After doing all that it went back to connect a usb storage device
I did what you said, but returned to the same error that i had in the start..... Do i just try again or initialize?
This video literally saved a mans life! Lent my ps4 to a friend for a few days. Got it back today and it started doing this to me so I downloaded the update onto usb and was about to do it that way when it decided to let me know I’d lose everything, way to many hours in save games to lose doing that. Yep, I've had nothing but problems since update 7.02. PlayStation worked perfectly till it update to 7.02. Nothing but errors since. Got it to work for awhile by rebuilding the database. But now it just shuts off after being on for a couple minutes. I'm doing an initialize now. Hopefully it can fix the problem

To anyone that reads the comments before trying this I did the exact method except it goes back the the original screen, tried downloading with internet again didn't work again and now it only allows the 7th option the initiate one.

When i get to the “downloading update file” part it takes a while to tell me number of MB and seconds, and when it does show me, it freezes.
after a long while of it frozen, it says “cannot access system storage” and “turn off ps4”
Omg so I had another ps4 a while back and it did this to me couldn’t get it to work wouldn’t do shit and so my dad just gave me his and he bought himself a new one so last night I was blowing sum of the dust off it and I rubbed my finger along the air vents to get the dust out and it turned off I unplugged it and plugged it back it and it went to safe mode and then a few min later I tried going through with the process of safe mode again and it restarted and now my game is fine now shit is fuckin weird I was literally bout to give up gaming lmaoooo

Right. if it tells you to insert usb then turn ps4 off then hold it down. It will remove the screen and put it into normal safe mode

In case it makes a difference, I have the slanted angular front design PS4 rather than the flat fronted shown in your video. Just sharing in case others with slanted front versions find it doesn’t work for them either.

Okay this could be a long shot but if I use a usb will it work, I wasn't connected to my Internet and when I got home to jump on once I set up this happens, so I can't connect to the internet via the ps4 unless I'm at the house where I was connected.
