Thank you so much for this video. I’ve watched so many implant videos and it’s only this one that clearly stated the risks

I'm really glad I watched this. I have always hated my lower face - the under developed jawline & receding chin. After learning about these complications, I wonder if it's worth it? Very scary.

Chin implants aren't the only way to augment an overbite. You can opt for a sliding genioplasty. There is no implant. Here's a video about it. czcams.com/video/oHan0tbi9TA/video.html

What if the local anesthetic used during surgery enters an artery near the chin, will there be complications?

Thank you for the video. I had a chin implant that had to be removed because it was hurting my lower teeth. It has been 2 years and 5 months since the procedure and my lower lip and chin are still numb. Is this normal or do you think that the two nerves were permanently damaged?

Hello Dr Tanveer,I did have a chin implant over 10 years ago, it never caused me any problems and it looks good from the front but this is an xl chinimplant and from the side profil its sticking way to much out...I wanted a large instead of of extra large implant but the doctor told me than, they could obly order a medium or extra large but i did not have an idea how strong and un-feminin it would look..I never really gotten use to it, over the years. I went back to the doctor recently and told him that I want a smaller one and he told me, this is not posible, because the smaller implant would floating around in the pocket where the larger one is in now...he told me that he can cut out tissue lying over the implant to make it look more flat from the side/profile...but I don t know if I want that...do you have another idea? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ANSWER

I had a sliding genioplasty about 3 years ago. It was a revision (2nd). The 1st was too agressive and left a gap in an area along the ridge of my jawline. This concern was supposed to be handled with the revision, by the same doctor. However, during the revision surgery, the doctor-instead placed a small implant/piece of silicone over that gap, that sits on my jawline, basically masking the gap/filling it in.
However, now I have numbness along that area, and the area below my lower lip is abnormallly flat, instead of having a groove.
I had come to accept it, mostly bc I didn't want to have another surgery, especially from the same doctor. However, I've changed my mind. I would almost be willing to go back to my old chin to removed the stress from my life.
Question: would removing this piece of silicone fix the lip problem? Is it causing the flatness/numbeness bc it's sitting close to the nerve?
Thanks for the video and the potential answer! 🙏

Powdered bone should have been added to that area, not silicone… It is much like a dental procedure ( preparing you for a dental implant ). The powdered bone will stimulate your bone growth.

The tight feeling is due to the skin and muscles accommodating.. It will eventually go away or you will not notice it as much.. I had a chin bone graft 45 years ago and it felt very tight and it felt like "mashed potatoes" were caught under my chin...

I just got my implant 10 days ago, and it feels like it is hanging off and it protruding most where the scar is. It looks like I have two chins again as the soft ball tissue did not get filled with the implant and then the implant is lower. Could it have moved accidently while I was recovering and how would I be able to tell is there an xray or scan I should get?

Hi Dr, i had a crooked implant removed 7 years ago, it formed scar tissue where the the implant used to be, it feels tight and affects my smile, both surgeries were done inside the mouth, can this be corrected so i could have a relaxed natural smile again without that capsule that doesnt let my lower lip pull down in a natural form?
