This is one of the better 360 videos I've seen. Unlike regular shop tours that had a very linear perspective, this 360 tour allows for detailed spacial awareness that just can't be achieved with normal filming technique. Good video guys, and thanks for it!

Great, at last i can imagine where everyone is and where they do stuff when watching them at work.... 360 is awesome, in 2k the quality is nice on pc, 4k is perfect, but most of the time, with to many ppl on the internet, with me doing some side work on net, it buffers a lot on 4k :(((. But i could totally watch some "regular" episode in 360, that would be epic!
I love this 360 series, it's informative, and it allows the audience to gain a greater appreciation for your team, tools, and skill

you have to move the video/screen/frame. if he's in the center the sound will be normal. if he moves to the right, the sound will move accordingly. just adjust the frame.

Yup they are in lower resolution because for the same amount of pixels they have a wider area to cover, just up it up to 2k or 4k and it will be supportable :)

I know this is an older video but do you have any more information on where to get that knife edge wheel? Would be invaluable for kitchen knife making.
what i really recommend as a north-ridge belt grinder ive got one bolted to a table and it is a beast ive taken a 3 quarter inch 1 foot long bar of 5160' into sparks in under a minute i also recommend a glow forge lazer cutter/engraver both have about a two year waiting list

im surprised how small your shop is. i come from a sheet metal shop, so we deal with 10' hydraulic shears, power brakes, and rollers and a lot of the projects take up a large amount of space. it feels very claustrophobic to me, but i guess you dont need that much room when you are working with metal thats only 3'-4' long.

I mean the smaller ones I get but really
Probably so that they don't have to change belts often when they want to use different grit sizes for the same build.
they are also a big shop and need enough so multiple people can grind at a time if they get in a bind. it also helps in case one goes down they don't have to stop doing business.
It's literally so they don't have to change their belts / contact wheels so often, as he said they have different contact wheels on different machines and a contact wheel often defines what sort of grind you are doing, these machines take a bit more work to change a contact wheel to what i'm used to working on so I can see it saving them a lot of time to have machines pre-setup for different grinds. The shop I work in we have 5 polishers and we each have our own machine but we change our contact wheels / belts / polishing wheels quite often so we use 5 horse power pedestal machines (similar to what they use for their scotch bright work) and these machines are easier to change wheels and belts on so we don't need multiple machines set up for different things.
