As a retired truck driver, I KNEW that these would be a good deal for you. Thanks for the update.
Purchased Centramatic rings for my C4500 after viewing your video last year highlighting the product. Made a significant improvement in ride quality and I recommend to anyone with a commercial wheel and tire on their truck. Thanks for the great content!
I have these on my motorcycle. I love them makes my Goldwing feel more fantastic and a lot better tire wear too. I’ve had them for years!
Thanks for getting to the point pretty quickly. Glad to hear these are working out for you!
I really like those wheels. I have the Centramatic rings on my F250. I install my own tires and never speed balanced them. The Centramatic rings work really well for smoothing out the ride. It doesn't do a darn thing to soften the ride, just helps make the smooth roads more smooth. I recommend adding them if they are available for your vehicle.
Ordered mine the other day. Excited to give them a try. Heard alot of good things.
I bought a set for my 2015 Silverado 2500 when I went to 35" mud tires and they perform flawlessly, no shake or vibration.
After watching the video of you installing these a couple months ago I got a set for my 14’ F-550 and I must say they did improve the ride quality a lot. But at the end of the day it’s still essentially a medium duty truck and no matter how good the tires ride the suspension is almost non existent when running empty. But definitely recommend these.
I just ordered a full set directly from Centramatic for my 2006 Ram 3500 dually. We take several cross state trips pulling our travel trailer. I have been looking at getting these for a few years now and your video help make the final decision. New Subscriber now too.
Thank you
I can attest to the Centramatics. They work excellent. I've been running them on my F-250 for about 4 years and recently put a set on our new travel trailer. Even if your tires balance out perfectly on a machine these are always compensating for any out of balance condition, such as mud or dirt stuck in a wheel or rocks in the tire tread. In my case I've noticed they take the choppiness out of the tires which comes from running unloaded. I always run Michelins on my trucks and Goodyear trailer tires and these without a doubt extend tire life.
Thanks JD. May be picking up a 450 soon and will keep these in mind.
Installed them on my 2016 RAM 3500 SRW. Best thing I ever did. Should be installed at the factory. No sponsorship, just a happy customer.
Perfect timing on this video. Mine shipped 2 days ago for my 2018 F450. 78mph mine shakes like a vibrating bed. In the next 2 weeks I will have 19.5x6.75 wheels, 245/70 19.5 conti HD3's installed again, and rancho 9000's. I hope all this helps when not towing. I love my truck for towing. Plenty of power, plenty of torque. I just have some problems to deal with since its my daily driver and I drive the heck out of it every day.
Any updates on how your truck is riding?
Thanks for making this follow up. I've watched your other vids related to the 450 shake. We are having a similar issue at work. Sounds like this may do the trick.
They worked very well on w900 extended tire life smoother ride
Great update, I remember the installation and have been waiting to see how they've been doing. Guess if people can hear at low speeds it's time to make the truck louder? Jk hope to see you around JD
I'm not a Ford guy, but that's a beautiful truck. I can't speak for the Centramatics on a truck but I put them on my Goldwing motorcycle and it is a huge difference. The Goldwing also suffers from a wobble around 40 mph after you get a few miles on them. These fixed it.
Man I'm glad I found this. I've got a ram 2500 that the dealer can't find my vibration issue as you describe. I see your in CC as well, pretty small world.
I have used these as well as beads for years and am a big fan of both. They will balance a wheel but not eliminate a shake due to an out of round tire or bent wheel assembly. You can balance an egg but it will not roll smoothly. I still have new tires road forced balanced to ensure that the rim tire combo is in their best orientation and nothing is out of round. The balancers will not correct an out of round tire.
True about the sand sound.. lol I actually like the feeling I've had some for 700k miles. They do work
We run them on all our semis and trailers we love em
I use dyna beads on my truck and motorcycle. Removes the bounce and vibration. Tire wear change does not degrade balance.
My C6500 Top Kick now has a very smooth ride with the Centramatics on my 22 inch rims.
I chose Centramatics over beads as I think in the long term Centramatics will outlast the beads.
I tow a 3850fl Montana. Intend to get the rings for 5th wheel asap.
I put them on my 2004 F250 when you originally did a video on them. The wheels are still balanced as well. It did help the shakes at about 72 miles per hour. Not perfect but much better. My Discount Tire would not mount to the truck so I had to install them myself. I argued with them to no avail. They claimed they were like spacers. idiots. I do wish Centramatic would improve the finish as I run slotted rims and you can see them underneath. Not the prettiest things for sure.
Just heard about these, just might get them.
I recognize the SPID in Corpus as the hand sanitizer road - perfect test, that road (like a lot of Corpus roads) is terrible :) Just picked up a set of Centramatics for my '18 F450. Should have them painted and installed in a few days. The seat shaking thing at speed is real, hope it fixes mine.
I prefer the balance masters balancers, they have a better balancing agent inside and make no noise at low speeds.
this worked for me also......... S.P.I.D. still looks the same as it did 40 years ago except it looks like it needs paved
definitely worked on a 2500 PowerWagon
Had a 2008 f450 king ranch, had a lot of wobbling problems. Just got a 2020 f450, 11 miles on it when I got it, 1200 miles when my centramtics came in. Night and day difference, 70-75 mile per hour wobble seems to have gone away. Wish I knew about them in 2008, spent a lot of money on premature tire wear!!
Whom did you have your Centramatic installed? How is the ride when running empty? I ordered F450 Limited and will likely get it in 2023. I do not tow and my current F350 Dually is basically for light to medium hauling up to 3000 lbs about 20% of the time. I am just getting F450 Dually because of the look and quicker turn but am concern on how it may ride. At the moment, I take to Discount tire for F350 tires and rest to Ford dealer Truck shop. Do you find the special place to get the tire work done on your F450? Any tips or advise is welcome for future F450 owner.
Even though I have the Centramatic balances on the camper I still balance the wheels.
I have have them on my f450 for a year now. Almost 18000 miles.
What’s your thoughts on them?
do you know what part number you had ? what kind of centramatic balancer did you tell them you needed since you have one steel and one aluminum wheel in the rear? because when you go on their site all they offer is aluminum or steel nothing about combination wheel set ups. wanted to ask you since you have done it and had success with it. thanks for help. great video.
Hey JD... you if anyone would know. I’ve even talked to dealerships and they can’t tel me why there are rubber “stabilizers” I guess on the very rear of my 450. What are they for? Would they cause a shake? I may have to get a set of these rings. My tire shop has tried almost everything to get rid of the shake and I’m putting on thousands of miles every month on a hotshot. Thanks!
My brand new truck start shaking every time I pass 65mph took that truck to 4 different dealer everytime got an alignment they even blame the Goodyear tire got to the conclusion only happen when I wasn't pulling any weight i drop the tire to 70 psi and the shake when away but really looking into does centramatic since not alot off places can lift the truck , thank for the video
When one can't explain what is wrong, just blame the next guy.
This is what the techs did to you.
Just put these on my 2019 F450.
Thanks for the video. I have a ram with a similar shake problem. They cannot balance the wheels for nothing I bought the central attics left the wheel weights on, and I still feel a shake. Do you recommend taking the wheel weights off? Thanks.
What air pressure are you running on your truck currently with the contentials?
Is this vibration common on the F350 SRW and DRW?
My truck has a bounce to it ' with a gooseneck loaded ' I changed the shocks ' is this part of the balance problem?
Is there an alternative that doesn’t come with the sound? I think they sound terrible and it took me forever to figure out it was the balancers. My truck came with them so had no clue what to look for.
What kind of 5th wheel? I’m working with Jesse to try and get a set for our DRV Mobile Suites.
Did you remove the wheel weights when you added the Centramatics?
For the guys driving trucks out there, does your truck only shake in the rear at highway speed? I have rotated my tires and I only get a wheel shake in the rear of my truck which is weird.
we use balancing beads with great success
I put them on the canper
smoothening??
Have them on my 3500hd didnt help the shake. Only thing they did was keep the brake dust down a bit
Not sure they would help much on a 17" tires. Weights usually work best.
It is actually 18+ miles an hour when the "sand" sloshing sound goes away.
Hard part of balancing 19.5 tires is getting it right on the balancer. I have several trucks at work in our fleet with that size. We spent a lot on a plate that fits the rim right. They are really heavy tires. I’ve had good results balancing those tires since.
My buddy had a similar system installed on his Honda holding. He said it was the only thing that made the bike stable in high-speed manuvering. I believe him because I've ridden with him. The average rider can't keep up with this guy anyway. He cut his riding teeth in Brooklyn NY on sport bikes.
Bottom line? HD pickups still ride like trucks!
Huge difference between a 250 and a 450 bud. In case you didn’t know..
Gerardo Linares yep. Their is a 350 in between, 2 more wheels and tires, and 8 more lugnuts plus a different grill and badge on the side.
Do they make these for a Ram 2500 2wd? I would definitely be interested. I've heard that they will increase the life of your tires as well.
I have them on my 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 and love them. I believe it would be the same part number for your truck, 300-318.
I think they would increase not only the life of the tire but all your suspension components, if you have a wheel hopping up and down it wears out every ball joint on that corner, the shock absorber and whatever else.
Just upgraded to the f450, that shake at 70mph freaked me out. Took it back to the Ford deal, they didn't know what the issue was. Now we know.
Thanks again JD
I just got my 2022 F450, its smooth at all speeds. I still plan on ordering these though.
My 22 f450 has some shake, ive installed the rings on the front and it made a big difference, still need to do the rear
@@F450FTW that is a great news. I have my F450 on order and per dealer, it will be 2023 F450. Centramatic for F450
front pn 400-422 / drive pn 400-423 . How is your experiences?
Are you rotating your tires? how? any other advise or sharing is welcome. I am going from F350 Dually to F450
@@wj2791 -I replaced the factory wheels with Alcoa wheels so I could rotate them all easier. Factory wheels you have to dismount and remount all the tires to rotate them. Also I run no wheels weights, just the Centramatics.
Are you still running these ?
Had Centramatics on the steer tires on my 2000 International for years. Loved them. Are they still made in the Fort Worth area?
Yes sir.
Yes, their customer help is great. JERRY ROBERTSON
DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL SUPPORT

ALVARADO TEXAS 76009
800-523-8473 - I sent an email and get the reply back on same day from Jerry Robertson. He gave me the part number for the front and rear for F450 Centramatic with cost. I am on waiting for my 2023 F450.
Do they have anything for the F650? Ours feel like they're going to fall apart at high way speeds
I'm sure they do
Truck doesn’t matter. It’s wheel sizes and bolt pattern.
Ask for Jerry Robertson in sales. Best in the business at Centramatic!
Do I still need the tires spin balanced?
No
I only paid $400 for a set of 4 for my new F450.
How do you pay 50-60 grand for a truck for it to not drive down the road without vibrating
Try 85 thousand
Maybe it’s the tires?
Hi :)
And it can't overheat the hub bearing?
Why would it?
Bought them for our f-450 but still seem to have vibration
Something in the drivetrain? Maybe a driveline?
15K miles? JT. How do you have so few miles on them. Are you driving something else. I bought mine after yours and I have 50K miles on them. They are noisy to about 15mph but they work. Still need to rotate tires every 10k miles.
I have a car and my wife's SUV. The truck gets driven about 60% of the time.
Not fully confident in the website for Centramatic. Their listings have ambiguity, listing the F450 multiple times. Can you please indicate the part number for the Centramatics that you ordered? My truck is a 2019 F450 Platinum. I believe that your truck and mine use the same part number.
400-422 steer and 400-423 drive
Big Truck Big RV Thank you!
@@ChangNoiRoy1 Did you get it installed?
Best place to purchase them?
Amazon. I paid 360.00 for front and rear for my F450.
in brasil we put litle plastic balls in the tyre
That's done here also. These work better
WHAT THE HELL!! THATS CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS!! ARE YOU FROM HERE ??
Would these work (be effective and worth the cost) on a Ford Transit Class B motorhome?
that the best thing that ever happened to a truck
Is it difficult to balance fifth wheel tires? I haven’t heard that balancing 5er tires was an issue. I can’t tell that I have a tire balance problem.
You won’t really notice the vibration transmit through the trailer up to the truck. Load rated tires have a lot of plies and each ply will generally have at least 1 seam. What’s worse is sometimes the ply seams layover each other and cause a massive imbalance.
Leland Holton so are most fifth wheel tires out of balance? Are they not balanced when we purchase a new fifth wheel?
I got the centramatic balancing rings and didn’t solve the problem. After actually having my continental tires 10-15 times including up to three times in one day and tip to two times on other day. Discount Tire found that one of the tires is out of round with a high spot. I’m done with continental tires. Nothing can balance a tire that’s not round. I was told. Of an old timer who can shave the tires. Still investigating.
Sometime flaws can slip through from engineers, no ones perfect
Ford has acknowledged the Ford Shimmy in 2017. But denied its a problem of theirs to fix. I got a letter stating such BS.
I have a 2018 F450 Limited and I added these about 20k miles ago. I’m still getting a shake at higher speeds, but not 100% of the time. It’s very annoying though.
I have m920 tires that I rotate every oil change. I’m hoping it’s just the crappy stock suspension wearing out (70k miles). I have Fox shocks I need to install. What else can I do? I understand that it’s a big truck and will never be fully smooth, but I’m sure it can be better than it is.
Did you get all your issues worked out? I currently have 20 F350 Dually Lariat and have F450 Limited on order with the dealer which I am told to expect the delivery in 2023. How do you rotate the rear inner tires? Do they take it off and remount? Who does that work for you? I will have to find the shop in my town when I get my truck. I know Ford dealer Truck Shop does that work, but they are always so busy. What parts have you changed out on your suspension? and whom did that work for you? Thank you for sharing. Even with all the problem, do you like your F450? Have you driven F350 Dually in the past?
Should be standard equipment
Damn shame $50K+ trucks need aftermarket accessories to accomplish a smooth ride comparable to any cheap new car.
More like $90k truck and still need them
It’s not the truck, it’s the tires.
A cheap new car and a f450 are apples and oranges. Cant expect a vehicle to be able to haul 2000lbs in the bed and ride good empty and loaded. Trucks have come a long way to be sure, but engineers can't outsmart physics
Just one tire on the 450 weighs the same as two wheels and tires on a regular car lol
Smoothening? ... lol ...
I drive a fleet F-450. Been complaining to our mechanics about the death wobble forever. They just put these rings on my truck. Did nothing but make the truck shake at different speeds now. In fact I think it's worse. Not to mention the racket they make at slow speeds around town. Not a fan
How is it now?
@@wj2791 So it's been about a year now that I've been driving with them on the truck. I will say it definitely tamed the death wobble on the highways. It still shakes too much for my liking but at least I don't feel like it's a dangerous situation anymore. I still hate the racket they make at slow speeds. If it was my personal truck I would never put them on. But my company uses retreaded tires which according to our mechanics are a nightmare to balance. Hope this helps
@@neekopeeko9054 Thank you.. I am still waiting for my F450. Once I get the delivery date, will put the order in for Steer and drive Centramatic. I am glad it made your company truck safer for you to drive.
Why not just use balancing beads? They're a lot cheaper and seem to accomplish the same task. Or, maybe they don't.. maybe it's a good topic for a video?
He already tried beads and didn’t really have consistent results. This leading the the balancing rings
I to have issues with balance beads. Some roads are smooth as silk and others about produce the death wobble. I will be trying a set in the near future.
This is similar to Dyna beads the motorcyclists use for wheel balance.
These are good. But not anywhere near 6 to 7 hundred dollars. More like $170 a set. Been buying them for years. Last truck I had I couldn't get more than 80k miles out of the steers. With the centramatics, I was easily getting 200k plus.
If they were made overseas they'd likely be much cheaper. Made in the US in a small factory and relatively low quantities drive the price up.
@@BigTruckBigRV Can you recommend any good shops in Houston?
The cure is a better quality front end
For the rest of us, go get a Hunter “Road Force” balancing ... end of story. Ive balanced much larger tires than this with amazing results.
It's the not size of the tire that's the issue. I tried Road Force
Big Truck Big RV i gotcha, thats why i said “for the rest of us” ... maybe I should’ve specified non HD truck owners. I run 37s on my land cruiser and road force was the only answer. Anyone with an off road rig and big rubber, road force is it
@@drsus0 That may be true, but as soon as you get any mud or dirt stuck in the wheel, or a rock or two in a tire that balance is gone. Centramatics are constantly compensating for any out of balance condition. Ive had them on my truck and travel trailer for several years and they just plain work.
I have 35x12.50 tires with 18 inch wheels, on my Ram 2500. I’ve had no problems with balancing and they just have standard stick on weights!
:-)))) :-))))
Its not a shake, it's a massage
Tire beads are the way to go. There reusable up to 5 times. Problem with your set up is expense. And the tire is not balanced. Tire beads 50$ for enough to do 4 tires.
I’m a ford death wobble victim. Never ever again.
Victim?
What in the world was in your tires before...something about beads inside the actual tire?!?! WTF?! At speed, those beads are gonna get "forced" to one part of the tire or the other...so that's not gonna help. I just don't understand why the tires/wheels weren't balanced well to begin with.
Don't like the idea of them making noise
ITS A TRUCK YOU WIMP
