I'm no expert when it comes to number of puppies, but three sounds like a perfect first litter for a first-time mama! (Kinda like Goldilocks and the 3 bears -lol!) So encouraged that all 3 are pointing headfirst and the measurements show Apple's pelvic outlet should be able to accommodate their little heads. Like everyone else, praying for safe delivery with healthy puppies- looking forward to seeing the new babies!

When she was sneezing, she was counting the puppies for you. 3 sneezes, 3 puppies! Congrats sending good thought and prayers your way. Apple has definitely been on my mind❤
The nesting is mostly just intense digging - sometimes outside in the groung, sometimes in bedding. Instinctively, she's preparing a place to have the pups.

Wow that’s really cool to see, I never did X-rays on pregnancies because of the dangers as you mentioned accept for during som e difficult deliveries at the vet but never actually got to see those, so great to see this and best wishes for apple and the puppies, hoping for a safe and good delivery.

My King Charles Cavalier puppy's mother was her first litter and I think she had three to four. I read a book about King Charles Cavalier Spaniels that was written by Jordan Honeycutt and you were one of the resources she used. There is a chapter on Potty training and I instantly recognized it was you're advice from you're CZcams videos. Take care!
Yes, I was contacted by the publisher and asked to do a read through, and make suggestions. They should have known that I would have LOTS of suggestions!
So excited for Apple! Can you share more about the issues with single puppy litters? I know that socialization is a concern, but are there other potential problems? My sweet Black and Tan boy was a singleton, but he was raised with another litter. He’s about 1.5 years old now, and he’s a little sweetheart.
The main problem with singletons is that they sometimes grow very big in the uterus, since there is no competition for space. When that happens, a c-section is often warranted. Also, the mother may have difficulty producing milk, since so little of what she has is being consumed, and production slows. However, those is the only problems I've seen with them, and there should be no lasting effects of being an only child.
That makes sense. I met his mother, and I don’t believe he had to be delivered by c-section. I do know that the breeder put him with a similarly aged litter to nurse and to be socialized, so perhaps milk production was an issue. Thank you so much for your wonderful content. ❤

Is this her first litter?
Yes - she's not quite 3 years old yet, and we don't even start the parenting process until they are over 2 and health tested.
