മഹാകവി ഒളപ്പമണ്ണയുടെ 'ബകവധം' എന്ന കവിതയിൽ കുഞ്ഞിക്കണ്ണൻ എന്ന കഥകളി നടന്റെ നിത്യ പട്ടിണി, അരങ്ങത്ത് ബകന്റെ മഹാവിശപ്പിലേക്ക് പകരുന്നു. ഇവിടെ അഭിനയവും അനുഭവവും രണ്ടല്ലാതായിത്തീരുന്നു.

ബാലചന്ദ്രൻ ചുള്ളിക്കാട് കുറച്ചു മാസങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പു ചെയ്ത പ്രഭാഷണണത്തിൽ മണിമേഖല ഞങ്ങൾ രണ്ടു കൂട്ടുകാരികൾ ആയിരുന്നു ഇപ്പോഴും ആ ബന്ധം നില്ക്കുന്നു മേഖലയെ ഒരിക്കലും മറക്കുകയില്ല. ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ കൃഷ്ണപിള്ള സർ എഴുതിയ രമണനിലെ കഥാനായിക ചന്ദിക ആണ് മേഖലയെ മാത്രമെ സ്നേഹിച്ചിരുന്നുള്ള സാർ ഒരു കാലത്തു കളിയാക്കിയിരുന്ന മണി ഇന്നില്ല. മേഖലയുടെ വളർച്ചയിൽ എൻ്റെ മുഖം വാടകയില്ല രാത്രിയുടെ മറവിൽ എന്തു നടക്കുന്നുവെന്നൊ എന്നൊന്നു oമണി നോക്കാറില്ല. ചന്ദ്രിക ഇന്ന ചങ്ങമ്പുഴയൊടൊത്തു സുഖമായി ജീവിക്കുന്നു 'അതോടൊപ്പം ഒന്നു പറയട്ടെ അവർണ്ണമേധാവിത്വം സവർണ്ണമേധാവിത്വ' ആര അതങ്ങനതന്നെ നിൽക്കും
