10 ways to break in Dr MArtens:

Die Die sind auch
I have an original tough leather pair 16yrs +. Yes it took awhile to break into. Wore them at home, then as the leather started to bend more, I wore them out. And now they're so comfortable, like a 2nd glove years later. I also recently bought a soft leather pair, 1460 Pascal. For those who do not have the patience to wait to break into. Patience is the key. And taking good care of them is the key to longevity.
Nice.. 16+ years is worth the money
Do they still offer the,, Actual Work Steel Toe boots,, higher grain leather,, Double ""yellow " stitching.. and came with insurance policy.. valid only in Europe of course..
Mine are from 1992, Oxblood and Black..
Such a Good looking man, Thanks for all the good info! Just got them and they are a little painful but I love them.
I am happy I could help.. which one did you get?
Thanks for your video, this has nothing to do with but your voice is so soothing, I could hear you for hours :)
Thank.. I’m happy you enjoy my voice
Hey bro, cool vid, love ur doc martens content, used to consume all your vids waiting for my docs. However, I do feel that breaking in and the pain of it is a experience in itself, and you didnt mention much about double socking.
Thanks. I talked about protecting your feet with thick socks. Double socks can do the same
Loved my Doc Martin's Shoes in the 90's. I wore them to work & got my dad & brother a pair each. My dad worked in Events Ticketing & loved them when standing for hours. These were with the yellow stitches we coloured in black to wear with suits to work or going out.
Wow you’ve really had some good memories with Docs
@@Fodaydontplay These were a big investment & a shoe I wore to work with a suit. I had to walk from the train station to my university after work 5 nights a week so these were a great investment.
@@matthewbrown6163 okay.. you got the most out of it
This video is super helpful, Thanks
Thanks.. I am happy you enjoied it
I just picked up my first pair. I went with the 1460 Crazy Horse in a size 13. I have pretty wide feet so a 12 was just slightly too tight, so I got a pair of inserts so the 13s won't be too loose when they start breaking in more. I've worn them to work the last two days and I haven't had any problems with foot pain even after being on my feet for almost 10 hours. I'm really looking forward to wearing the hell out of these.
Okay nice.. you’ll enjoy the crazy horse leather
I got mine last week (1460), usually I wear size 6.5 but this time I bought size 7 to get more comfy, I tried them one day but they killed me I wasn't able to wear them for the second time 😢
another great tip for finding your size is taking a shoe that ready fits you perfectly and check for the size in cm/inches on the tag/box and then comparing it to the size chart on their website
That's a great idea!
I regretted buying the chelsea fur lined boots. I wore that for one day and it gave me a circular dark branding on both feet. Still there months later. I have worn it since but I bought long, thick socks if I ever do again.
Okay.. that will help… hopefully you have break in them already
I have owned many many Leather boots before including a few Dr Martens too. They have all been comfortable right out of the box, except this last pair pascal 1460 Streeter in leather (it feels soft). This pair is killing my feet. I had to go down one full size for this one. Anyway, I called the customer care and they sent me a pair of insoles, heel lift and moleskins to stick to the areas that leads to blisters.
Moleskins have been very useful. I don't have to put bandaid on me but instead on the boot and it stays there and protects. It still hurts when I wear it outside but it seems to be getting better very very gradually. I am trying to sell it on eBay so if someone wants to buy it before I break in, I will happily give it away. I am not new to leather boots but this one is definitely a piece of work 😂
Oo wow… not all docs are made the same.. hopefully you can sell them and get some money for your pain
@@Fodaydontplay I am experiencing that first hand but it's an expensive experience and quite painful too. Why can't they just make all their boots to feel great right out of the box? Are the ones that hurt more are better in anyway? Just trying to understand for future purchases or even to may be consider not selling mine
The quality of these deteriorated after the company transferred overseas, should’ve kept the factory in England, they ruined the quality and construction of these boots. They’re trashy quality now.
What makes them trashy?
@@Fodaydontplay the leather feels like plastic :(
@@playingcalm5116 okay.. what other boots do you like?
@@Fodaydontplay thursday and timberland offer good quality leather at a similar price, especially thursday. plus the other bonuses you get when a boot is actually good year welted like a cork filling and a leather welt.
@@playingcalm5116 okay. i am going to try out Thursday boot company this year to see how it is.. any recommendations?
Love you Kamara your videos really helped me with choosing my first boots I went with combs boots because I’m use to breaking in leather front my cowboy boots days 😂❤
lol.. I’m glad I could help. You’ll love the combs.
Excellent explanation.
Thank you
When I measured my foot their sizing chart showed a US men’s 9 for the length and a 15 for the width. I went with a 13 for the 8 eye 1460 boot and they were a tad big so I added a very thin insole and now they’re perfect.
Nice.. good tip
My Combs Wyoming are the comfiest boots I’ve ever owned, and had basically no break in, especially compared to my smooth leather Jadons which made my feet cry the first couple weeks
I definitely recommend combs.. they are like sneakers
Always size up! Put an insert in! Wear thick socks that go up past the boots and you should be good!👍🏽
Okay. Should I continue to wear think socks after breaking them in?
@@Fodaydontplayyou can co time wearing thicker socks if you want, but thinner ones should work. I highly recommend wearing socks that are at least ankle height to prevent the top of the boots from rubbing your skin.
But the smaller ones are so much cuter 😂. Make them work. Lol
My doc's are always roomy since my feet are narrow. Good socks and insoles do the job for me.
i wish they were wider.
I have 20 pairs of them... Yeah 20. I love them all and never had to break in anything. I would always size up rather than down. I never had too. The smooth leather are the most comfortable and patent leathers are super cute but not as comfortable. Still striving to get all the colors. My latest is the patent leather pink! Tall red roses are next!
nice! what is your favorite docs
I love the 1460 Pascal Floral Mash up Backands. They don't go with everything, but they turn heads everytime I wear them. I'm running out of room for the boxes and looking for advice. Should I let the original boxes go?@@Fodaydontplay
Jesus, I was watching this than i started dosing off cause of your smooth voice man, lol. Great content though!
Lol.. thanks
Always remember if you have wider feet get your size in wide. Not regular size. I learn that the hard way. Had to cut the seems at the fold of my toes by the tongue because when I would walk my right foot was in such pain. But ever since then each new pair does not give me problems.
I was an 8.5 and I realized that sizing down was the worst idea I am trying to sell a size 8 now and keep getting facebook scammers 😭 just wanting to get it sold to buy new ones.
Also, bandaids may work but I also like using KT tape because it covers more space.
Oo wow.. hopefully you can sell them at a good price.. I’ll try the kit tape next time but isn’t it thin
I bought the Graeme II online two years ago for AUD 200 (RRP 300). Sole has been alright, but goddamn the upper is super rigid. Especially the toe box. Because these weren't cheap, I just kept wearing them.
I'm looking to upgrade to R M Williams, but I just haven't mustered up the courage to splurge $700 on a shoe. 😭
Oo okay.. what makes them rigid?
I got a pair of kids Chelsea boots because my feet are tiny and they were cheaper. I’ve worn them to work and they were great. I’m in love with them.
Lucky you.. I wish I had smaller feet
Hi! I’m a 5 1/2. The size 6 felt big around my foot, as well as slipping. The size 5 feels more snug around my foot, but I just wish there was that half size in front. Should I stick with the 5? The size 6 look too big on me as well x
Hello! I wish they had half sizes too. Stick to the 5. They will stretch during the break-in process.. Which docs are you going to get?
Similar situation here, I bought the size smaller recently
The back has been stretched out but the front… not so much I wish I could break into them soon because it is uncomfortable to wear for long hours 😅
@@user-qu2rl9ng7pno you should’ve gotten the bigger size. Your toes always need wiggle room. You can just put an insert in them if they are a little too big. And wear them with thick socks.
I just got my very first pair online! I got my usual size and they are very comfortable, I could walk and run in them out of the box, which bothers me a little 🤔 They do feel a little bit spacy but I don’t mind that. I’m kinda scared the size is too big though, as you said they are going to free up even more space.
It sounds like they fit fine if you can run with them with no problems
@@Fodaydontplay Alright thanks for your reply! They are perfect when I wear very thick socks, actually ☺️
cool drinking game: have a shot everytime he says dr martens
My Dr Martins press down on the top of my right foot and I can feel the pain a inch or two above my toes and I'm not sure if they are too small or I just have 2 break them in
Stuff it with some newspaper when you are not wearing it.. it should free it up
1. Knowing the Different Type of Leathers
A. Smooth leather, tough to break into
B. Vegan Leather
C. Soft Leather
D. More types of leathers
2. Doc Marten size
Not too loose, but some breathing room.
Not too cramped with toes crunching, but snug.
Go to a Doc Marten store.
Measure your own feet
-Doc Martens don't have sizes
3. Break in Period for Doc Martens
Wear thick socks
Put on band aids on sensitive spots, usually heel, big toe, pinky toe.
4. Heat on Doc Martens & Wonder Balsm
Read directions on jar.
"Vegan Leather"... a.k.a Plastics
Lol..

I tried on Bethan smooth leather in-store. I wear a size 7. Tried on a 6 and it was too big (to the point my right foot felt like it was going to slip out). Then I tried on a size 5 and it was so tight it hurt and I couldn’t even buckle it closed.
Oo so if you adjust the buckle it still won’t fit for 5 or 6?
I bought mine in store about a year ago and wear them all the time and they are still ridiculously uncomfortable 😢
oo wow what happened
You probably got the wrong size. They are comfortable but they run big that part I hate.
I’m normally wear size 12 in women’s or an 11.5 in women’s. I have wide feet so normally my shoes are 12. What size do u recommend?
I think a 12 will fit you.. the women sizes are normally a little narrower than the men sizes… which pair of docs are you thinking of getting?
The only mistake is buying them. Cheap materials and construction sold for a too high price. Much better boots out there.
What’s a good replacement for them?
@@Fodaydontplay if you want the DM look, Solovair is the original manufacturer of Docs and are reportedly better quality. In general, Red Wing, Jim Green, Nicks, Whites, Franks, JK Boots, Thursday Boots…
Basically anything with a Stitchdown or Goodyear welted construction, preferably all leather - insoles and all. A good boot will last for years and can be resoled. And nothing feels better than a well broken in leather boot or shoe.
Took the words right out of my mouth. As for alternatives, if you're keen to buy British check out William Lennon, a bootmaker in Derbyshire. You have to wait for them because they're made to order. The prices don't break the bank though. In fact I think they might even be cheaper than DMs.
@@jimmeven1120 really.. I’ll look into it. Do they ship internationally?
@@Fodaydontplay Hello, I was just this minute looking at the website. There's a note saying "any duty and taxes in the country of destination are the responsibility of the customer" so I suppose that's a yes. I'm thinking of treating myself to a pair of their WW1 hobnailed army boots. This is the same company who made them in 1914 and they still use the original nachinery, patterns and lasts, so they're the real thing!
The shoe fits but the end it’s abit tight around my foot because I have wider feet.
That’s not good.. try stuffing newspaper in them when not wearing them to see if that helps
Hi! I just got my first pair of doc martens, the jadon boot. I’m normally inbetween sizes but I tried the size 8 and it felt perfect for me. Not too tight not loose at all, just a perfect fit. As I wear the shoes more, Im worried if I should expect the shoe to become too big for me overtime? What do you think?
Hello! you should be fine. your boots will not stretch over time if it does not need to. You are one of the lucky ones that can find a perfect fit.
If they are too loose just wear insoles
@@omarkharnivall2439 that’s true too
I had some in the early 90s lasted over 10 years!! My feet were bleeding untill I broke them in then really comfy! I Bought soft ones pascal I’m size 4/5 bought 4 fits good but they have heal slippage. I Tryed size 3 couldn’t put my foot in it! No in between size for me. I have small narrow feet.
I have same problem, I’m 6.5, took 6 but with insole in cramps my feet, without insole it doesn’t, did they loosen enough to make in half size bigger?
i never forget the time i was breaking in my Docs, i made the mistake of wearing thin socks & i ended up scraping 4 layers of ankle skin. i was limping for a week...lol
😳… that’s painful… seems like you fought through it while wearing them
i just bought my first pair and can’t even get my foot in it! I should’ve researched it because my feet are so wide and the shoe is insanely narrow. I’m around a size 7-8 but the 8 looks too big on me so i went to a 7. Unfortunately the shoe style may not be fit for me :(
that is unfortunate. which pair did you get? I wish they made half sizes
nice, are these good if you want to be a little taller?
All I wore in high school was docs. Same pair all through high school. They were beat up but so comfortable.
That’s good.. docs can last a while.. did you get another one?
I am breaking in my first pair rn I got a size 3 and I am very picky with my shoes and dislike boots but these ones are perfect
That’s great to hear.. which pair of docs did you get?
@@Fodaydontplay I forgot bit it was eight eye ones
@@PercydeRoloFangirl okay I’m guessing it’s one of the 1460… I hope you break into them fast
I wear a 9.5 and have a wide foot and just got the smooth leather boots and they are KILLING the roof of my foot.
The smooth leather are the hardest to break in.. you can stuff them with newspaper when you are not wearing them
@@Fodaydontplay so I went to the store TODAY after watching your video and switched to the 2976 Nappa Leather Chelsea and I will keep you posted! I think for the style with the laces I may go Thursday boot based on your suggestion I just LOVE the look of Dr.Martens but it was suffrage for my feet. GREAT videos and information though, thank you.
I love my 1460. They are so comfy. If you take care of them they do last.
Yeah definitely
i just got a pair of MINT oxblood boots for 25$ they are def real i checked all the things, the yellow inspection sticker etc. And they fit. The owner was having surgery and needed money. I lucked out
1:40 - this is wild. My feet are 9.25”. So it says a US size 6 would be best (they are 9.69”). And the 7s are 10.02”.
But the 6s are too tight on the top of my foot and the 7s have my feet sliding around. 😭. I can’t win. 😢
That's a proof that everyone has unique feet. But how about the length? Is it a bit long enough? I have 9 inches feet and I usually fit on 23cm to 24 cm. US 6 24.2 cm is also my usual measurement in DMs. US 7 25.1 cm is too big for my feet.
For me, I have a very short foot, so no matter what I’m going to have space links wise. But I have extremely wide feet extremely the width makes up for how short my feet are in my docs that I paid nearly $200 for a two narrow around my feet even though it’s two sizes bigger than my foot.
Oo wow interesting.. half sizes would have helped
I hate that they run big. I BOUGHT A PAIR because I have always wanting one but now I hate it, the seller won't take them back.
Dr martens sizing is so hard… that’s unfortunate
@@Fodaydontplay Most say they run big. I asked a few people after I bought mine.
@@Fodaydontplayis it too big for you or small
I've been wearing Dr. Marten's since the mid 90's & I've NEVER gone down in size when buying them. I wear a 7.5 & I always buy the 8's, that way in the winter I can wear thicker socks & people with wider feet will like the bigger size.
That’s smart.. it makes it easier to break in as well.
I bought some and the clerk said I should size down since I’m normally a 9 in regular shoes but once he gave me the 8s hell nah they were too tight lol so I got my usual size 9 and they were still hard to put on but at least they weren’t tight and I haven’t felt any pain or anything I’ve been wearing them nonstop since I bought them and I think they fit perfectly
You got luck.. seems like they fit nicely from the start.. which docs did you get?

i just got over the summer to match with my gf, hers is all creased up i haven’t used mines yet. it feels so weird walking in them cuz as a shoe guy i don’t like creasing. so is it okay & totally normal to crease them?
lol.. I don’t like creasing my shoes as well… there look good creased
yo you know where to buy the English made doc martens, the newer stuff breaks down to easy, my moms had her docs for 16 years, just wanted the leather that lasts
I wish I knew..they will sell out fast
I got my first pair of docs and am in the breaking in period. I’ve seen something about putting a drink can in the shoes when you’re not wearing them, but the doc website shows that with the shoes, but I haven’t seen it with the boots. Should I be putting the drink cans in my boots?
You can also stuff them with newspaper which is easier. It does the same thing.
if you like dr Martens buy Solofair (100% english made and twice the quality). the made dr martens shoes and boots before drmartens decided to send production to asia.
I am.. i plan on ordering a pair soon.. i want to compare the two
When recommending something you should spell it correctly. It's Solovair.

New be "s there. Very nice tho to see the shoe still popular with the younger generation. Still have my Original Doc Martens NaNa's 10 eyelet steel toe boots from back 1989 Purchased at the Santa Monica Ca 3rd street NaNa Store so long ago!...
Oo wow..How much did they cost you back then?
@@Fodaydontplay Bck then you could get your Docs at the Santa Monica store or others up on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. $69.99 - 89 00 depending on steel toe or not. 14 eyelet docs ran ya around $99 -109 and 20 eyelet $119.. Uk made! Big difference from today. Owned a pair of 14 eyelet docs at one time, but wasn't to crazy about the fit in summer hot days..
@@xKMA371x it would be for docs to be that price now..

I just got my first pair, i chose soft leather, but the base is fine, but the upper and back part is killing me 😢, i didn't wanted to go up once size cause it felt too big , but my size is killing different parts of my two feets.. . 😢
Okay. Massage the back part. Also you can wear thick socks if it’s not too hot out. The stiffness should go away fast since it’s soft leather
Do you get feet cramps? I can’t feel my toes… I hope they can loosen cause I can’t return them at this point and having pair you can’t wear-sounds sad
I bought a pair on eBay that someone else had worn for two years. Best decision ever. Saved $150 and no bloody socks.
Oo wow.. you really got a good deal
I bought one like new condition but they came big, I realized they do run a whole size bigger.
Do you have any recommendations for if it’s digging into the top of your foot
Stuff your boots with newspaper when you are not wearing them… make sure you even stuff it so that the top of the boots will stretch
I find the uk 5 to be too tight on the arch of my feet but the uk 6 too loose, I don't know what to do :(
Oo wow.. how tight is the 5? I am sure your feet will slide in the 6. If you have some wiggle room in the 5, they will stretch during the break in process and fit more comfortably when done
@KAMARA With the 5 I have at least half an inch of free space but a bit tight to wiggle, I find them more narrow on top but I'm afraid the 6 could loosen too much for me as I broke them in. My feet are exactly 24 cm long (9.44"), if I go with the size charts I'm supposed to go 5 right?
@@TheHermit72 Okay ill say go with a side 5. once you get them apply some heat to them and walk around in them. Also when yo are not wearing them, stuff them with newspapers. this will make them free up and be comfortable on your feet.
I'm planning to buy 1461 for my bf, his 1460 pairs is size 10uk. should i size up or down or just choose the samw size? thank you!
You have to ask him how they fit..1460 and 1461 are similar in sizing
Usually i wear size UK 8 but when i ordered doc of same size its tight for me. Does it just in the beginning or will it get loose along the time?
It will loosen as time goes.. which docs did you get?
Size 8 is to tight, size 9 is too loose. It would be awesome if they had this thing called half sizes. I got a wide foot.
Hey, there. I am debating on what size I should get for the Rikard Smooth Leather Platform Boots. My normal shoe size is a 9.5 (US), but I regularly wear a size 10 (US) in sneakers so I can have more breathing room and feel more comfort. Should I go for a size 9 or a size 10, I'm a little worried about the 10 being a bit too big and difficult to walk in...
Is it possible for you to go and try them on?.. I believe a 9 might be too tight for you
@@Fodaydontplay Unfortunately, the local malls in my location only sell Women’s sizes. So, I’m caught in a bind with sizing and checking out as many guides as I can. And the information isn’t exactly the same, let alone consistent…
I always go slightly bigger and I’m a size 11.5 get a 12 and I’ve never had a problem
What if my toes cramp in 37, but in 38 it feels too free from very beginning, if I take away insole in size 37 it feels better. I have Virginia soft leather boots, will they stretch if I take off insole and later put it back? Maybe someone had same experience 🥲🥲
Hey
I have chelsea boots in aize 5 uk and it fits perfect a lil bit long but because I have wide feet so it’s perfect. However I needed my second pair and I got the modren classic smooth 1460 in size 37 Eu, the length is perfect but it is a lil tight from the top. Will it strech? Or should I size up?
Unfortunately they are only available online.
You can size up or stuff it with newspaper if you already bought it
Hi, just purchased my first pair of doc martens online and really struggling with sizing. Unfortunately I can’t go in store so trying to work it out on my own. I have to wear insoles for flat feet and I also have very high instep so I find the bridge bit over the toe at the bottom of the laces is often tight. I’m normally a size 5 but when I tried them my feet barely fit and it was incredibly tight on my instep. I’ve also got 6 which seem to fit really well expect my heel is too small so is lifting up when I walk. I was going to try Heel Grips to try and take up some of the excessive space. Do you have any advice/suggestions?
I always go a full size down and wear them in, they're tight at first but then when they start breaking in they stretch and mould to your foot shape in my experience and they end up fitting perfectly and they are so comfortable, I also do the same with leather jackets as leather always loosens up with wear so if they fit perfect from the start they end up too big!
Question…I got a pair of the Chelsea Rometty in a size 7 (I’m usually a 7.5 in sneakers) they seem way too big so I got the Chelsea platform in 6 and seem a little small…do you have any suggestions.
The platform boots will stretch over time. ill suggest stuffing them with newspaper when you are not using them. Also, ware them with thick socks for short amounts of time until they get comfortable. Lastly, since it's winter ill say leave them in a warm room so the heat can soften the leather. A lot of people use a dryer instead. Just remember sometimes it takes some time to break in dr martens so be patient with it and eventually they will be very comfortable.
@@Fodaydontplay thank you!
hi! my other shoes say im a size 8.5, however when i measured them they were a size 6. because of this i bought my doc marts in size 6. the length is fine; however, the sides are too small as my toes are cramped together, with the biggest issue being my pinkie toe pressing uncomfortably against the boots. additionally, the top of the boot is highly painful and only slightly less so without the sole. should i try to break them in? or swap them for a size 7/8?
Maybe a 7 but if you want to break them in you can try stuffing them with newspapers when you are not wearing them..
What is the shape of your toes? Most likely, it also depends on toe shape. My 22.8 cm feet usually fit on 23 to 24 cm shoes. If I buy my 1st dm next month, I choose between US7 25.1cm and US6 24.2 cm. I prefer a little bit tight shoes as long as my toes are not so restricted.
Overpriced low quality boot. Basically the worst money spent on boots is getting any type of Martens
What’s a good pair of boots under 200$
But I need to know I have the pascal one but the 7 is way to big and the size 6 is a little to small basically in the 6 ones sometimes when I walk my big toe Nudge in the front but it’s not every time wich one schould I keep ? Because I used wet sockes and then I put them on they fit but when they dry the same thing happened again.
keep the 7 and try to stretch them out.. stuff them with newspapers when you are not wearing them. it seems like they are still new so they can strech
@@Fodaydontplay ok I will keep the smaller ones ☺️ thanks
Hi lads! I just got my martens (smooth leather) and my feet fits perfectly. I have no trouble around my fingers and my ankle. However, the boots are rubbing the top of my feet and it kinda hurts (from the point I put them on, during walks, etc.). Is it a sign that my martens are too small or will that break in? Opinions appreciated! :)
You have to break in them. They will free up. You can stuff newspaper in them when you are not wearing them
@@Fodaydontplay thanks! Getting better day by day! :)
Is it best for them to be too big or snug? I'm in between sizes in the Chelsea Boots. The size 9 feels pretty big with an extra 1/2 to 1 in of space in the toe area. The size 8 though, my toe is right at the tip. I'm just not sure how much they will stretch so I don't know if it is better to go snug or big. (Both are hard to get into the small opening, but the 8 is way more difficult 😂)
Lol.. Chelsea boots can be a pain to get into when the elastic is new.. when you walk with the 9 are your feet sliding in them? The 8 will stretch but since your toes are almost touching the front of the boots it will make it a little weird when breaking in them
does this also apply to the slipper dr martens or only the boots?
Mainly boots.. slippers are a little different
Where the fuck is 44 size missing ???
Guys are you kidding? It happens to me everywhere in online shopping.
Can someone explain to me what's going on?
I mean personally I’ve had a pair for 5 years and if you polish them every time they get wet then they last forever
That’s good.. as long as they are lasting longer
@@Fodaydontplay honestly, my main concern with them is the soles are starting to wear thin now but the uppers have lasted longer than any shoe I’ve ever had and they’re so comfortable. Must be luck of the draw these days.
@@Fodaydontplay I’ll come in and add aswell my moms had a pair since 1992 and the soles nor the boots have worn so quality has definitely decreased over the years
@@outbound2672 wow.. a lot of people say the quality has gone down since they moved to Asia.. I wish I could get a pair like your mom
@@Fodaydontplay 100%, I occasionally see pairs like hers pop up on second hand websites but I don’t think I’ll ever get the exact boot she has
My heels kick up just slightly is that normal?
No.. are they big?
Hello there!
I'm a 7 1/2 in sneakers. Also I've measured my feet and I got 10.04 inch (25.50 cm). I'm interested in buy a pair of Dr Martens Jadon strap rare. I have seen that 5 UK (6 US M, 7 US L) are 10.02 inch (25.45 cm) and 6 UK (7 US M, 8 US L) are 10.35 inch (26.28 cm). Which size do you recommend me? Do you think 5 UK would be too tight? 😕 Thanks in advance.
Get a uk 6.. the othe one will make you cry 😭… they will stretch when you break in them
@@Fodaydontplay thanks for your help 🙌 I'll look for 6 UK
@@odirrodriguez6993 let me know when you get them
Im planning to buy my first 1461 online most of my shoes are around US 7.5 - 8, should I get a US8 or 7?
Do you have wide feet?
hey i wear a 7.5 in most US shoes, when i went to the docs store the 7 felt way better and docs also recommend going down in size
I got a 1/2 size bigger and wear thicker socks.. but after a while i feel like its too big on me.. 🤣🤣
😂 wow.. at least you didn’t have to go through the break in process
Heyy I was wondering what’s the difference between the 1460 ans the Sinclairs shape-wise?
Hello! I do not have a pair of Sinclair but everyone I know with them said these is really no difference… 1460 and Sinclair are similar
@@hells_kells thank you so much!!
I have vegan leather Docs and they were much easier to break in!
yeah, they are.. how long have you had them
Never heard anybody talking with so much passion about a shoe. But there is something to Dr. Martens. Its more than a shoe. Thank you for the video.
Lol.. thanks.. I like boots/shoes
I have been wearing Dr martens for at least 20 yrs I have always sized up not down and I wear thicker socks.
Do you wear thick socks during summer time?
@@Fodaydontplay yes but I not ones you can see. So for my boots they only go to the top of my boots any extra sock gets folded over inside, and for my oxford shoes I wear no show thick ones. If you want a cute pair of socks to show with your oxfords you can always put them over a no show thick sock.
@@tracyramos1019 okay.. do your feet sweat during the summer time?
@@Fodaydontplay yes if you're outside for a long time.
@@tracyramos1019 okay.. I put thick socks in the winter
I made all these mistakes so I think I'll just stick with my air forces.
Lol… the all black ones?
@@Fodaydontplay No I'm not like that
@@frankswims okay.. you don’t seem like it
The easiest way to break in Boots is to put them on for 48 hours don't try to walk in them just put them on and let the heel cup conform to your heal. Perfect to do if you have two days off just put them on and walk the least amount you can. Once your heel is conformed to walk as much as you want
Okay interesting
Double up on socks or wear ankle braces with regular socks.
Interesting.. I’ve never heard about the ankle brace to help
I got the double sock hack from Micheal Jordan.
thanks for the great tips.
may i ask. i use size 8 US in all of my shoes of all types. but i haven't tried that for Dr Martens. should i use the same size?
Thanks.. do you have wide feet?
@@Fodaydontplay not really. im a bit slender in structure.
@@thechisensei okay… I’ll say maybe a 7 or 8 depending on the type of doc martens you want to get.
@@Fodaydontplay i see. i was aiming for the made in england 1460. so yah, would surely consider you advice. it's just that all of the dr. martens stores in my country decide to close for good, unfortunately. perhaps myt try to ask around if some of my friends have similar or same model, just to make sure. coz i would probably purchase the shoes online and there is no way to know if it perfectly fits. keep awesome!
@@thechisensei that’s unfortunate.. ill say get a 7 get… when you break in your docs.. it should free up… also you can measure your feet and compare it to the size chart on the dr martens website.
Great feature,, also voice,,

Thanks. That’s right especially during the holidays
You don’t break in to them dude…
You break them in..
For all you new Dr Martens wearers, use mink oil on them during wet weather, just don't let your dog near them afterwards they like the smell.
