    Loved my Elka Stage 3's on my 2015 Outlander max. Worth every dollar!!!! Looking to get a set for my 2021 Defender.

    Sweet!! I just took the air shocks off my 2013 Outlander XMR 1000 and put in Elka stage 3s. Haven't had a chance to rise yet with torn rotator cuff. I kept the compressor on it for airing up tires, air horn and blowing out rad.
    Can't wait for a full review on the ride and handling improvements. Hopefully they help your back.

      @@RobFarrowATVMy Three Heriated disc are always challenging me to find comfort, LMAO Much like a dirt bike standing is preferred, but while driving I've learned to lean toward when hitting a set of WHOOOPS, this spares my back from the Endoes the rear of the machine is doing! LMAO 😎

    On my Commanders neither has air shocks but I know the shocks on the 1000 are shot but not to sure about pulling the trigger on some Elkas or something like those right now they are the plane regular kind

      The Elka's are pretty decent. Someone suggested Walker Evans, a good name but I've never had any experience with them. Good luck with your purchase!

    Another option is to have them air shocks rebuilt. But elka is a great shock. I bet the air system was pretty cool when it was new.

    • @olivei2484
      @olivei2484 Před 3 lety

      I was thinking compressors are just a few diaphrams and o-rings and a bit of fluid. Might be a rebuild kit. Maybe elka has fewer moving part to go wrong.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  Před 3 lety

      They had troubles from the beginning apparently with the air suspension and got rid of it the very next year, so easier to just delete the system instead of messing with it...in my opinion anyway! It was a good idea but it didn't fly!

    Please can I get a 1 year review? Air ride is shot on my 14 xmr, and I’m about to pick up a set.
    Thanks for the video

      After a year they were still great, no issues with them. I deleted all the air stuff and cut out the harness that went to the air stuff. Just make sure you uncheck the BRP buds box before cutting out the harness...I had to reconnect the harness and the air computer to uncheck the box. LOL! Good luck!

    Outside of the error code on the dash is there any reason to disable it? Does the error eventually send it into limp mode? Or is disabling it simply to not have a error message?

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  Před rokem

      Never had an issue with the error code reading on the dash while driving. Just to get rid of it on the dash as it's nice not to see it there. I hooked up the Buds program and unchecked the air suspension box and it removes the error.

  • @indianapolisjones4778

    Anybody try Schrader valves on the air shocks and manually fill them to delete the air suspension that way?

  • @thingstodoinmichiganswg9847

    Totally didn't see how he screwed in the air lines
    But good video all the same ..

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  Před 3 lety

      No air lines to screw back in, just put on normal shocks and deleted the air system. Thanks!
