    people it will always rust a little because at least on my fronts i only rub if you turn full lock and hit a bump you will rub and rub off the paint leading to a little unseen rust patch. Heres a tip, i just clean it off with some wd-40 after i wash my car and rust is gone, its just surface rust since there isn't deep gauges into the metal it basically wipes off like the rust on brake rotors after rain...
    my rears are good tho 0 rubs and such running 20x9 in front and 20x10.5 in the back on my manual lexus is250

    Maybe you don't understand my question. In the video he showed rolling the inner lip flat to give you more clearance without affecting the external profile of the fender. I am curious if this tool is suitable to actually modify they external profile of the fender into a flare similar to what a bolt on fender flare would give you, just less dramatic.

    Would this tool work to flare fenders as well? I would like to get a little over a half inch of flare.

    Sorry for the late reply - been making more videos!
    This heat gun in particular ( 02:23 ) is part of the Plas-Tec Plastic Repair System which is also by Power-TEC. I would post a link but CZcams won't allow links in the comments section.

    what temp should the heat gun be?

    • @TheToolconnection
      @TheToolconnection  Před 9 lety

      weenafile Not too hot! The heat gun is used to keep the paint flexible, but not hot enough to burn or melt the paint.

    What if my wheel arches aren't round?

    • @TheToolconnection
      @TheToolconnection  Před 6 lety

      That's the reason for the depth of the roller. Depending on the actual shape of the wheel arch, you may have to adjust the length of the bar. An amount of skill and common sense may help here!

    You guys should delete this video: if you bend the drip-lip on the fender like that it will start rusting in a year

    • @TheToolconnection
      @TheToolconnection  Před 10 lety +3

      The heat gun is used to keep the paint flexible so that it is not compromised. The factory E-coat is still there and has also not been compromised. So no rusting unless stone chips or other damage has compromised the E-coat and paint.
