“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

I remember YEARS ago when I bought my first pedicure chair, European Touch pretty much had the monopoly on pedicure chairs (as far as I knew anyway). I remember the chair cost me $3600, and that was in 1999. My first thought was , this is a lot for one piece of equipment and it's just me right now, BUT if I work 100 hours I have this paid for. Now don't get me wrong, that was A LOT of money for me back then but, when I looked at it in terms of pedicures to do to pay for it.....piece of cake! 26 years later....this industry ROCKS!

But been ill and wanting to rebuild her clientele back up after loosing what she had 5-6 years previous? is still continually updating her training so she is right up to date, , jumping in entering a worldwide nail competition (not winning) overdoing it in the process, loving every minute and wanting more.

It is one aspect of proving that this is your passion. Innovation, talking to the right ppl like small business bureau, find ways to cut cost and be creative in your marketing. Do you want to start in home and build? Or start in a building to rent? What are gonna be my monthly costs? How many ppl do I need to break even and then how are you gonna grow? What kinds of products are you going to use? Young Nails Inc of course😜 and more importantly continue to practice, grow and increase skills and add that to your service. Are you only gonna do nails? Or are ya gonna add pedicure and maybe massage? Brain storming is fun and needed it Sparks ideas. Wow! Guys I'm typing this as I watch this and I will hit key points..*yay* This is a journey for sure, keeping positive and understanding that change inevitable so flexibility is key. Wish me luck and good luck to all who are this path❣️❣️❣️ awesome vid again. Thanks guys.💓💓

I do house calls for my client - it is rather simple . I worked at nail salons for many years and gained a following - slowly I started . First I bought about only 10 different gel colors and 10 regular polishes , and each time I had an appointment I’d invest in my own business and started to purchase more items . People appreciate your modesty versus coming into an appointment with overwhelming amount of items for them to choose from . Then I started to advertise on IG and have gained clients through bridal showers etc. showcase your work and you will be there in no time . We started our brand in Feb 2018 and now in July 2019 have a great following with amazing flexible schedule . Good luck !

I think in the beginning it is a good idea. If you can find an hourly position or commission spot that is guaranteed income until you can get a feel for the industry in your area. I was working for a spa which taught me a good deal about how to pamper an individual. I nice next step would be working for someone that had a clientele that was more into the nails and art, not so much the fluffy fluff. Don't rush yourself, give yourself time to learn. I didn't, dropped out of the biz and here I am more than 4 years later starting over.

My tables, chairs etc are from IKEA but are 2nd hand ive only spent £30 getting items free or cheap from selling sites, I would be reluctant with fabric (sofas/cushions) but a table plastic/metal chair are easy to clean. I only got started a year ago but temporarily think it's a good idea as its not cheap to get going there's still so much more nail stuff I need to get! Hopefully won't be too long until I can upgrade my furniture, to those of you in the UK Homesense is amazing for fair priced furniture with a luxury look! 🧜‍♂️

Love these talks you guys have. This is How I think about a starting a business: Man & Woman - Make love 💕 She gets pregnant- she carry’s for 9 months ( a hell of a 9 months I’ll add) her water breaks- she’s screaming - husband and wife at the hospital- she hates her husband for causing this pain- baby pops out- they are happy! Moral of this story: The LOVE of what you do needs to happen- develop and eventually grow! The outcome is never easy, but not impossible!! As we hope our child grows to be the best person he/ she can be. We can only hope
For the same for our developing business! Placing numbers on everything can be unrealistic. But placing QUALITY is essential!!
