- Xbox has shut out PlayStation fans as Microsoft and Bethesda cancelled Redfall for the PS5 leading to fans and the media to exclaim that Phil Spencer and Xbox have been lying the whole time regarding Bethesda exclusives like Starfield, Redfall and Hi-Fi Rush... But have they? Or are people completely making things up?

The bias in this industry is crazy the fact non of these media guys where angry PS had a year of exclusivity for two Bethesda games and they completely took FF7 off every platform is really infuriating.
Ok, but it's not just ff7. Look at all the recent Square Enix releases since January, and look at what platforms they're releasing on. Playstation? Check. Switch? Check. PC? Check. But Xbox? Nope, nothing new for Xbox!
@RushianBear All that came out was Eiyuden (sp?) Chronicles, and I think that was the only Square title to hit since Final Fantasy Origins. We didn't even get Tactics Ogre.
@@greenskiis we got Crisis Core last December, and that was the last release we got. Eyudian chronicles is an indie title, and has no connection to Square

@@Worm.In.Waiting I'm pretty sure Microsoft already explicitly confirmed that Elder Scrolls 6 will be Xbox exclusive. And so will probably every other Bethesda/Zenimax game, even stuff like Indiana Jones. The only Bethesda games I could see coming to Playstation, however, are the live service stuff, namely things like Zenimax Online's unrevealed new IP that they've been working on and maybe - if Starfield is a hit - a potential future Starfield MMO will come to Playstation. And the only reason they'd do that is to get as many players as possible on their live service titles. But that's as far as it goes. Everything else will be exclusive.

While Sony is out there screaming about Call of Duty, trying to get it locked down, he isn't talking about every other game Activision/Blizzard has in development for the next 5-10 years. And the more Jimbo cries about CoD, MS is going to hand it out to every platform which will continue to dilute the waters.

Sony has done this without buying developers/publishers. They just make contracts and/or pay sums of money and games that have been initially announced multiplat become exclusive or timed exclusive.

If the game turns into a PS exclusive, it automatically gains 15 points on metacritic.

In reality, judging from the fact that the game was so bad that it shut down an entire studio, Forspoken should have gotten a 40 or 50 on Metacritic, and yet it somehow got a high 60s. And TLOU 2 should have gotten a 70 on Metacritic, but somehow it ended up getting a 90 even though most people hated that game. Same with GT7 and a couple others.

A 90 for TLOU2 is way too high though, a low/mid 80s makes more sense.

I swear, gaming journalists are a joke these days. Gotta love how everyone posts articles everywhere and makes this fake outrage whenever Xbox announces that they have made a game exclusive or in Redfall's case have cancelled the PS5 version. Microsoft owns Arcane and Redfall, they can do whatever the hell they want with their games. They did not spend $7.5 billion dollars just to make all of Arcane's games and Zenimax/Bethesda's games multiplats.
Whenever Sony does stuff like this - like they did with Stellar Blade (which was supposed to release on PS5), no one makes articles on it. But when MS does it, everyone - even the people that claim to hate the games - get extremely pissed.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen comments regarding Xbox games - including Redfall - where Playstation players are like "this game looks nice, I'll wait for it to come to PS5" or "I WoUlD pLaY tHiS gAmE iF MiCrOsHaFt DiDn'T bUy BeThEsDa aNd MaKe ThEiR gAmEs ExClUsIVe." I don't see Xbox people saying stuff like that with Spiderman or God of War or whatever. These people really expect everything to be playable on their PS5s and they will do everything in their power to not get an Xbox or PC.
I know I'm an Xbox fan so I'm biased, but it's legitimately hard to argue that there ISN'T a bias against Xbox among the gaming community after seeing stuff like this.

Though if we’re speaking objectively any console is a huge money sink because there’s no guarantee your library will always follow you (even to platforms by the same company). I’d really just say buy a PC and play everything. Even sony is releasing there games there and otherwise there are emulators.
@@vullord666 PC ports haven't been great lately tho, and they can often be far more expensive than consoles. Now I know you can get PCs for cheaper, but if you want a PC that the PC Master Race considers "decent," then be prepared to spend upwards of $1,000+ dollars.
Meanwhile, you could just buy a Series S and a PS5 Digital Edition for around $650-$700 combined. Both consoles are arguably as good as if not better than any prebuilt PC you could get in the $650-$700 price range.
EDIT: Yes, I left out Nintendo, but let's be real: even though you can currently emulate Switch games on PC, you will not be able to play Nintendo games in 2024 when they release their next-gen console, especially if it's as powerful as a PS4 or something. And even when Switch 2 emulation does arrive (as is the case with all consoles), it will be years for that to happen even if the Switch 2 isn't much more powerful than the base Switch.

Wonder why there is alot of hate on co-op games in general nowadays. Like isnt better to play with friends than alone. Like if the game stays the same then why does it hurt it to he co-op. It can even give it more replayability than striaght single player games.
I can easily answer that. It's mostly Playstation fanboys that are the ones that hate anything co-op, Games as a Service, and free-to-play games. And it's because a lot of PS games don't feature them. They're about to have a rude awakening though, when PS studios start dropping all those GaaS games. I guarantee their fanboys and PS centric fanboy channels will suddenly have a change of heart how it's a good thing now. They'll find a way to spin things how it's some how different because it's Playstation. The media will suddenly love it and say that it's good for the industry. I can already see it.

PlayStation gamers has been enjoying a full generation of exclusive titles, cmon now. I was a PC gamer but got tried of constantly having to upgrade my PC, so I decided to get a console.
I live in South East Asia where Sony dominate the console market, but I remembered a little thing called GamePass, I knew this was a game changer, value for my money, and decided to get a XB Series X and never look back.

“Yes... I don’t want to be flip about that. This deal was not done to take games away from another player base like that. Nowhere in the documentation that we put together was: ‘How do we keep other players from playing these games?’ We want more people to be able to play games, not fewer people to be able to go play games. But I’ll also say in the model-I’m just answering directly the question that you had-when I think about where people are going to be playing and the number of devices that we had, and we have xCloud and PC and Game Pass and our console base, I don’t have to go ship those games on any other platform other than the platforms that we support in order to kind of make the deal work for us. Whatever that means.”
Now before people go about the "more people to play games, not fewer" part and link that to PS, see that he mentioned Cloud, PC, Gamepass and Xbox Consoles (basically saying Cloud and Gamepass will allow more people to play this). He also said they don't have to put those games on any other platform outside of the ones they support. This was the confirmation of mostly exclusives Bethesda games before the acquisition was completed. And Minecraft is not a rule about Microsoft supporting the PS platform, it is an exception, just like Call of Duty will be.

Prey is one of my favourite games. I missed out last gen because the demo was not very good. I played it when Series X had been out a few months with 60fps through frame boost and with the faster loading times the SSD gives and I loved it. I couldnt put it down. Its a shame it flew under the radar.

Redfall was never announced for ps5 as far as I know. So what is all the talk about.
People also confuse Phil's comment about bringing those games to MOREgamers to think that it includes Playstation. What it means is that not just Xbox Console gamers can play, but also PC and Cloud gamers can play where as with Sony, its JUST the Console.
Starfield and Redfall may not be on PS5 but they could still play via Cloud or PC, not have to Rush out and buy a Series Console to play because its 'limited' to JUST Xbox Consoles.
Single Player and ANY new IP's I expect to be EXCLUSIVE to Xbox - Games with ACTIVE ONLINE COMMUNITIES - like Minecraft, CoD, ESO, Overwatch etc will remain 'multi-platform' to continue reaching that ONLINE Community, allowing Gamers to play with Friends, Family etc regardless of Platform choice - not pulling those gamers away from their 'preferred' platform they choose to play those IP's on.
Xbox needs the Single Player and New IP's to compete with Sony's long list of Exclusive IP's - Spider-Man, Wolverine, Last of Us, Uncharted, God of War, Horizon, Gran Turismo etc etc

Redfall was announced at E3 at 2021 and it clearly stated at the end of the trailer it would be coming to xbox and PC, not PS.
I don't know why anyone is surprised by this. But we are to believe there there were playstation fans clamoring for a game they didn't even know existed...

To be honest, I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding on this topic of "play wherever you want". What I think nobody understand is that Microsoft is saying "every platform that will welcome our GamePass is going to be able to play our exclusives"...and that's why every exclusive is called "GamePass exclusive" and not Xbox exclusive. For example once that the Samsung app will be ready, you shall be able to play "GamePass exclusives" directly on the TV without having to buy an Xbox or a PC. They never sead "oh yeah, we will deliver our games to everybody in the world because we are a charity association. The point of the Microsoft strategy is to spread the GamePass as much as possible and not relegate Games based on the platform but on the service, not to just to give presents to the enemies. I thought it was pretty obvious and clear, so I don't see any contradictions there nor anything to be surprised about.
I was super annoyed when I found out Ark 2 is exclusive to Xbox for a certain time because I have over 1000 hours with my buddies on PS4. But I understand exclusives and bought an Xbox series x to play it should they ever release the stupid thing. And now I am really glad to have one for starfeild because that game looks amazing!
How about Sony letting Xbox play some of their many exclusives.

The gaming media did not bat an eye when Playstation made Street Fighter 5 exclusive for the ENTIRE lifetime, nor did they say anything when Silent Hill 2 remake, Final Fantasy 16 was made a Playstation exclusive.
It's quite disgusting that the game studios have to be on the gaming medias good side else get the Rise of the tomb raider treatment for DARING to be exclusive to Xbox.

im amazed how bad everybody treats each other over video games , that is with sony gamers and xbox gamers and youtubers if nobody can get along with each over this then youvreally can see why we have wars all over the place cause everybody just wants the other person to be pissed off and upset all the time i miss the days when you just played games with people and had lots of fun doing now its just terrible how people treat each other over stuff like this

Bethesda may not maximise their profits in the future being exclusive to Microsoft Xbox/PC but the one plus of being a first party exclusive is that you can just focus on one or two platforms as Bethesda will with Xbox Consoles & PC and not have to worry about a game working on the other platforms which should provide dedicated time to more quality control but if the games are well made and generate the same profits or more before falling under the Xbox umbrella then who needs the other platforms

There has been several games that were slated for both PS5 and Xbox, but they ended up only on PS. How I personally feel about this is not much really; however, if I really wanted these absent titles, I would purchase them on my PS5.
