I agree, I have had Xboxes since 2005 for Halo 2 but I have always been interested in playing the PS exclusives at some point, especially Shadow of Colossus remake!. But this saga is beginning to become delusion to the extent I dislike them and just wouldnt bother

I’ve played both Xbox and PS since OG to now. I’ve always found Xbox IPs to be better and more interesting personally. I did like God of War 2018, but I never got into The Last of Us or Spiderman (after playing both, I got 10-15hrs in and stopped).
I did play BloodBorne (BB is PS exclusive) after Dark souls 1-3 which were great and tough.

So now all of a sudden, Sony worried about "fewer features" and "degrading the graphical quality?" MS Clearly Stated that they want to keep Communities of ONLINE Gamers together, let people play together on their 'prefered' platform and grow those online communities to more platforms. There is NO ONLINE Community for Starfield or Redfall, no ONLINE community for any Single Player or 'NEW' IP. Even Games like Fallout or Elder Scrolls are completely 'New' Games with a 'new' character you create yourself, its not a direct sequel.
Point is, Single Player games as well as brand new IP's are the games that MS want/need to bring people to their 'ecosystem'. They want/need games like Starfield, Redfall, Hi-Fi Rush, Forza, Halo, Hellblade etc etc to 'compete' with Spider-Man, God of War, Wolverine, Last of Us, Uncharted etc etc. Games like CoD, Minecraft, ESO, F76 have active ONLINE communities, friends/family members can play 'together' regardless of their Platform choice and they want to KEEP supporting those and expand them to 'more' platforms - but need their own Single Player and new IP's to bring people into Xbox specifically - otherwise, they may as well just become another EA, Ubisoft, TenCent etc and just make 'multi-platform' games for Sony/PC because Xbox would 'fail' to exist...
Keep in mind the Bungie that Sony purchased does not have ANY of the devs who worked on the OG Halo games anymore, so no they don't have "Bungie who made Halo" they just have "Bungie"

Bungie will never make anything near as good and as popular as Halo, no matter how much money $ony funnels through them.

As an XB player I would like more exclusive games, but I wouldn’t mind nor care if Redfall went to PS. That’s the difference between the fanbase. Xbox players seem pretty chill and maybe give PS fans a hard time here and there, but I don’t hear a bunch of whining from XB players when SM or GOW only go to PS 🤷🏽. Now that Xbox is “getting games” the goal post moves. 😂 They should be happy if it leads to more competition and better experiences. KZ, MAG and Socom coming back would be amazing. They bought Bungie who know 💯 how to make a great FPS.
I have a foot in both Xbox and Sony platforms, but the gotcha moment over Redfall’s cancelled PS5 version is just ludicrous in the face of PlayStation’s exclusivity tactics. That’s fine, that’s business, the hypocrisy, however, is maddening.
Redfall is looking great, starfield is coming in a few months, new Minecraft game looking good, and ABK deal should close in the next few months. It’s not bad this year for Xbox, I’m disappointed in Sony though I own a ps5 and their whole way they have been fighting this is gross. Honestly would not mind Jim Ryan being ousted and a new ceo come in and bring back the old days of releasing tons of games.

great video, and you're totally right... Microsoft has no interest in making COD exclusive, or crippling it in any way. Microsoft will make more money with COD to remain just as it is on Playstation, and Microsoft knows that. It should be immediately obvious to regulators. Sony just wants to keep their exclusivity deals. They will still make money through having it on their platform just not as much. Their whole argument is obviously about control and ego. This is one reason I always felt Sony was far worse of a company then Microsoft will ever be with console gaming. They think of themselves first... not the gamers. It should be obvious by this point.
I was first against COD going to playstation but then I realised COD makes so much money that it can literally fund other Xbox first party games. I'm fine with COD remaining on playstation if it helps Xbox make great exclusive games.

Diablo IV will 100% be on Game Pass if the deal goes through. Probably not day one in June, as there likely isn't enough time.

Diablo IV has a lot of additional stuff non included in the base game, which though could easily be added as heavy-weight addition and keeping earnings for the company as the people do expand the game. I think the large player base on PS all but guarantees that CoD will stay on PS. The only way I can foresee MS keeping CoD exclusive is if the franchise stops selling like crazy every year, which I doubt will happen any time soon.

I want to ask a question kinda related at least when talking about Bungie. Weren't they working on a totally different IP aside from Destiny? Will that be a fee for service or even be available for all consoles or will it be PS exclusive? I kinda figure it would be exclusive knowing PS and the way things are going with new IP, both in PS and Xbox arena's.

I feel every developer should optimize every game to fully take advantage of the hardware. In terms of graphical fidelity or parity, fully take advantage of the Series X. If the PS5 version doesn’t look as good, that’s on the PS5. The PS5 is a less powerful console. It wouldn’t be a degradation if Microsoft made the best PS5 version they could and the Xbox version looked better. And the opposite is true, Xbox controllers don’t have the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
I’m tired of this BS about graphical fidelity/parity argument. If a game can look better or perform better, then make it better.

I can see why Sony are upset but it's TTT. Tough tatas turkleton. From everything that's been said, seems to me like, all that COD revenue for PS is used to fund their 1st party IP. Post sale, Sony will need to push some of that revenue into a competitor to COD. The revenue may also decrease as people migrate from buying on PS to using Game Pass. Meanwhile, the bigger chunk of the COD revenue, now flows to MS to fund their 1st party IP. Potentially flipping who has the beat 1st party games on it's head. I would not be surprised if what we start seeing over the next 5 years is some of the top people at Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica move to a current or new Xbox studio. That's an age old business move. Steal the best people.

Sony has been time keeping content from Xbox for years.
And thats ok, Xbox started it on the Xbox360.
Sony was paying for that content now.
But now that Microsoft wants it back and Sony doesn't have the funds to keep anymore this happens.
If anything Microsoft is making a big move by offering CoD to the PS+ tier
Doing that will make Sony lose millions since PS users will no longer need to shell out the initial 65-99 dollar price tag of entry.
And if they don't take it for that tier CoD players will migrate back to Xbox/Pc since it will be much cheaper.
To be completely honest I can see Sony having to pay Microsoft just for them to keep releasing CoD after the 10 year contract. As it is much easier to do that than to develop a competitor to it.

Well that is just intolerable to them. The truth is this deal will make more games available to more gamers the world over; unlike Sony and their exclusives. Sony is full of crap. I hope the CMA are wise enough to see through it all. If I had my way all games on all the different platforms would be available to all on all platforms and PC. Even the Nintendo games on all platforms. It could and should be done. I doubt I will live to see it though. I am 67 and have had a console at home since the Magnavox and yes I still play although not well. Still I enjoy the games.
