    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
    Welcome to the Young Nails family!

    I have a lot of my clients that book 3 to 6 months in advance. I have some clients that like the same day and time of the week. So they secure their spot. I love it. I don't have to be concerned about appointments. I don't require deposits. Most of my clients i have been doing for at least 15yrs.

    When rebooking I’ve always just said at the end of the appt, “ are we rebooking you for 2 or 3 weeks?” “what day/time during the week works for you?” And then I book them. I don’t really ask…but I always follow up by saying if for some reason later on this time/day doesn’t work for you just give me a call and we can reschedule you. Just keep in mind that my schedule fills quickly, so I may not have a time available that is as convenient for you.

    I remember going to a salon and sitting on this new person chair for the first time and she already asked me if I was going to rebook before the service even started and I got the ick…. Horrible experience for me throughout the service that added up little by little, communication skill was lost of em. I paid and never returned

    I leave it at simply “do you want to rebook now or play it by ear?! Okay see you in a couple weeks babe! “ or rebook. But I just manage I don’t do nails. I’m trying to get my salon cards with our girls names on it

    Great video guys! I require a deposit to book with me using my online scheduling system so I haven’t figured out how to rebook at the end of an appointment. I would like to rebook regular clients - new customers are inconsistent - but since the start of the pandemic I only open my schedule one a month to reduce no-shows. Thanks for getting the wheels turning. 🤗💡As always, your vids are right on time! I’m going to decide how to rebook my regulars; any suggestions would be great!

    Taking notes still haven’t reach that stage to accept paying customers yet. Still working on models.

      I had my first hand model Friday. So excited about the experience. But I don't think that will last long because after her asking and raving about how my nails looked, I finally did hers and told her about taking hand models for practice. She kept in touch, and after that, silence. I'm not looking forward to hearing from her to only ask if I would do them again after asking to set up to have them done every 2-3 weeks.

    This is so random, but hey this were I am here with you as this thought arose... My question is, If your doing a full set and the client wants a color wether it’s polish or gel... is there a rule of thumb for the color acrylic you use to sculpt the set? Is there a color that will usually make it more sound of a difference financially?, as well as for when they come back for a fill and wants something different? Thank you in advance for entertaining me here... ❤

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před 10 měsíci +2

      We generally recommend consulting with your client (or after a while you get to know the client's habits) to determine if they are going to want to change out the color at their next appointment. If the client usually likes to change out their colors and designs at every appointment, it may be easier and less time consuming to use gel polish on top of the enhancement rather than using solid colored acrylic. However, if you do use colored acrylic on the whole nail, make sure to apply a thin layer of clear acrylic first so you can clip off the free edge and file down the color to the clear and not damage the natural nail. If you do use colored acrylic for solid color, just make sure you are charging more for the change out so you are making the same "per hour" as you would for any other service.

    Why don't nail techs have assistants like hair people do? Hair stylists can do double the people cuz they have an assistant to help them. Wouldn't this make sense for us to do the same?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před 4 měsíci +1

      There are some nail techs that have assistants, it just isn't as common as it is for hair stylists. With nails, there would need to be a second station for the assistant to use if they were doing the prep work/shortening/removing gel polish, etc, For a hair assistant, they might get the client shampooed and ready for the haircut or rinse out color but that would be using a different area than the main stylist would use. The main stylist would rotate clients in/out of their one station.

    Would it be appropriate to have the client pay after they review and approve the nails prior to topcoat?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před rokem +1

      If you are doing an air-dry polish, that is a good idea so they don't smudge. However, if you are doing a gel top coat, we would recommend waiting until the service is complete so the customer isn't digging in their purse and getting oils, dust and contaminants on their nails before applying gel polish.

    Different culture. In Brazil, we all want our manicures done weekly using regular nail polish or every two weeks for gel, acrílic or fibreglass. The nail techs own us, and we must follow their schedule and be on time. They have a fixed agenda, and if you hesitate, you may lose your plan, and you will have to be available if they manage to fit you in. In Brazil, having well-groomed nails is a matter of hygiene. Men evaluate women by their hands and feet. I have lived in Canada for ten years, and here, many Brazilian women fail to take care of themselves because they confuse having poorly manicured nails with liberation, and, in the same way, they fail to iron their clothes. A woman with well-groomed nails is different from others, and as a well-dressed woman, society treats you better. Those who love themselves take care of themselves.
