Thanks for the video, sad to hear that there is currently no power loss recovery... but still happy with it.
When I first got mine, I didn't know about support adjustments or really how to setup anything in Cura. So my Mando helmet looked like your print, 2 different colors because it used a whole role...lol
On this much big of a printer, you WANT the power recovery feature to work. There would be so much wasted filament. Thank you for your review.
I just got and starting playing with my new Kobra 2 Pro. This video is spot on. Wish I had seen it before I ordered. My first large print got interrupted for some reason while I was away at a meeting and quickly found that unlike my Vyper there was no recovery. Probably just as well since I also had the same supports and they were impossible to remove. Later prints using regular PLA and normal slow speeds and organic supports have turned out great so far.
My pre order is arriving Monday. My only other printer is an old Anycubic delta printer. Delta is certainly fun to watch, but I need a bigger volume than the smallish conical build area of the delta I have for car parts.
I have 2 of these machines. They are running good. You're running cables wrong. You need to run the large cable under the filament runout sensor. Then you cable tie it.
Thank You, I will make the changes
@@UpgradetechContinue printing after loss of power doesn't work via USB. Try using SD Card
@@marcfair2163 There isn't any SD card slot on the Kobra 2 Max though
excuse me, can i ask you to share you printing settings? I literally can not get any good quality...
hi friend, could you share the slicer profile? because I have the impression that the autolevelling is there only for fun, as if something is missing in the gcode, I added m420 s1 sle without success to have a perfect first layer
Nice video mate , i am between this and FLSUN V400 , what is your recommendation ?
Nice to find someone else who uses a torch.
i bought Kobra 2 Max after watching your video, what is the printing speed you set
I see some scratches in your build plate. Did you also have a z axis tool ramming episode? I had a real bad one. The printer is still down.
What slicing software do you use?
Hi, does it support OctoPrint
super vidéo merci
I brought two Kobra 2 Max printers with an extruder nozzle fan problem. The second one also has a leveling sensor probe issue, smashing the bed. No one seems to have an answer to a fix. Sofar Anycubic appears to be researching these issues. They have a New Year's celebration most of the year and are very slow in responding to my after-sale request.
Same ! Any word back ? Seems like lots of faulty machines - I can only currently print the test models accurately, no other transferred gcode is completing 100 %
I want this printer. But I'm undecided, even the elegoo neptune 4 max is identical. However, some people say that the quality of anycubic is superior (like a resin). My goal is to cosplay. Do you have some advice? The important differences I see between the two printers are: the elegoo has more powerful fans and uses the klipper interface, resumes printing after a power failure and the nozzle reaches 300 degrees. Seen like this it seems that the Elegoo is superior but as I have already said some reviews say that the Anycubic is better in terms of quality. Personally I hope that anycubic can use klipper as an interface (like fluid or mainsail). There are still few reviews though, I want to wait
The Kobra is better because you don't need to adjust like the Elegoo Neptune 4 max, I have the Neptune 3 it is similar to the four without the fast print, but I hate to change it every time I have to print. With the Kobra I don't need to make any adjustments.
The Y axis is not the same. The Kobra has 2 belts and 2 tensioners.
They’re pretty similar. I’d go with the Kobra 2 Max, it seems to have better print quality.
Kobra 2 has: better y axis with dual rails, metal wheels rather than the plastic v wheels on the Neptune 4 max, auto z-offset.
Neptune 4 max is a bit cheaper, Elegoo is said to have better support than Anycubic, uses closer to stock Klipper/fluidd/mainsail, better processor.
@@aminorinternet I've been running this printer for since I purchase it and I haven't had any issues. I've printed cosplay parts and more larger figures, and so far, it's my Second favorite printer. My first is Bambu Labs.
I bought a Neptune max 4, I returned it because the firmware is not working yet and the bed will not level.
I have this model and when I do the auto- level it’s not probing correctly leaving a huge gap between the bed and nozzle but once I send a print to the machine it scrapes the bed with the nozzle, what should I do?
Change the z axis on the screen you have the option to do this manually while it prints.
Mine also did this first time out of the box, scratched like heck out of the bed too. No idea how to fix it, I just messed with the axis and releveled and it seemed to fix that issue.
The correct answer is the Comgrow T500. 500x500x500 build volume, and built like a tank. These are toys.
The volume is slightly larger and the build is better built on the T500 but the price it what got me on the Kobra Max 2
Can you print tpu on this machine?
I am a beginner, but do you think this is a good 3-D printer? To start with
Get something small first. And if you have the money get a bambu.
Ty I just ordered an Ender 3
Yep, Bambu Lab. Awesome printers. I wish I bought a 2nd instead of this nightmare thing.
Ik I bought a kobra 2 max. It came built backwards and it was terrible. I returned it, and I have a Bambu Lab on the way.
Very hit and miss !!
Are there fumes /smell with this printer and how bad is the noise?
So far, I could only get it to print PLA. PLA is no problem. It says it can print ABS, but it cannot. ABS and ASA make toxic fumes. Once I repair it from its self-destructive episode I plan to try ASA. As for noise, the fan is quite loud. But the real fun is the vibration this thing makes. WOW!!! Better have a sturdy workbench!
My sons Kobra 2 Max printer keeps shutting off a few hours into the print. Has done this consistently several times now. Any Ideas on what could be causing this to happen? We put a surge ac power protector on it as well. Thank you.
Check the Power make sure it set to 115 instead of 220
Where is that located?@@Upgradetech
funny, mine froze after I loaded a print....it's happened 2 times already
check the voltage gage
@@UpgradetechThis is really bad advice. If they are in a 230 volt country, they will end up frying their PSU and likely their electronics as well.
Got a small question. I want to get my first 3d printer but dont know witch one I should grab to start.... i saw this one with self leveling and it got my attention.... what do you recomand me.
I recommend a Bambu Labs. The PS1 Model is about the same price as this but not a large printer. It also has a self-leveling, and in the future, you can print in different colors. I recommend this one of the best printers from all my other printers.
I concur. Bambu Lab makes an awesome printer. I have the X1 Carbon and I love it. I also have the AMS. The X1C can print almost any filament. Their software package is top notch. One of my first prints was a life-sized human skull with 7 yr old ABS. It came out perfect. Build volume is 256mmx256mmx256mm, so not as big but it will not destroy itself while you sleep. Kobra 2 Max will. Mine went batshit and totally destroyed itself.
I want to change to a bigger nozzle and looked online and found that MicroSwiss has nozzles that are supposedly compatible with the Kobra 2 Max. My only concern is that they seem like regular volcano nozzles without the small orifice at the tail of the nozzle.
Can someone please help?
Be careful they are not regular nozzles. They are different on this model, and this sucks because it is only available at Anycubic store.
@Upgradetech that's unfortunate. Will contact MicroSwiss and double check with them. Thank you for your reply 🙏🏻
If you haven't checked again they do various nozzles on Amazon and on AliExpress for this printer. No cht clones yet but normal volcano nozzles with the weird bit on the top
Going crazy here!!... Does anyone know how to calibrate the X and Y axis on these machines?. I can't even print a ROUND circle, even on the first layer :(
I know there is an adjustment to pinpoint the nozzel in the center of the tiny little circle behind the print plate... but honestly that is inaccurate. I used to own an old CNC machine back in 2012.. I could simply ask the machine to move 15cm on any axis...I'd move it along side a ruler and see what the difference was..then adjust the software... does this machine have any option like this?.
I’m sorry to hear this, and for some reason people are very unhelpful when it comes to this machine specifically the 2 max - I also just purchased one and it’s really put me behind in my business endeavours… it’s my first, but I’m a pretty technically smart person right off the bat I can tell something is wrong.. printing 5 inches off the model halfway through or after a few layers… like almost a double of the same model connected… and a few other printing issues.
Hello, thanks for the video. I'm interested in this printer, what is the minimum layer height for this machine please ? 0.1mm or 0.05mm ?
0.2mm layer height. You can go a little faster if you go 0.3 layer height
Do you have recovery after a power outage???
Sorry no recovery build in yet I hope they resolve this issue
Ok Thanks, Although thinking about it, when the hot bed cools down...the piece comes loose, so it wouldn't matter a little.
Kobra Max 1.
Вам не нужно выравнивать Kobra Max 2, а на Netptun вы это сделаете, и у меня возникали проблемы каждый раз, когда мне нужна быстрая печать.
1. The stock PSU fan is way too loud
2. Close firmware, you can't even connect to your computer or use octoprint
Those two reasons alone should make you think about another printer.
Super nice printer…for me it was the psu fan was too mutch… i change it and wow…. Silent
Good video, but damn. So much bed touching. I was totally triggered like 5 times. Lol
Power problems? buy a battery backup...
Between the quirky/broken firmware (you cant even put a pause in the gcode to change filament colors or such. The really crappy (aka useless) wifi that only works with their limited spyware slicer, and the NON-STANDARD HOTEND making it so you cant change to a .6 or .8 nozzle for such a huge size is INSANE.
-
BIG misstep by Anycubic, and I am VERY concerned their new multi-color will be even worse.
-
You can get all of those nozzles easily. Just search for Kobra 2 nozzles 😂
Oh my God, I want a multicolour so bad from bambu and right when I’m looking for this after experiencing anycubic disaster they now wanna release multicolour and it’s very confusing for a newbie like me who is very upset with Kobra 2 Max faulty functionality
@@KUNDACHAK I do feel that Anycubic FDM machines are far from ready for newbie adoption. I've been 3d Printing since 2015 or so, and the Kobra Max took me a bit get going. Lets see how well ver3 does
There is zero chance of me continuing to give Anycubic money. I love my Kobra Max 1 but will never put myself in the position of having to deal with their customer service again.
sorry to hear this but I said the same thing after wasting my money on a Creality K1
They take care of me very well, how strange
Same here. Love my Original Kobra Max but it was the Kobra 2 STANDARD version that didn't for me with Anycubic. My Max doesn't resemble a MAX anymore because I have Modded it to death. Love it (NOW). BUT the Customer Support with the Kobra 2 was TRASH. Dealing with 9 to 12 day response time with another 2 week wait on replacement parts AGAIN. NO THANK YOU.
The absence of the power failure recover it’s a deal breaker with 3d printer of this size, every time you print something really big, you are in danger to waste a lot of filament and a lot of time. How is not present?
Uninterruptible power supply.
Losing power on printers is a rare occasion. Unless you don’t live in a 1st world country in which case yeah it’s needed. But for most ppl it’s a greatly unused feature
@@bradenhenderson1332 that’s a feature on a very basic 3d printer, my 6 years old alfawise u30 has it
They mention it will be fixed on the next firmware update. I hope this is true.
@@Upgradetech Sweet to hear that. Now if they will actually do that. Have you used the Wi -Fi ?
