Every few years I try to get into this game because i find it super fun, but it's hard when you don't have a dedicated group to play with
Well there are group/clan finders you can look for plenty of clans willing to take in new members.
Look for an outfit to join m8, it makes the game so much more fun playing with a whole bunch in a platoon all working together. A lot of outfits have a specific day they will play together too so everyone is online and its a blast. Dont listen to the people who say its pay to win, its really not. Pretty much everything bar cosmetics are unlockable in game and you start with the best guns right from the off. Also the hack accusations are pretty unfounded too, its rare youll find someone cheating. Sometimes it feels like it might be so, but you need to consider the netcode, the fact that its an older game and also the fact that most people have played it for years, are extremely good and are practiced headshot mentallists which is where the damage multipliers are at. Give yourself time to get used to it, its such a good game.

Nah, I do it all the time. But I just join random battles and just do what I do best. You don't necessarily need a group unless you feel lonely.
Planetside 2 was there for us when no dev team dared to make a giant FPS MMO and it looked great for what it could display in a match, still holding the record for the biggest online battle with over 1k players.
I hope to see a similar game in my life.

You don't have to hope to see a similar game in your life, you can play it right now...
But yeah I hope they make a #3 and that it's polished and feels (even more) like Unreal Tournament during fighting (and with even more balance/versatility across factions)
For instance it's usually better to spawn Lighting for VS (with just a few exceptions) than a Magrider. They're only at advantage at max range but that's very rare (there's too much map clutter usually) and in those cases there's usually 3 Engineers and an impenetrable NC shield or something that the guns can never hope to win over, even with max AT main & secondary (for VS)... It's _cool_ but I digress... (and likewise it's almost impossible to _hit_ for the other factions at max range)

Ah yes NC, the faction that - with no exceptions - always try to f*k up the faction *NOT* in the lead (and I've yet to figure out why) lol, making both NC and Vanu (or NC and TR I guess) lose and guarantees 40% advantage at any point is _always_ a win, even if it would have a 12h lockdown timer.
And TR that always (edit: *VERY* sweatily and with jihadist fervour) seek to destroy player bases in small groups (edit: like if they murdered their whole family), no matter where they are and regardless of what offensive use it has or what they've done, because you can never have anything good with TR around.

I last played planetside 2....decades? ago. This was accurate then. TR always fucked us NC up, so we avoided fights with them and took on Vanu from the flank as they tried to ignore us. @@SebHaarfagre
I don't recognize half of the vehicles or maps, or player bases or anything. I remember feeling guilty that I bought the big revolver for real money when it came out, but stealth infiltrator with it was amazing.
Just like there's comfort food there's comfort videos and for me my most favorite comfort video is always nano's most recent release, watching his videos since long ago makes me realize that im watching nano's character development too and its amazing!, I wish nano health and happiness and I hope you keep up your work for us, LONG LIVE THE GREAT NANO!

As a beta player for planetside, seeing how far its gone and how much more they've added to it is amazing. Thank you nano for this HILARIOUS look at PS2. =^.^=
As a beta player for the original planet side I miss the looting of dead enemy bodies and putting their weapons into lockers for later use. Even though PS2 is such a great game it has been watered down for the newer generation and features from the first game lost. You will never know the joys of dropping behind enemy lines doing a generator hold so they can't spawn certain vehicles anymore until the get the gen back up that links it to the bases.

@@rsman23 As someone who liked to get a cloaked Sunderer and park it behind enemy lines. I am all to aware. As I was the one that placed them near the ammo tower or vehicle spawn.
Explosive/mine detector implant is your friend, unless you run very fast and not pay attention, it help save you lot of time though
@@royaldarkness8453 it's not very helpful on a harasser whos brakes are a questionable existence. 50m on a vehicle that goes 80 with turbo.

Had no idea you played PS2! Literally the only game I always end up going back to over and over again, there's just nothing else like it, sad to see the player count drop over the years but at least it's still PlanetSide vibes during prime time.

What I've learned once again from watching Nano is that you should never give him a big vehicle. But its good to see him play Planetside here!

KInda hard when you're a loner and some of the community like to gatekeep from newcomers. The game can die off for all I care at this point.
@@MLPIceberg I mean I play solo most of the time. I do occasionally join larger platoons (shout-out Voodoo Company), and they aren't the least but gatekeepy. Sounds like you had some negative experiences, but don't blame the game for asshole gamers. From my experience, people who have been playing PS2 since launch are some of the friendliest (albeit nerdiest) people around. Some are a bit too mil-sim roleplay, but you can just not talk to those peeps lol.

planetside 2 honestly one of the best mass multiplayer shooters ever its a shame the original devs let the game die for like 3 years before it got sold off then it took a few more for it to get into the hands of the current devs who actually update the game but im glad they still give it some love honestly its a amazing game even with the years of time i put into it i still love it just a shame the Australian server is gone Brigg's for life o7
same here bruz, loved it for years. i whaled it, skins on every team/vehicle lol. when they changed the vehicle spawn points all into 1 point type it killed the balanced meta, things got stacked, ONLY overly skilled pilots, whales got way too much hp n just rammed anti-air tanks to death... i couldnt play it anymore. good to see its alive, i retry it every few years n the balance kills me :(

Beware though, some people compare the new player experience not as a steep incline but a flat mountain wall.
It takes some getting used to if you have no idea what the game is about or how it works and you could easily end up walking around a empty field with nothing going on if you do not know where to and how to get to the fights. Highly suggest either watching some more general videos and/or video guides unless you have someone you know that can show you around the first few hours.
I love it it's like a super battlefield game, plays similar much more teamwork happens though more a kin to something like squad but the game overall plays like a battlefield game.

Planetside 2 is the most reliable source of fun, chaotic memeworthy gameplay, and some of the best battles you can find. So glad to see Nano playing it again, the game needs more attention.

Regardless of whether they stick with the game or play it a lot, I wish for all gamers to at least try this game and experience one truly large battle, so they can really know how special the game is, and one day, was. There is nothing quite like it, and it's awesome.

Damn, Planetside 2 is still one of, if not THE most massive FPS game. Tanks, aviation, artillery, infantry... And that's all on a giant map! That's natural warfare! Even Arma 3 servers have less people and tech! Back in 2015 that was one of my favorite games. It's may be not the best time for it now, but ya know? I'm just glad to see it still alive and with a lot of players.
5:22 that's a legit strategy dubbed "Jihad Flash" in-game. Throw a bunch of c4 on a stealth flash and activate it near an enemy tank.

I once managed to stick a colossus upside down on the ceiling of a base. Took an OS, hit the deploy button, and with the magic of server lag the single best moment in all my time planetside.
And with the help of a couple sundies we even managed to flip it back over.
Nice to see Planetside again.
It's a shame battles are no where near the size of the early days (like the beta), but I feel they've managed the player lower player count well enough to have a similar experience most of the time over these 11 years.
I’d say the battles are similar size, there’s just only one or two big ones on the map.

for some added fun don't forget the flash because it can cloak, so have an infil as the driver and an engi with a detonator on the back :3 you will scare most tanks with the perk that lets them see the floating c4 barreling towards them.

FunFact for 5:19 the german helicopter Airforce has no 30mm or similar on its Tiger helicopter.
Therefore there would be no footage.
I can tell many of these clips are at least I year old, (pumpkins give it away) but I love any mention of this old classic. Pop counts have been rough ever since Battlebit released, but I hope there is some return as I still hold this game dear until a proper sequel can be made.

You'd think other people would make FPSMMOs like this, but PS2 is still basically the only one on the market. Give me 3+ factions all with different aesthetics and philosophies and that's basically all the lore I need to play another game like this, and I'm not even an FPS-enjoyer, this is just chaotic fun.
I kinda miss it... Having two platoons worth of tankers duking it out in Indar was one of the funniest experiences I had.

The Planetside 2 factions would work well in a RTS Dawn of War style game. 3 way war with all preexisting classes and vehicles represented, with the lore progressed to justify the inclusion of a few new units. They could even create specialist units like PMC's for the New Conglomerate. Plus Nanite System Operatives could be a super powered (but expensive) unit that can be available to all the factions.

Low player count is its main issue right now. So if your itching to try it, please come and join.
