away with it by pumping full of roids and avoiding injury that way.
@Nickboy395 I'm not discounting what you're saying in ways. But I think I would defend what I think he intended to mean by his comment, if my exegesis is correct.
It seems that Zanar has criticized the kind of people that so often criticize others who have achieved greatness, regardless of roids or no roids, to talk about all kinds of distracting fitness philosophies or they make these "scientific" pontifications that take time away from productive training and the impressive results that a human can achieve.
For examples to what I think we're critical of Peter Katcherian (might have spelled his last name incorrectly) often speaks to this and Geoffrey Verity Schofield also did in a video called "Typical Hardgainer Bullsh*t"
And if you think about what was said in this video and those I referred you to, I think you can respect the dialectic that we're persuaded of, even as imperfect as it is.

It's like watching Mike Mentzer if he had managed to live longer. Thanks for this, Thurston.
Mike was 40.year before his time... Al people no mather if they are scientist. Doctor, or mike mentzer... Today even Charles glass training many of hes bodybuilders like mike told.... If you doing this right you want to die after last rep.. Its werry effective but not many do it right.... Bless you al out there 💪🧙♂️
"SKA-WEEEEEEEEEEEZE!"
God I love Dorian so much. His Blood & Guts video was my pre-workout in college.
23 minutes once a year with Dorian.
It’s not enough. Liked this to have been longer.
Sometimes unedited and the actual length of the workout 45-60 minutes is better.
Great student mentality Mike, i like how hes not letting his ego get to him and listening very well to one of the best coaches!
Dorian definitely is letting his ego get to him though, which is a bit disappointing
@@James-iz9qb 6 time Mr Olympia, one of the best bodybuilders in history. He's entitled to have an ego, guy knows what he's talking about.
That is why Mike is at the top rn. Even though he is blessed with 1% genetics, he still is able to put aside his ego to get better
You'd have to be an idiot to be in the gym with the likes of Dorian Yates or Ronnie Coleman or Arnie and not shut your mouth and open both ears.
@@James-iz9qblol so you saying he should listen to YT keyboard warriors when it comes to training? don't be a 🤡 mate 😂😂
These training videos with dorian are pure gold pls continue them as often as you possibly can
These videos with Dorian and you Mike are some of the best training videos out there both in terms of information and entertainment. Love it!
LOVE these sessions with DY. He's so knowledgeable and can really point to the small things that change a good workout into an exceptional one!
Thanks for sharing this
Dorian is a hub of information ! Doing this shoulders/tris workout today 💪
I think this is one of the best video you have ever published.. this man is absolutely a genius, you deserved him and the training went gorgeous! Support from Italy 🇮🇹 Mike
I love this sort of "series" with Dorian Yates, just so professional and informative. Definitely looking forward to you doing a back session with Yates to complete the series. And maybe Abs thrown in there.
Mike’s face when Dorian asked “you wanna do one more?” 😭 so relateable 20:33
Dorian is a true legend, and a nice guy always happy to share his knowledge.
Absolutely glued to this footage! Felt like I was reading a book!! 👏🏼 A wealth of knowledge.
Dorian was HUGE. Lessons from the man. Great vid!
Dorian is a different breed. You have to come ready for this guy. Absolute fountain of knowledge when it comes to training. A gym sage.💪🏾
Bro! Your workouts with Yates are the best. I always feel motivated after watching them.
Love this workout sessions with DY. Keep it going Mike.
Its so wholesome knowing Mike trained Dorian in his days and now Dorian is training another Mike in his days
Crazy timing, been watching loads of Mike mentzer and Dorian yates lately and I’m so time restricted lately with gym so thinking off giving there style of training a go
When the teacher becomes the student, and both show an amazing amount of respect towards one another. So good
Great job!!!
Very informative and great to see you in there with the champ !
Words cannot express how amazing it would be to have Dorian Yates coach / spot you through your workout. I'm getting chills just watching. Can't imagine how nervous/pumped you must have been.
This is the first time I've ever actually watched Dorian in action in the weight room. I'd train with him in a second.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing your session with Dorian🙏 So great to gain some of his wisdom💯
The biggest 'skill' was nailed imo there...listening, by far the most important. It can be so easy for all of us to get complacent, even people who are as successful as you Mike, awesome vid
Yesterday I watched both of your previous workout videos with Dorian & today unexpectedly you post this one. The timing is hilarious lol….Keep them coming 🔥💪
Yates is a legend. Props to him for breaking the mold of "conventional" splits for bodybuilding, sort of following the Mike Mentzer HIT protocol.
Great combination of the old and new school influence on the industry / sport, always a great watch, can proudly say I went through those sessions with DY in M13, the DY doms hit different!
As someone who is not completely new to training but has been on years of hiatus and lack knowledge, these vids are of great help getting back on the right track. Very informative and straightforward, no bs no marketing no sponsors or product placement just pure training and helpful tips! Keep up the work dude, you are in great shape!
Great stuff DY. I’m glad he was the man when I started training. 25 years later and I’m still learning from him!
Literally doing my Thursday push day at the gym and then this video came up with my two favourite fitness guys Dorian and Mike 😁
I dont really watch a lot of your content Mike but this was an amazing video with so much knowledge. Well done man 👍
I love all your videos with Dorian. Great stuff brav !
Amazing session - Dorian is such a legend.
Man I actually have to pause this when I go do something because I don't want to miss ANY of what he's saying. What a goldmine. Great vid, mikey lookin insane as usual
Dorian dropping some serious knowledge here. Made the workout seem so simple!
Never seen your channel before decided to watch this. Excellent job! I have mad respect for Dorian since he's retired. His honesty and openness is refreshing. I'm 55 now and looking back on my body building career I totally overtrained in my 20s . I make better gains now by doing less and apply Dorian's principles. I was at the Olympia to witness Lee Haney ( The Goat) break Arnold's record. I passed Dorian after but didn't dare say a word to him cuz he was so dejected and pissed off I thought he would rip my head off. Haha. Your looking good! Keep up the great videos!
It's like a masterclass in anatomy every time Dorian Yates features here. Love it!
I enjoy listening to Dorian. Very knowledgeable
Always learn so much from Dorian watching these vids ..he explains all the small details to explain exactly the reason behind what he's showing you. 👍
Love these sessions. Mike getting absolutely worked
I love these annual training sessions with old Dor . Every year you look bigger Mike . 💪💪💪
Amazing video, Mr Dorian Yates keeps things very simple and it brings so much clarity to executing movements safely. Thanks Mike for suffering on our behalf. As always the content is superb.
The Picture of Dorian Yates - Greatness in simplicity. Such humility and effective straightforwardness in his words and demeanor. Much appreciated, Mike & Co. 🤝 Pure gold.
I’m literally training my shoulders at home and wanted to stream a video on the tv, what a coincidence! Fire collab as always 🔥

What an incredible experience. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for posting this. Dorian gives so many tips and concepts here!
Mike your an impressive student under the expert tutelage of Dorian "The Shadow" Yates. The legend and the Greatest Bodybuilding Champion is now the best in Coach in the world. I'm glad to see Dorian looking so well compared to some of his counterparts from his era. Smashing out all those monster weights and injuries over the years has taken toll on many professional bodybuilders. Excellent video guys enjoyed it thoroughly. A huge thanks to Dorian, Mike and the team.
Tried this workout today and I definitely can feel the pump! Thanks a lot
Excellent training video. Thanks for posting this.
Mike, that shoulder pump was insane after the cable laterals
Dorian yates became my favorite body builder... i love the fact that he is a professor in bodybuilding
this is the type of video i like to see! GJ! Quality content
Such quality content this! Must be great to get to train with such a legend
8:51 so crazy how mikes back works as an anatomy chart proving dorians point perfectly
Perfect timing boys. Literally started Dorian's routine a couple weeks ago thanks to your other vids with him and i'm doing this session with my training partner tonight. God has his ways 🙏
Amen brother 🙏
What’s his routine/split if you don’t mind me asking? 😊
Chest biceps / delts triceps/ back/ legs. 💪

Where do you find the specific plan
I just subscribed to your channel after seeing these vids of you training with Yates! 💪
Two days ago before workout I was watching your videos with Dorian and I was thinking how you haven't worked these muscles with him. I would love for you to do a video with him in the future on warming up and injury prevention, because Dorian's knowledge is really vast. My favorite bodybuilder.
Great session with the master himself.🔥🔥🔥
- DB Shoulder Press
- Lateral Raise
- Single Arm Cable Lateral
- Shrugs
- Tricep Pulldowns
- Laying Tricep Extension
- Overhead Tricep Extension
Why would you do laying and standing overhead lol, you just do laying skull the. Standing French
Been waiting on this 👍💪🔥🔥
Such an amazing trainer 👏👏👏👏 would love to see more videos with him please ❤❤❤
Ive always found myself going heavy on side laterals (and shoulders in general) has been the key to big delts. Most people ive known who advocate for slow controlled movement or higher reps on delts had smaller shoulders than me and whenever I worked lighter/slower my delts soon started lagging
pressing 45 kg dumbbells overhead for 8 reps with good ROM at Mike's bodyweight is seriously impressive for a guy mainly focused on overall aesthetics. Very advanced
💉
@@andreapatti7167 most likely, but it's still impressive regardless
I mean given what he looks like it is exactly what I would expect.
Obviously it is advanced
@@Antonio_Serdar yeah I dunno about that. Mike's chest is more aesthetically impressive than his shoulders, but when he trained Bench with larry wheels, he maxed out at 140kg for 2 reps. I'd say this was more impressive than I expected
@@onetwo8847 true
great training video , enjoyed this one more than the usual
Man great video mike, i would love to have him as a coach, an absolute legend
This is amazing! Great to see Mentzer’s concepts live on through Dorian, legends passing the torch. I broke through 5 years of plateau using a similar low volume, high intensity HIT routine.
Without partner it wont work ?
@@climate-moneymakingcampaig305 most of Mentzer’s exercise selections are machine/assisted selections. I don’t need a partner to go to failure and forced reps on a leg extension or pec deck. Drops sets to failure are the alternative for things like barbell curls and leg press.
@@blitz091methzer was against drop sets as they add volume. You're doing volume.
@@Mantastic-ho3vm I don’t do Mentzer’s exact protocol, I do more volume then he prescribes. More importantly, bro did you seriously follow me to another video just to comment LOL? Get a fucking life stalker
Intense workout. Definitely need a training buddy with this kind of workout.
Dude, all of the Doran colab videos are always Awesome!
Great video, nice explaining on how to do exersice 💪
Mike my man, you're putting in SERIOUS work on this session!
cringe
He’s literally doing a handful of exercises meanwhile naturals grind for fcking hours in the gym 😂 way harder than that.
@@Bahamut3525 Don't care if he is or isn't on gear. 🥱
@@Darkest_of_Winterignore these ignorant kids

I think there's one reason why people criticize Dorian's method. It's because they never really train past failure each and every workout. Instead, they do high-volume workouts to fatigue the muscle but not really creating that muscle hypertrophy.
@@oldskoolbodybuildingroutin7178
I was saying why he is being criticised. As long as you train smart and leave everything in the gym, following with a proper diet and recovery regiment you should in theory grow regardless of HIT or high volume (probably a combination of the two would yield the best results). Muscle building is an awful lot more than just workouts method , starting from genetics, lifestyle, supplements, anabolics etc… To assume that most of the hit people are small and volume people are big, is a poor comment nonetheless.
@@oldskoolbodybuildingroutin7178 90kg at 177cm with visible abs. Max bench press 200kg for 2 reps, boy ain’t small. Cheers!
Dorian is honest and knows EVERYTHING! Amazing teacher 💪🏻
gotta love dorian, his personality alone makes him my favorite bodybuilder
Imagine training with Dorian every day !!!!
Dorian was spot on when he speaks about volume.
If « Volume » was the main driver of hypertrophy, everyone would simply add sets and get bigger.. but that’s not how this work.
Amazing video! 👍💪
No. That's retarded. Volume with load and tension is the prime driver of growth.
How good is this man, could listen all day
Absolute masterclass of a shoulder and tri workout with the goat
I like how Mike is trained by his dad 😎
What a awesome & no nonsense guy Dorian is, love watching you guys train, how could anybody criticise him, he is & was a monster. 💪🏽👍🏽
Loved the vid. Pumped up for a session now but need a rest day 😪
this man is making sense. HIT Training is the way.
Great workout guys , Mike is a strong guy 45’s for 8 is quite a feat, brief and brutal hard work just as it should be. Best rgds to you both. Dorian is great mentor & trainer. Si
45 for 8 with dorian assisting every rep lol
45 kl or 45lb?
It’s really not that great at all 😂 I think it’s abit embarrassing tbh. My 20yr old brother no where near his size does 45’s. I’m not saying it’s light but Jesus at least be able to get 10 out
Incredible video, very instructive !
Your so fortunate to train with a legend like Dorian 👍🏻
I'm looking forward to the inevitable podcast with Dorian Yates, on First Things Thrst inshallah.
When is this happening, that’s a defo watch

Love these DY sessions with Mike
Amount of knowledge and simple explanations on what works and what matters .. DY 💪
The workouts are so intense that Mike needs to take months to recover from them.
I see Dorian I like
Loved it, I hurt my shoulders 6 months ago and slowly getting better. I've been doing the lying down dumbbell stretch for a few months. it stretches your abs a bit too. triceps video next I think
I’ve never heard Dorian speaking or giving advice, but what a guy! He just speaks total, honest sense with excellent advice!! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
fun fact:
i will be a famous youtuber
Dorian and Andrew Tate need to collaborate next.
Both direct, blunt and take no bs!
