With nearly 700K on the clock this HJ61RG is a wheeler, a tourer, a daily drive and a long term customer of MrLandcruiser. Over the years ,, aside from routine maintenance we have rebuilt the gearbox and transfer case, chopped the rear quarter panels, replaced drive shafts, rebuilt brakes, but the biggest job was a full roof shop/replacement and complete respray.
Don't be fooled by the good looks, this rig is twin locked with Harrop E-Lockers and can wheel with the best of them and spent several years on the road with Roothy doubling as a camera car. Nowadays it is fitted out for touring and camping with the family, there is a Baintech slimline 150AH lithium battery tucked away in the rear quarter panel providing power to the 85L SnoMaster fridge, and a 60L water bladder tucked behind the cargo barrier that is plumed to a water outlet on the rear. The Front Runner roof rack carries MAXTRAX, gas bottle and The Bush Company's 270 XT MAX awning.

Great channel! I dream one day many years from now my hj61 will be built to this quality. Had to move house and sell a 'rust free' busted fj before i could get it swapped. Should've stayed put.
A mate had a 12ht with over 900,000kms. Hope mine lasts that long.

Here's what I'd do to the old girl :
a) Sun visor. After you've had a sun visor you can't stand being in the 4wd without one.
b) I'd put acoustic and thermal insulation in the floor and the roof.
c) It'd be nicer to drive at night in the bush with a decent pair of Hella spotlights. The standard Rally 1000 lights would be good. (we had them on our 61 back in the day)
d) Buy a Sunshine Coast built Trail Blaza fridge.
