BMAC VAGS IDK, if you know lmk. I got ESR SR07s 18x9.5+30mm but do you think 225/40ZR18 tires will work on my 06 RSX Type S or nah?? Just really curious since I’m new to the car game and don’t want to miss up and waste like $410 on tires that won’t be any good? I’ll appreciate your help my g😁
this helps me with my decision on what im going to do wit my tire setup. i was thinkin about putting a 225/40 on my 8.5 and 9.5 inch wheel. but im not a huge tire strecth fan. but i may have to do it for a while until i can get a 235/35
damn. Ive been thinking of getting stretched tires and since you know about this method. Do you know what people use when they use the spray and lighter method is. What is the spray that is used? Starter fluid?
Yes H&R (a popular brand) makes sport springs that give a nice drop and great clearance. I put a set on a couple of my cars:91 BMW cabrio with stock rims, and 92 MBZ 500SL with 18x8.5 / 18x9.5 rims with no clearance issues at all.
I bought falkens for one of my cars and they are pretty good. but ill look into bridgestone and yoko. What do you think of companies like federal, kumho, nitto, and toyo?
actually when the wall is stretched towards the tyre there is a lot less flex, therefore it is easier to enter a drift and swing continuously. So it does help in drifting, and in my opinion it does actually look pretty nice on specific cars and specific rims.
I saw them use one of those blasters in a garage near me when I was around 16, I ran right home and made one by cutting a hole in the bottom of an old propane tank then welded an 1-1/2 coupler on it then screwed in a ball valve and a 3 foot section of 1-1/2" black pipe. I found some spiral wound D size lead/acid batteries I salvaged from emergency lighting that fit air tight down the barrel. I had an old 2 stage compressor from 1932 that went up to 250 PSI and let me tell you, it made a potato cannon look like a safe toy! It would fire through 2 layers of 3/4" plywood and still send the battery out of sight down into the village in the valley below my home! I thought 2 layers would stop it. My Bad! lol
Bro I got ESR SR07s 18x9.5+30mm but do you think 225/40ZR18 tires will work on my 06 RSX Type S or nah?? Just really curious since I’m new to the car game and don’t want to miss up and waste like $410 on tires that won’t be any good? I’ll appreciate your help my g😁
what VIP in racer/car terms and wouldnt it help to put those on the rear also because theylle have less grip, and you can get the tires spinning easier?
What happens if you have a flat one morning or you are away on a trip. Can you just refill the tire with regular air? Just asking because I don't know. I am not trying to start stuff.
nice im getting XXR 522s pretty soon, 19x10 +20 all around and ill be throwin on Falkon 235/35/19 on them. cant wait to see the results! i have a genesis coupe 2.0 T by the way.
how come thay dont use the rite size is it a looks thing or a proformance thing just asking i want to know thought it looked cool when thay put the tire on the beed
did they even try put air in there the normal way????? The shop i got my wheels done just pumped air the regular way and it worked..... same numbers on everything but nankang tires
can someone please explain to me the whole purpose of stretching tires? not trying to deter anyone but i'm just curious as to why and what are really stretch tires.
235/35 look dope on a 9.0 and 215/35 on a 8.0 not too much but still a stretch there's a site called tyrestretch you can see basically any size on any diameter wheel you want
good shit, I don't see why people hate, it looks so much better than meaty tires...my buddy has Rota Torques 18x9.5 with 225 tires and his car is driven hard not a single problem.
Depends on the shops. In my area, I see mainly small independently own shops that do this. America's Tires, Les Schwab, or the bigger franchise companies usually won't do it.
Okay, fair point. I've got Yokohama S Drives on which run incredibly wide for their advertised size. Luckily my arches are making them narrower by the day.
What's nice about these "O"-ring tires is their run flat" capability. I know of a Geo Storm owner who had these damn tires on it and drove around with one flat tire and didn't even know it. Great tires for great cars...if you don't mind a ride like a little red wagon going through a lava bed.
Its always been a "euro" thing, but it started in drifting. the streched tire has a smaller sidewall, meaning the tire wont flex on the rim as much so less chance of it coming off the rim, gives better tire to ground contact aswell.
Stretching tires isnt really dangerous at all, especially a minimal stretch like this one. As long as you check the tire pressure frequently, and make sure it is up to par, you will be absolutely fine. It only gets dangerous if the tire pressure gets too low, but thats the same with any tire on any size rim. Ive been daily driving with this exact same size rim and tire for about 4 months now, and guess what? Nothing has happened, they are perfectly fine.
yah thats what i have my 10.5's on is a 03 350. 18x10.5 tsw interlaggos with 285/30/18 tires. need a roll all the way around and 15mm spacers up front rear fit without spacers though
Hail, indeed. I thought I was looking at a hacked pony tank until I saw your comment and googled it - what a great looking product! (btw: life before google was harder, wasn't it?
Its a tank that holds compressed air, it is used to force air (at high pressure) into the tire so the tire beads can expand and sit on the rim. It should only be used if its impossible for you to get the tire bead to sit on the rim. It only takes one try on one side of the wheel and thats it.
Oh well I am glad that YOU think it looks stupid. Stretching tires has absoloutely no negative effect on the car or its tires, unless you take it to the extreme. There are actually a lot of people who go for this flush style with stretched tires.
That depends on the aspect ratio of the tire. For example 185/55R16 tires are reccomended for a max rim with of 6.5" and 195/45R17 tires are reccomended for a 7.5" rim with. What rim and tire diameter do you have in mind? As an example, a 185/55R16 on an 8" rim is not a small stretch. It's much easier to determine if you know what rim and tire diameter you want. What they do in this vid, is actually only stretching the 225/40R18 tire 0.5"+, but due to the low profile, it's a lot.
Looks pretty good. Mine are stretched about that much. Handling is not compromised a bit. There is no evidence that it is any more dangerous than a normal fitting tire. People just assume because it's stretched on that somehow it's going to come off the bead while driving or something. They obviously have never dismounted a tire before because even fully deflated I needed a pneumatic tool to dismount my stretched tires. No way its coming off fully inflated from normal driving
Some people don't understand that it's not only for looks. Some people want to go to a poked look and get that wheel as close to the fender as possible, and that's not possible if you don't stretch the tires
sermerlin1 I don't entirely understand your question but I'm assuming this is what you want: Here is the original quote: "Some people don't understand that it's not only for looks. Some people want to go to a poked look and get that wheel as close to the fender as possible, and that's not possible if you don't stretch the tires" Lets analyze... First off he says, "Some people don't understand that it's not only for looks." Next, he says, " Some people want to go to a poked look and get that wheel as close to the fender as possible" Now let me explain if you still don't get it, he said it isn't only for looks and then stated that the reason it is done, is... FOR LOOKS. That is the only reason for stretched tires, you don't gain any tread width or anything useful.
Some people like the wheel closer to the fender, and want to go lower. The tire will eventually rub if you go low enough and the only way to avoid that is to fit smaller tires on a wider wheel or tuck(Which would bring camber into play) But I'm sure these guys don't care about your opinion, neither do I. Just giving you the facts. sermerlin1
Not really, you could stretch a tire on factory wheels with factory suspension parts. But, the whole point is so when you lower a car the center of wheel itself will be flush with the fender. The stretch makes the sidewall lean in more thus allowing the tires to fit the wells and not rub the fender.
horrible place to put your hands....
Are there any safety issues with tire stretching?
BMAC VAGS IDK, if you know lmk. I got ESR SR07s 18x9.5+30mm but do you think 225/40ZR18 tires will work on my 06 RSX Type S or nah?? Just really curious since I’m new to the car game and don’t want to miss up and waste like $410 on tires that won’t be any good? I’ll appreciate your help my g😁

Bigwes2215 im like 5 years late but 225/40 on a 8.5 is nothing on my setup. Im going down to 215/35 for a decent stretch
do you have to do that to both sides of the wheel or just one? And what is that big tank that he is using?
wow, thanks. great response. Do you think a little stretch is okay? like a 185/195 on a 8" rim
Ok, I just saw your other video with the 265's. Thats hella nice!!
damn. Ive been thinking of getting stretched tires and since you know about this method. Do you know what people use when they use the spray and lighter method is.

im gonna go home and put my 18 inch bmx bike tires on my 8 inch wide car wheels....dat stance life brah...vape
ok cool story bruh, now go cry to your momma ok...
john proulx Cry to my momma? i cant tell if your trying to make fun of me and failed or if you responded to the wrong comment..
I bought falkens for one of my cars and they are pretty good. but ill look into bridgestone and yoko. What do you think of companies like federal, kumho, nitto, and toyo?
Congratulations. You've given the worst insult to "haters" I've seen in years.

Haha yea I worked at a tire shop back in the day, that thing is awesome!
I dont recall life before google, gotta love that free info!
Im not a fan of stretched tires but that blaster thing..... can you imagine that at a party!?!?! AWESOME!!!!
I saw them use one of those blasters in a garage near me when I was around 16, I ran right home and made one by cutting a hole in the bottom of an old propane tank then welded an 1-1/2 coupler on it then screwed in a ball valve and a 3 foot section of 1-1/2" black pipe. hey do you think these would fit on a 99 eclipse or should i go 8.5 insteadt of 9.5
what was the stuff in the tank he pop the tire with ?
did you need the cheetah? i mounted a set of tires same size on the same size rim, no problems, just inflated it like a normal tire.
what kind of weapon is that yellow tank thing?
love them rims G, what brand??
Bro I got ESR SR07s 18x9.5+30mm but do you think 225/40ZR18 tires will work on my 06 RSX Type S or nah?? Just really curious since I’m new to the car game and don’t want to miss up and waste like $410 on tires that won’t be any good? I’ll appreciate your help my g😁
yo john proulx would this tires also stretch over a 18x9.75?
Nice wheels bro, where did you get those?
Will i have to get my tires stretched if i go with 205 40 17 on 17x9 all around rims?
Wud +20 offset on 527 XXR wheels stick out or inward?
Did you custom drill the rims?
what VIP in racer/car terms and wouldnt it help to put those on the rear also because theylle have less grip, and you can get the tires spinning easier?
which one is that model of rims?
What happens if you have a flat one morning or you are away on a trip. Can you just refill the tire with regular air? Just asking because I don't know. I am not trying to start stuff.
what kind of wheels are those
Do you know how stretched tires started? and what the reason for them was?
are there any advantages to this or is it just for the looks ?
tyre stretching increases sidewall rigidity. that's why drifters prefer it and have been using it for a long time
what kind of rims are these?
hey guys I need help im buying a set of 18x8.5 what size of tire do you recommend?
Can you stretch 18"×9.0" +40, on 225/40s Also Bcus that's my combination or 9" not wide as 9.5", that why i just haven't mounted yet.
Thanks, exactly what im thinking!
nice im getting XXR 522s pretty soon, 19x10 +20 all around and ill be throwin on Falkon 235/35/19 on them. cant wait to see the results! i have a genesis coupe 2.0 T by the way.
what did that thing do, at 0:38 sec ?... that made the big blast? Did it shoot some air pressure into the tyre or something?
can tire shops stretch your tires?
What kind of wheels are those?
How much di it end up costing??
Okay, removing that tire is the same as removing any other regular tire?
Whats the point of having a wide rim but stick with a skinny tire? My last rims were 10.5", but I ran a 305/35 tire..
This is the Falken Ziex Ze-912, right?
what rims are those?
Driving with them...is it safe?
how come thay dont use the rite size is it a looks thing or a proformance thing just asking i want to know thought it looked cool when thay put the tire on the beed
Looks like falken tires?
sa fait tu avec toute les mags les boys ?
What rims is this?
do you live in ny by forest park by any chance ?
Did he use a blast of air to inflate the tire?
In any case, is this bad in any way?
did they even try put air in there the normal way????? The shop i got my wheels done just pumped air the regular way and it worked..... same numbers on everything but nankang tires
can someone please explain to me the whole purpose of stretching tires? not trying to deter anyone but i'm just curious as to why and what are really stretch tires.
What tires should i get for 18x8+35 front and 18x9+35 rear.i want a little stretch but not much.just for comfort and looks.thanx
235/35 look dope on a 9.0 and 215/35 on a 8.0 not too much but still a stretch there's a site called tyrestretch you can see basically any size on any diameter wheel you want
Is this safe?
Whats the advantage of streching a tire like this ?
Perfect looking stretch
So was it you who decided that 'Ricers' stretch the tires for the look? Even though they are proven to give better steering response?
good shit, I don't see why people hate, it looks so much better than meaty tires...my buddy has Rota Torques 18x9.5 with 225 tires and his car is driven hard not a single problem.

those wheels are amazing looking.... what brand are they?
From Briggs to you falken ZE912’s. I know you commented 7 years ago, still thought ide say something lol
Okay, fair point. I've got Yokohama S Drives on which run incredibly wide for their advertised size. Luckily my arches are making them narrower by the day.
not hating man, looks nice, but is it safe?i mean nothin is safe now and days but do you take life away from the tire ?
thanks man. Ill have to look into that 205/50. Probably some falkens!
very true. The potenzas are pretty expensive and its going on a mostly weekend driver in normal weather. ill prob get the yokos or the toys
thanks for your help
that guy has some serious balls!
can anybody tell me what is the color of this wheels ? thank you
What's is the brand of these rims
That's a nice wheel
Stretch? What stretch? They are stuck to the barrel

Cool Story Bro!
Digging it I have the 551 the next gen of this wheel 17x8.25 36 mm going to do same thing sweet
Its always been a "euro" thing, but it started in drifting.
the streched tire has a smaller sidewall, meaning the tire wont flex on the rim as much so less chance of it coming off the rim, gives better tire to ground contact aswell.
Do you even lift bro?
Does anyone have pics of these on a galant?
you know what else is cool? driving with the right size tires
nice rims .... love the offset

i know this might sound noobie lol but can this be dangerous as i might do this to my civic
y no puede explotar la llanta al momento de montarla al carro ?
Who cares about what other people say, they're jealous. The wheels look great! I wish I had them...

What you described are looks. You can easily fit a 225 tire on a smaller wheel and have it perform exactly the same or better.
The Pooch I don't get it what looks?
sermerlin1 I don't entirely understand your question but I'm assuming this is what you want:
