I’ve almost finished my swap just need to put a few things back on and get a new ac condenser which is $200+ at autozone. I did notice the ekg is different on the Jdm motors so they have to be changed and that and the starter are really irritating to get off but thanks to you I’ve got a new motor in my civic
wow nice job. I have the same jdm, and your videos are impressive. Do you need to change over any sensors or use the jdm ones. How about the throttle body? l have a manual trans. I'm praying they separate and out the top t/y.
Thanks! I swapped all the sensors in the block. Also used all US external components (throttle body, manifolds, etc). Might not have to switch every sensor but I’m pretty sure the cam and crank position sensors have to switched to USD atleast. Wish you the best of luck🍻
Just a dumb question but how do you know if your torque converter is engaged? My block is cracked leaking fluid so I'm gonna have to do this. Hope I can get it done because this car saves me a ton on Gas money as I have a long commute to work and don't want to spend the cash for a new vehicle.
You’ll feel the final click and pay attention to where the converter rests and make sure it’s line back up. About 1/4in inside the transmission housing. You definitely got this!

Just curious why you went with the jdm one? I just bought a Honda stream that has the r18a are they not known to crack? Thanks
Hey Cody I’m looking to do this swap as well. Also in CA. Were you able to pass smog with the JDM motor?
Yes it will pass smog. Just use your stock EGR and you’ll be good👍
Did you torque up the Crank Bolt I can’t find the torque specs
@@Omarvro1 I didn’t torque it to spec but used a decent amount of force
Did you have to program the transmission to the new engine?
So I got an automatic transmission can I still do a engine swap or no reason to
You want to do my car i have the same probleam with my civic crack block
OMG l did my JDM swap a 2 month ago and it cost 1350
Can u use the same ECU?
Yes
