    Will never get tired of watching this type of action. Looking forward to getting home to Aus, and entering the construction/mining feild

    It's the same control setup that you would find on a small Cat excavator. Foot pedals control the travel, two joysticks control the shovel functions and the clam is controlled by a trigger switch on the joystick to open and close it.

    I appreciate that you are an expert in this field, but I just wanted to add a generalization which may be useful for the "general public":
    General purpose machines have wide tracks to reduce the ground pressure, this makes them more stable on soft ground commonly found on building and greenfield sites. This machine spends all it's life on hard rock in known conditions.
    Also wide tracks would make this machine unstable if rocks get under the tracks while traveling.

    Justin , do the operators maintain their machines daily grease , oil check fluids , fuel , etc , or does the companies have Oliers & mechanics that do that between shifts ? i use to have oilers and mechs , so other the clean the windows etc , i just operated that all . great video , thanks .

      @TJV83 Před 5 lety

      I’d say the company has oilers and fuelers, the operators clean their own windows. That’s the way the company I work at is.

    I know and believe it or not, this machine has the wide ones from what I'm told! But you have to remember these arn't construction excavators. Wide track pads are no good for big shovels.

    The worst machine Caterpillar ever made, along with the 5230.
