This how to fast castle guide will help you master the fast castle and it is a build order that i recommend that all new players and low level players learn first. The main aim of the aoe2 fast castle is to be able to boom your economy through quickly advancing to the castle age and making 2 town centres. There are other strategies that involve the aoe2 fast castle. There will be video's around these in the future. Learn how to Fast castle by following the fast castle build order below:-
6 vills to sheep
4 to wood (with LC)
1 boar
1 build 2 houses then berries
4 berries (lure 2nd boar with villager from food)
2 boar, move 2 weak villagers to farms
5 wood with 2nd lumber camp
3 gold
Loom
Click up to feudal age
make farms with sheep villagers, total of 9 farms.
once feudal arrives, make a market with 2 villagers and a blacksmith with 1
make 2 villagers to send to wood.
Click up to castle age

This build order is exactly what I needed to up my game. I can finally destroy the AI consistently on closed maps consistently, whereas before I was struggling so much because it would beat my up times to the point where by the time I got to click up to imp, the AI would already be storming my gates with mass units, now they don't even put up much of a fight.

Dude how did you deal AI's archers? I tried vs hardest AI, he comes with 4-5 archers first and few minutes 20 something archers/skirms show up and I get killed :(

hey great video! really simple and easy to understand. If u continue to show build orders it would be nice if u would make little summarys in between like 'now u should have 9 on wood, 5 farms... etc.' it would make it a bit more followable still great vid!!

That’s awesome mate. Really glad it’s helped. Keep practicing and you’ll get there! When you do start on the ranked ladder, accept that you’re gonna lose a lot of games until you get to the right level. And then it will become more fun. Just gotta get those early losses out of the way

Last time I looked I reached castle age at an abysmal 30 minutes in. I think even bringing it down to 18 minutes would be a massive improvement
Just takes practice with hotkeys and getting used to listening for the villager creation sound
@@MorleyGames1 I thought it can be done without hot keys? Lol standard HD is stupid. I was battle ready at 40 minutes in and they already had 40+ infantry with gunpowder firearms! WTF!!! beaten AGAIN!

No problem! I would recommend not using this on an open map like arabia. This is mainly for closed maps like hideout, black forest and arena. For open maps, you should start trying feudal age rushes such as the archer rush or scout rush

@@MorleyGames1 i'll check your aoe2 vídeos; i've recently downloaded the DE to play with my friends on 2v2, 1v1 and 1vALL, but i've never played more than campaings in the past so i'm trying to stay tuned with mechanics and strategies on early - mid Game, specialy on early. Do you have a defensive/counter rush tutorial? That would be nice becouse as far as i've search through mainly the offensive tutorials pop up, thank you for replying!
Emma Aya no problem! Hopefully these will help. I’m planning on doing a unit counters tutorial and a scout rush vs archer rush guide which tells you the pros and cons of each which will include a bit about how to defend from them. Also planning on doing a top 5 tips for beginners. In terms of build orders for defence, there aren’t any really... I guess attack is the best form of defence. It’s more a case of knowing the units that counter other units

Quick tip, after reaching 200 gold move your 3 vills to stone and make a fast castle

Unless that leaves you with less wood than you need for a market/blacksmith. Plus you need stone for both TC's.
@Captain Danger 100 wood for a mining camp means you will not build a blacksmith/market with this build order. 200 stone for TC's and you are back to zero. You need 650 for a castle. Simply moving the 3 gold vils to stone isn't exactly what I'd call a "fast" castle. You'd be better off send a couple vils to stone in the dark age or something.

Yeah was aimed at beginners who aren’t quite confident in pushing deer. I just released a 13 minute FC build for malians that includes deer pushing

Hi, nice guide - thanks. As this vid is 3 years old do you still think this is a good build order? I ask because it's one of the 1st search results on YT and i notice that you're 13:30 into the game with no military. I find in around 75% of games the enemy would have sent 5 scouts over to your base by that point and looking at your position here I think that would have done a lot of damage. I much prefer focusing on economy but find i have to create feudal age troops so i'm not caught with my pants down.
Or is the idea that you survive any rush attempt and then hit castle way earlier than your opponent, setting up counter attack?
Hi mate, my videos are purely to show the build order steps. I think i also mention in the video that this isn’t really suitable for arabia and is more of an arena strategy. Can be ok for 3v3 or 4v4 on arabia but you would need to wall.
If you’re on a map like arabia in a 1v1 then scout rush or archer rush is what you want.
Yes my older videos are still the best for new or low level players as they don’t push deer. Current meta (and my latest builds) is to push deer

Hey! Yes, that’s right, they went to wood although they probably could have gone to farms. Could even go to stone if you were considering a castle.

I’ve gotten feudal to 10-11min consistently but flop good to castle age. Always at 24 or so when I finally get there. Hopefully this will help me get it below 20min

I'm trying this strat on xbox against Hard AI - I had a couple of hiccups here and there but still met Castle Age at around 16:30 game time. However, when Castle Age was at about 60% I got rushed by 5 scouts and had no military to defend myself. Am I doing something wrong? I have heard the AI is more aggressive on Xbox, but I don't know that to be true necessarily.
No you’re not doing anything wrong. Fast castle is best for maps like arena where you are walled. Scout rush is best for beginners. I don’t think AI is more aggressive, it’s just built around competitive meta play to an extent so it tends to feudal age rush
How can i tweak this idea to not be so vulnerable in open maps? Started playing yesterday and having a blast learnin every civ

How are you getting the villagers to go from Que to a task? I cant figure it out
From the town centre straight to a resource? When you have your town center selected, right click on the resource to set a gather point

Depends on what you mean decent. If you keep playing eventually you will get matched with people around your ELO so you will be DECENT all the time :)
I'm very new to the game. I'm confused, it doesn't look like you are commanding the villagers. They just do what you want immediately after spawning. Is this pre-loaded or something?
Hi! Yes this is using a replay rather than live gameplay. I use hotkeys so all you would see is the camera flicking around all over the place :) this way is so people can see exactly where villagers are going to. Also, welcome to the game! Let me know if you need help with anything
I think one of my downfalls is once I have 5 farms going I start to queue up and spam reseed which uses up a ton of my wood.
Just use the auto reseed button at the mill if you are playing on definitive edition. No need to queue farms :-)
why don't you put the house in the build order?

It depends on what army you are making but generally 40-50 on both wood and farms and 20-30 on gold, 10 on stone.
What if you don’t find enough sheep?
You should be able to find them unless your opponent has stolen them as you will only use the first 4 before you collect boar. If your opponent has stolen them, you will need a couple of extra farms made earlier

I don’t have an xbox. You can still do this on xbox. It’s just a order of where to send villagers
Summary:
4 on berries
7 on sheep and boar
2 on farms
8 on wodd
3 on gold

16 minutes isn't much of a 'fast' castle, to be honest. You can cut that number down to 15 minutes (25 vils or even 24) and still have enough wood to drop 2 TCs on castle age, and that's just my own homebrew build. someone knowledgable could lower that number even more. If my criticism seems a bit unfair, I blame it on the state of AoE2. The playerbase has gotten so good over the years that you really cant afford mediocre builds, you need to be as sharp as possible. So I guess this is fine for AI, but for ranked, I don't think it will hack it.
Hi, this was just a walkthrough of the Cicero build and is designed for beginner players. The standard fast castle that you would do on arena would include deer pushing and can be done at 24+2 without loom :-) even on arena, a 3 TC boom is not worth doing nowadays. You certainly don’t want to be doing this on open maps like arabia, even in team games. In team games you’d maybe want to do FC knights or unique unit in the pocket position although even team game meta has changed now.
@@MorleyGames1 Thanks for the reply. I didn't mean to get too critical, not all builds have to be 100% efficient, given most players don't even play ranked. Guides like these are still worth it for the majority who play only SP or co op.
@@windblownleaf6450 no worries mate, you’re absolutely correct in your comment that This can be done quicker, it’s just that this is aimed at beginner players who can’t push deer. To be honest, there’s not many maps that you’d want to do this build order on anymore it’s quite out dated. Maybe amazon tunnel or Black Forest but then you have to factor in sending a villager to wall up the choke points.

@@MorleyGames1 there is a simulation within the game of aoe2 that you can do. clicking castle at 12 minutes or sooner earns gold. clicking castle at 14 minutes or later earns silver clicking castle at 16 minutes or later is bronze

how did you get your villager automatically on the second boar?
I didn’t, this was a replay of a game i played previously to demonstrate. I prefer to make guides from replays so that the screen isn’t flicking around everywhere from when i use hot keys
