- At 11:00 - I mentioned modders prefer to use ASI plugins to alter memory over CLEO scripts, I should've used better wording here as I make it sound like CLEO is never used to alter game memory. In fact, a lot of CLEO scripts are used to alter game memory, however ASI plugins are USUALLY preferred when doing more complex stuff.
- At 33:26 - I recommend changing streaming memory to 512MB. Unfortunately this seems to be too low for some people, so my new recommendation is 1024MB (1GB).

@@BygoneT Sorry I should've specified in the video. It doesn't really matter, when Ultimate ASI Loader gets an update, it's usually just for additional game support as far as I know.
Just download whatever the latest version is and forget about it once installed.
@@TJGM Hm, ok, just as a note I followed every other step perfectly, the only difference being I used the 5.0 version now available and the rest of the mods simply didn't work.
I could do a quick test by replacing only the asi loader tomorrow and let you know how it goes, I'm out of juice for the day 🤣, It took me a while to figure put the problem and it made my stream a bit problematic, but the guide itself is so good even my 12 year old self couldn't have misunderstood. Love the work you put in, I even joined the discord. The attention to detail and explanation, even showing the page as you download is what sells it to a noob like me. Thank you again.

Appreciate this series. Ive been wanting to mod GTA SA since i was a kid and seen fast and furious cars and all kind of things in the pc modded version of the game. Very simple and not overwhelming guide.

I myslef never modded SA because it was way too complicated and the game by itlsef is still the best game ever, but with your help I can finally do it.
Also: I checked the torrent site we have in my country since like 2004 (edit:2005) and still today the number one downloaded game is SA, of course :)
and a personal anecdote: when SA came out and my friend gave it to me to try I was like "meh" while installing because I thought new games at that time were improving so much and thought this will be just an average game for some unknown reason. Well, biggest and best surprise in my life.
I cannot wait to get this working hopefully tomorrow, and I am excited like a child again :D thank you so much again!

I've been thinking about more guides. I think I'll do III/VC in the future, kinda similar to this, but not as in-depth.
The SA guide can be used as a base and people can watch this first as it is the most complicated, then work down to the III/VC guides.
As for IV/V, I'm not too sure. IV is getting some exciting new mods in the future though and it will change how we install mods in that game, so I might cover that with a guide.
@@TJGM I'd love a guide for GTA IV/V as I've always found installing mods for the RAGE games to be particularly way more difficult than the Renderware games.

A lot has changed since I played SA-MP in 2009-12. As I used a pirated copy at that time I never had any issue with the mouse or other glitches with downgrading to 1.0. Maybe the cracked version was fixed in some way or another.

This guide doesn't cover controller support because people ALWAYS mess up their controllers with third party software and not everyone has a controller to follow along.
If you follow this guide completely, at the end search for a mod called GInput. This adds full controller support to the game, install it the way the mod tells you too. :)

I was about to start complaining about the asi loader not functioning till I reinstalled it, turns out my copy of the game (pirated) replaced the modded vorbisFile with the one from 2003, requiring me to reinstall it. When I did all of the essential mods you've recommended began functioning. Thanks for such an informative video!

hmmm, open limit adjuster... this might affect dyom's limitations, i figured out that adding 10-20 large objects can crash the game depending on where your character is currently placed, limit adjust should fix the crashes, only problem is other people have to install it when they play my missions
A very helpful guide. Do these mods also fix GTA bugs like very wide screen or stuttering or poor graphics? Because these kinds of things have been happening to me lately and I'm looking for a way to fix it

Hello TJMG, excellent tutorial, you have no idea how much it has helped me, I only have one question, set 512 streaming memory in open limit adjustet as you said, but the mods: improved streaming and mixsets also ask to set a number for streaming memory, so number Should I put those mods, the same number that I put in Open limit adjuster?

What do you think of just Gesha's faithful San Andreas Overhaul using mods? I got 100% while using all of the mods from his list, and it was honestly an amazing experience
Hey, do you recommend framerate vigilante ? It seems to resolve a bunch of issues and allows you to play the game in 60fps. With fps limiter on, the game still runs at 60fps. It's weird but for some reason even with this mod installed, having your frame limiter off makes you not be able to zoom in our out while looking at the map. What do you think about it ?
After installing and adding all essential mods the game was running fine.....
Next day it shows an error
"cannot find 1536x864x32 video mode"
So i search and got suggested to overide dpi in the properties of gta_sa.exe....
And it worked, will this setting be fine for modding?

Does anybody know how to solve the problem with not loading textures of modded cars/bikes in the game? They are just white... I've created a sub-folder inside the modloader and put all the .dff and .txd files inside. Do i miss anything? Thanks guys.
I got a question related to the widescreen mod, why is that when I use it, its difficult to land headshots on enemies? Now I got to aim on the side of the head instead of aiming on top of it and its really weird, I wonder if its something related to the F.O.V or anything like that. cool stuff, but Ultimate ASI loader breaks my game whenever I load a new game. The game hangs when its about to finish loading then CTD's. Any ideas on what to do?
this is still too complex for me. Luckly i found some San andreas trilogy version that has a DEP mod. which makes it look kinda nice. I wonder what is your opinion TJGM on the DEP mod out there which makes the game look kinda slick.

Hi, i've done everything you showed up in this video, step by step, and in the end when i installed open limit adjuster and changed the number, when i installed all the mods, my gta_se.exe stopped working. Now i click both executables and neither of those starts, not even from steam, do you know any solution on this?
Edit: nevermind, i went to settings in the gta_sa exe and click on the compatibily, enabling it to windonws xp (service pack 2) and it worked. (Sorry for my bad english)
I am trying to convert the classic AI Police helicopters, used in both GTA 3 and Vice City when you reach 3 starts in the respective games, I'm struggling with how can I even start to actually implement the systems of these helicopters on GTA SA, (I already have the source of the original script used to activate them in GTA 3 and VC)
The only issue I'm having with this guide is Widescreen Fix. When I use the old version it doesn't really do anything to fix the HUD, it stays stretched and the fov feels weird. When I use the new version though, everything works perfectly fine and nothing is stretched and the fov feels nice. I think this has to do with my monitor being 1440x900, but I'm not that sure. Any thoughts?

Sir, I've a query.
I had all these steps completed with asi loader, modloader, cleo installed and working properly. I was having some mods in my modlaoder folder and in scripts folder.
I uninstalled SAMP r2 and SAMP Addon 2.6 then again installed SAMP r5 and SAMP Addon 2.6.
Now, Im in doubt that did this step affected my mods/loaders in any way ? i.e SilentPatch(inside modloader).
How to verify this.
When I pause the game, it is still showing CLEO 4 (3 plugins)

Hello brother, I have a little issue with the Modloader. I am doing exactly as you are explain in the video, however when I start the game, the files that supposed to appear doesn't. I gave all the permissions to the folder of the game, to the Modloader folder but still without appear me the files that I need. What should I do? Did I skip a step? Thank you bro.
7:30 A quick sidenote to other people who may face this problem. I had to try twice before my game was able to load after installing ASI Loader. In my first attempt it kept freezing.

Can someone explain to me, what values ought to be changed in order for the game to start looking the way it is at 27:05? I've installed The O.L.A., but I also have ROSA installed (latest version, I think the November one). I have given a greater priority on O.L.A. (51) than ROSA (49) and everything else is on 50 (default). Still, many trees etc, only spawn when too low to the ground, with the results being too...explosive for my taste...
Any help, would be much appreciated!!

@@TJGM To be honest, I did, and I would like to share my experience so that others might be helped, like I did.
First of all, as you said on the first video and on the video about the downgrader, GUYS, don't keep the game on the C disk, even if it's on steam (like I did).
For some reason, even though all my mods would work (When I made the comment above, I had like 20+), 1 or 2 wouldn't work and cause the game to crash but the real issue was that it didn't matter what value I would set in the "Memory Available" option, it wouldn't change in game. With the OLA menu (f5) I would see that the value was always 256. Enough if you would play without texture mods but not much else.
So, I redownloaded the game on one of my other SSD/HDD and began modding again. Now the game work fine still, and the memory issue has been fixed.
Unfortunately, I still can't achieve the desired number of on-screen objects to appear, but I will keep looking into the matter.
ALSO, don't be a boso like me and decide to move your installation folder, from C: to e.g. G: after you've began modding, because it will break your mods (even if they're still shown on the installation folder) and you will have to start over again.
I did so from the STEAM "move installation folder" feature and it acts like TJGM mentions on the downgrader video, where "if R* updates the game through STEAM it will revert the downgrader and will break your mods".
Also, if you want to play the game on 60 FPS, don't touch the "Frame Limit" option on the OLA. Instead download the mod called "[III/VC/SA] Framerate Vigilante (fix high FPS bugs) - latest Update is August 14, 2022.

here a another tip if a mod tells you to change xyz thing in Open Limit Adjuster once the text file opens up hit control + f and type in the name the mod is telling you to change and hit enter and it will find it for you without you having to read the whole .ini file on a side note this also work for web browsing and you want to look up something on a webpage faster
Laptop version of widescreen still like full screen because of the ui still stretch or squish so its ok
For some reason modloader isn't creating the new files despite me moving it out of the game directory. I have moved it to a folder on my desktop but it still isnt working. any suggestions?
Hey guys, does anyone have compatability issues with Widescreen Fix and Project 2DFX? For me, LOD coronas render at a ridiculously short draw distance whenever I have Widescreen Fix installed. As soon as I remove the Widescreen Fix, LOD coronas go back to being rendered normally within the farclip.

Is your documents folder set as read only?
@@TJGM I'm not sure, how can I check? also the game's user files were in my specific user documents folder instead of being in the regular documents folder like other games
@@turjy4518 Both. Right click on the folder and click properties, you should see the read only box there.
@@TJGM Every documents folder I have on the PC is indeed on "Read only"
