I highly doubt those seats are new. I had a 91' E30 M42B18 coupe in Alpine white with the sport seats but with the exact same type of vinyl. It also looked brand new brand new when I had it. That vinyl is just super durable if you care for it.

That NOISE is a valve getting hung up in a dry valve guide. When it breaks free the valve shoots up and hits the rocker arm. The valve guide cleared itself out with those few cranks.

Yeah, really sounds like something dry and sticking a little bit. I was thinking one of the belt driven accessories as the noise seemed to be coming from off the driver side.
@@karlhopkins713 Yah hopefully the piston wasn't smacking the valve loose each time.
You can actually see this happen in the video at 12:50 looking at the valve in the top right corner of the frame.

There was even some debris visible in slow mo (0.25) play back speed
Alex, @ 12:50 the rocker in the really right top corner of the screen propped when the noise was made, looks like that had something to do wit it
Glad someone else saw that too. Looks like it was just getting stuck and popping closed. After a coupe turns it seemed to unstuck itself.

Saw that too…funny he just wouldn’t of reviewed the video at the time of the noise 🤔, you can clearly pin point where it was coming from.

I had a 76 BMW 530 when I was stationed in Germany in the 80s. Those seat covers if they are lamb were the best. Kept your butt warm many a cold European winter.

@@dingdong2103 While BMWs have become a major pain in the ass to maintain and repair the driving experience is great. I've yet to drive a single BMW that I disliked when it comes to ride/handling and how it feels going down the road.

Watching that rocker arm pop back with the sticking valve gives me flashbacks to the hard stuck valve on an old Ford 300ci I resurrected a few years ago.

If you go to 12:51 and turn the playback speed down to 0.25 (slow-mo) you can see the stuck intake valve break loose and shoot some debris out too. Top right, 4th intake valve (counting from left to right)

(Edit: only applicable to the 325e/528e with the 'eta' motor) REPLACE THE COLD-START INJECTOR!!! The one on the intake manifold. They always leak eventually, and it drips down onto the exhaust manifold. I’ve seen several fires caused by that happening. Also may need to replace the head bolts with the updated style.

There's NO Cold-start injector on a 325 "I" motor, That injector is only on the earlier 325 "E" or aka "ETA" motor.
