In this video, we look at another way to balance tires. Centramatic wheel balancers have made it so I'll never balance a tire again! Balancing beads were very good at balancing tires and did their job but, they have one huge flaw that is every time a tire needs to be changed out the beads need to be replaced. Furthermore, if a tire is destroyed, then the balancing media is lost. With this new method, tires will always stay balanced. Plus, the best thing about this new method is that it balances very large tires with easy, and you never have to get change the balancing media out. #tires #balance #offroad
This is a none sponsored video, I personally paid for centramatic tire balancers myself. If you are interested in the product, here is the company's website: www.centramatic.com

they work, was about to trade in my PowerWagon
Well, it's not a new thing... I bought a new 1968 Chevelle SS396 (in 1968) and I bought/installed a set of wheel balancers that looked and functioned exactly like this product. They were made to look just like this. They were constructed of a stiff, black plastic, and they also had the metal BB's in the unit. They worked well, in 1968, so I'm not surprised to hear that they work well, now (only 50+ years later)!
Good to know they worked back than and now today! Thank you for the history lesson.
Centramatic is not new. I personally have been using them on semi trucks and trailers for years. They are a good product
How have these held up for you? Ordered a set for my 97 TJ with 15" Wheels. Have them on my 95 Kenworth front and back. Worth the price and pay for there self in less tire wear fast.
They have held up great! No issues what so ever.
I tried these they worked well for the trailer. I was however disappointed that they weren't stainless. At that price I thought they would be and they looked stainless in the picture. So here in the Rust Belt I think they will eventually rot out
Glad to hear they work well for your application. So far, they are still working well on my jeep. I was kind of thinking the same. The only thing that might save them is that they have a heavy galvanized coating. But, one day it might be necessary to clean and paint them.
Why not paint them?
@@cencoast_7.340 That is one option.
Galvanizing is more rust resistant than stainless. People that think stainless doesnt rust is pretty gullible.
they don’t rust out I’ve had them on my semi truck and trailer for years
Well? How are they working? Did you remove the weights from the wheels?
I'm running 255/85/16 KM2 's and they balance like they're square!!
I have about 3,000 miles on these already and they are working amazingly well. Funny thing, I didn't have to remove the weights from the wheels, some how I have self removing weights!
If you are having balancing issues, I highly recommend these. The best thing about these are that once they are installed, they never have to be touched again. Regardless of tire choice. I hope you enjoyed the video, thank you for the question.
Always pre balance your tires and wheels. The centramatics will only correct so much so if you pre balance they still have room to balance the rest of your wheel end.
do they make them for 16" car wheels? looked on website, couldn't find anything
They do! I would call. Their in house selection is a lot bigger than the website leads to believe. At least that’s what it seams like.
@@EmbarkWithMark thanks
Good review, do they say how many years or miles they last?
They do not, however the reports from big rig users are years. I think the only thing that would ruin them is if the rusted through.
Will they work on a built truck with 35s at speeds over 100 mph i sometimes get an itch I've gotta scratch.
Big truck yes... over 100 mph, TBD.
@@EmbarkWithMark ..darn i keep looking for this info dont wanna be racing and get death wobble
I don’t see why they would not work at that speed.
Maybe don't race a high center of gravity brick above 100mph lol. Get a lightweight low to the ground car if you want to do 160
@@sategllib2191 it got scary once truck felt like it was floating let off haven't done it since..I've been 179 on my r1 rode and raced for years till the 25 of this last june..went on a quick ride around d the block and hit gravel at 30mph..lost it..4 broken ribs broken clavicle..30plus stitches in my head and road rash..sold the bike
How are they holding up?
Very well!
What is your lug pattern on your jeep?
5 on 4.5
@@EmbarkWithMark Thanks bro, do you know the O.D of the balancer? I'm trying to see if they will fit my 92 f150 but I have the 5x5.5 bolt spacing. Hopefully they make one that fits my truck.
I can tell you they do, they make them for all makes and models of trucks. I recommend calling them.
Do these work better than beads?
Yes, they work much better than beads.
@@EmbarkWithMark I looked at their website, but I didn't see them for 5x5.5 bolt pattern. I'm going to a 17" wheel and doing vanco super 16 brake kit.
@@jimmyvalhalla1939 I recommend calling them directly. They have awesome customer support and they will most likely have something that fits your application. Technically the balancers I am running are for trailers, but they work great. The guys at Centramatic recommend that over the common jeep size they have due to the inner diameter of my wheels. I've had zero problems and they work great.
@@EmbarkWithMark how much were they mate ?
TASSIE 4X4 These balancers are $199.99us for a set of 4. They are a bit pricy, but so far I think they are worth it. Plus I don’t have to pay to have any tires balanced, or take them to a shop. The tires are wearing very very well so far. But time will tell.
Did anyone get a part number?
Sorry about that. I'll update the description with the part number. The part number is 300-345 Here's the link to the exact part, amzn.to/3HgoC0W
@@EmbarkWithMark thanks bro 🙏
Your welcome!
you talk like big truck tires are smaller than your tires that you think are huge on your Jeep. Lol. Anyway, Centramatics balancers are fantastic. I had no doubt that you would be pleased.
It’s not really about the size. More that those 18 wheels have a lot heavier tires.
It’s a few years later and I’m very happy with them.
What do you mean; ...... did their job but, they have one huge flaw that is every time a tire needs to be changed out the beads need to be replaced. .... ????
Balancing beads that are poured inside your tire need to be replaced when you change tires. These balancing rings do not have that problem.
@@EmbarkWithMark balancing beads inside the tire? I've never heard of this, nor these balancers you installed
@@dickfitzwelliner2807 Ah! Yes, tire balancing beads are a big deal in the offroad world. Specifically when you have larger hard to balance tires.
The beads work very well, however, not as well as the balancing rings. I’m a huge fan of the balancing rings and install them on most of my vehicles, if I can.
Is that the part number for the ones you got? Because I need some for my 15 inch rims aswell 🫠 there’s 300-345A and 300-345 with no (A)
I honestly can not remember, and am having a hard time finding the order to tell you. I recommend calling Centramatic. They are awesome and quick to deal with.
