Bro looks like anything4views
def will be on stock suspension till i save up for an air setup. a lot of my friends run air and they love it. Plus, I just love the "psshhhh" sound. Music to my ears.
Static is better, infinitely superior, but when you live where I live, you need bags to get over potholes and speed bumps
I Leroy Jenkins potholes and bumps
I think what you mean to say is Coilovers are Superior for competitive track and Air suspension is superior for daily use on public roads.
Potholes and speed bumps are not exclusive to where you live. There's also steep driveways and inclines . Turning these daily obstacles into non factors is where air suspension is superior. It's versatility on the fly.
I run both static and air suspension. Each of them serve a purpose and at the end of the day your setup depends greatly on what you plan to do with your vehicle.
@@blkeclipsel2400 what I meant is static is superior, but bags may be needed depending on your circumstances. And yes, maybe there's speed bumps and potholes where you live, but you've probably never seen roads so poorly maintained as the ones in my country, we were done dirty:(
@Victor which is?
@@sethwell2552 basically converts your coilovers to “bags” except it’s not a bag it’s an air cup it goes on top of your coilovers so when you’re driving you’re on coils with the static feeling but when there’s speed bumps you hit a switch on your front goes up about 2 inches and you can clear them a lot easier, kits come with air tank compressor and so on, it’s not recommended to drive “aired up” because it’ll be super bumpy and could damage the cup system itself
You had me at "You air out for the peasants" good video.
Same! 😅👏🏾
I think by spring time. I'll be having an air bag suspension installed for two reasons. The cool factor of course, and also to prevent someone from sliding a jack under my truck while I'm sleeping and stealing my wheels or catalytic converter. As a young kid in the 90s, I've always dreamt of having hydraulics to show off. But I knew a guy who had hydraulics and man that's a really uncomfortable ride. I think air bags would give me all that I want.
I've been running Fortune Autos on my car and I've absolutely loved them, but when I get my next car, I'm kinda leaning towards air just because it's cool and different. Plus the alley to my driveway is dummy steep and I scrape almost every time.
Sounds like air is a no brainer for you good sir. Get airlift 3p or 3h! Worth every penny. I’m thinking about getting it for my daily now. Had it on my 370z for 4 years now, no issues no problems.
@@finnilrebna348 that's what I was thinking. I'm leaning towards the 3h because of the cool auto height stuff when you fire the car up. Either way, I think it'll be fun to do air on my next car.
That’s cool! I’ve been wondering how the fortune auto suspension is!
@@Paper.Power.Politics they're fantastic! Very well built and a lot of adjustment available on them. Just overall a well rounded coilover that you can really rely on.
@@richgrassmann2009 sweet i noticed they also do custom spec! I’m looking for something I can adjust to I can go back and fourth from street/drag set up and track set up
I have both bags and coils, and I personally prefer bags because it feels like your riding on clouds. But these bc coils on my accord are the best I love them and recommend them to everyone!
How much money do you spend maintaining bags? Like how long would bags last me in Michigan with all the salt and weather changes ?
@@demetriixx9964maintenance cost is next to nothing if you buy the correct maintenance components with the kit. Smc check valve with the ability to disassemble and clean yourself ($25.00). Electric tank drain kit. ($65.00)
Water trap (from $25.00 to $55.00)
Maintenance itself is basically free afterwards unless something goes out or gets damaged from being installed incorrectly.
Maintenance mainly consists of purging water from your tank and keeping your system dry. With the electric drain kit all you have to do is push a button. I've had airlift on my daily driver for 2 summers and 2 winters and the only thing I've had to do is disassemble and clean my smc check valves as they can eventually seize. Took me 30 minutes and only had to do once so far. I also had to reconfigure the system which takes maybe 5 minutes while on a flat surface.
Other than that I personally chose to hose down my bags every time I wash my car.
Dude s @demetriixx9964 how do you think threads on coil overs are gonna fair in those same conditions? In those conditions I would just run nice static non-coilover setup like some B8's or something. You can try to clean coat your coils when you first get em and paint the the threads up with anti-sieze but you will absolutely loose that battle, just a question of how fast.
As a reminder, and as stated in the video, heavy duty trucks like long haul tractor/trailer's, firefighter trucks/engines, etc. all run air suspension. Even driving in the northern cold in winter. You'll be fine with basic maintenance, clearing out the condensation from time to time, etc. I would argue they fare better in winter. Because if you're driving this in the winter and snow it's not a garage queen or tack day whip.
I had Airlift system (3/8" dual pump) and winter i had zero issues. In fact the winter and salt seemed to affect my KW V3 worse - at least on surface areas. Of course YMMV
Just the video i was looking for. Was finding dated videos all over youtube about air suspension and wanted something more recent and you guys delivered perfectly.
Very nice tutorial on coilovers and Air. The Coilover/cup thing os intriguing. You have given me a lot to think about.
Glad you mention that they could handle hard driving. I have a Silverado that I dropped. Springs/spindles. Overall like it but rode in a Tahoe with bags and liked the way it felt. I was always worried about bag issues because had a few buddy’s going through bags every 6 months or so. Never wanted to be stranded. Their bag issues were happening in early 2000s so I’m sure it’s been improved. Still 50/50 on the idea but definitely good to hear
That was probably the best explanation I have ever heard, you seem to have quite the passion for all of this. I think I'll be trying your company on my next project.
fax
I absolutely hate scraping so I am an air guy through and through, got the airlift performance 3p kit which i saved up for donkey years for and it is more than worth it.
I've been running airlift in my mk1 TT (same kit that goes in R32 Golf) for a year now and still to this day I'm in love with it, just the convenience of it is incredible. I live in a very snowy place in the winter and the bags allows me to actually use the car, as long as you said... install is key, that's it... mostly. I just ordered some wheels from you guys to match the car (and some nice tires), cant wait.
Though I've never done coilovers, I have done lowering springs, and I mean.... it's not the same but you get what you paid for and I was happy with them.
I have a 02 tt Quattro roadster on coils it’s pretty stiff and a rough ride only thing I hate but idd love to run air
I live in Pennsylvania where the roads are shit and it snowy and icy half the year. After watching this I'm leaning towards financing some bags from you guys so i can get through the snow and still have a lowered car. I'll probably tory to find a shop to install it for me so that everything is routed good and the tanks looks good in the trunk.
KW has a Hydraulic Lift system for their coilovers, but they run about $4000 to $6500 dollars for a complete kit depending if you do front or front+rear axles.
Bags all the way. I live in Michigan, ain't no way I'm keeping my car static. Our roads are already the shittiest in the country 😂
Bro Come to Pakistan then you will know What Shittiest Roads Looks like and people drive Static on that road And scraping hard 😂🙏🏻
Bags are just so expensive if I had the money I would def get air suspension lol
Great video bud, I was looking at my options to throw in my jeep and wanted an unbiased facts only video and you hit that nail on the head.
Most definitely the air cups. You get your car lookin mint, and able to go over bumps, and your still gucci if the bag portion goes out. It don't get much better than that.
What’s the best brands?
Brands?
@@123ABC488 I don't have a clue who's the best, don't got the money to test that lmao. I'd juss rather have cups over bags
I was unaware of the hybrid option! Sweet vid with great insight and info
Was actually thinking about this exact comparison today as a future mod for my car. I’ll probably get mid tier coil overs so I can track it
Yea I'm going Air for the Buff Horse, thanks for the info
Love the cups that you mentioned i got a driveway that is going to be a pain with my build, even stock ride height bottoms out. It sounds like the cups will give me the best of both worlds
I drive nearly 150 miles a day so coilovers are what I use on my is250 and Mazdaspeed 3, there is a reason and it’s not because I don’t like air suspension it’s just that I had air suspension on my is250 and one of them popped and it left me stranded 65 miles away from my house and yea I guess you could say it was my fault I didn’t set them up right or something along those lines but just knowing that coilovers are 1. Easier and cheaper to replace if something happens and 2. Just as good as air suspension if you have dampening and ride height etc. setup correctly, it’s just easier for someone like me to run coilovers.
Thank you everyone for listening to my Ted talk
Coils because I just recently got some bc coils and was easy to install all on my own swear by them 👍🏽🙌🏽
Nice video bro , well explained, cost 💲, fictions and all the things someone needs to know ! Thank you
Air every day of the week. My G37 is on Airlift 3p and I love it. The only advise I have is don’t buy used. Lots of people like to lie about the condition of used air suspension
Thank you bro. I want to get the job done right the first time. A decent price and good brand.
I would choose air cups. I have a Hyundai Accent and I like this car. There is only one problem with it. It's not high enough. Sometimes I need to drive through some rough terrain and I don't want to hit the bottom of my car against rocks and dirt. So I would like to have the possibility to drive on coil overs when doing the high way and drive on air when doing the woods.
Thanks for making it so simple. 16 BRZ thinking air because it sits so dang low. Nice to pull into the gas station and not lose parts.
Probably go Air because I have one car, and I live in a state that gets snow. So on the fly ride height adjustment seems the best bet for me
Just came to say this exact thing.
Imo if you're gonna leave reasonable ground clearance, go coilovers, if you want to drag ass and Don't have a second car, go air.
@@Prestiged_peckthe greatest benefit of air suspension is not having to drag ass while driving. Air suspension can be factory height, lower than factory height, higher than factory height and slammed when parked. All at the push of the button real time.
There are 5 height preset options along with the option to adjust each corner manually.
The only suspension that forces someone to drag ass is coilovers. Until you lift the car and remove each wheel to adjust .
theres a product for every price point. which is awesome. im upgrading to air on my E39
Take pride in your work; versus just “getting it done.”
I work mostly on Freightliner Columbias, semi, air systems are pretty straight forward if you don't over think it
Looking at a grand Cherokee trailhawk. This is usfull and informative thank you
Coils! would be interested in aircups after seeing some reviews on them
Your videos is extremely beneficial 🔥
They make qaulity bags now that replace the springs on coilover setups so you can have all of the perks of something like the BC Racing DS coilovers while having the perks of air as well. We finally live in a world where we can have both options simultaneously without sacrificing major befinits of either setup
Cut springs gang where you at?!
😂🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🏾❤yerrrrrrrrr
😂😂😂
The fortune autos sound interesting, thanks for pointing them out.
well explain bro, thanks.
I love my FA500s! I daily drive my WRX and took it to AutoX for the first time and they performed great!
17 years old first air suspension hyped bru😼🚗🫶🏽
Slapped some pink Godspeeds on my 2000 VW Bug. They’re pretty good.
Probably going to purchase bc’s for the daily soon, and eventually go with C2b bags plus 3p
LOVE THIS GUY
I’m on Bc br’s rn and I love them but I’m abt to go towards those fortune auto bag/coilovers👀
Going to run bags on my 21sti, got a 3p kit for 2200 never used 👍🏻
It depends heavily on what your budget and build is. What ppl fail to do is being informed about what they are getting themselves into. It's more than just slapping on a set of coilovers or air suspension on your car. That's where ppl form the wrong idea about the product and then start to be biased about the product. There is alot of wrong information out there and on the web. It's up to the person weather they can differentiate whats truth or false. #getinformed
So say if I want to get suspension on my car , but it’s a street car and I’ll probably want to hit the track , and the strip. So say I use the car for different things including maybe drifting. How would I be able to go back and fourth through set ups? Or do I have to set up for one specific type of driving? I want to be able to do drag , or go to the track. So what would you recommend?
@@Paper.Power.Politics coil overs!
@@Paper.Power.Politics u should still do ur research though!
@@TheErik1119 I definitely will!! Building a 1000whp mustang ecoboost for street and drag , but also want to be able
To take to track and also maybe drifting. So I want adjustable everything to do that if it’s possible.
Been wanting to lower my 20camry with either or my first time buying a set they both sound bad ass
I am drawn between the two still. I want to drop my SB9T no one make a lowering kit for a B9T but I have seen pictures of one on bags from Russia that looks amazing!
Never ran air. Well atleast not on cars. Obviously my rig is on air. But now that ive recently got a vip car. Time to move into the air ride.. currently the vehicle ( 08 jag xj vandan plas )has its original air suspension but not with levels of dropping it yourself on a press of a button. Therefor somewhere down the line i will definitely be installing some air rides you was talking about.
Great video. In the offroad world, I see lot of critics on the new air suspension of the Defender, what’s your take on this?
One think I think I understood is that when you’re in offroad height, the suspension is stiffer, which doesn’t seem a good idea.
It is stiffer but barely.
Definitely gonna buy a airbag set up.I just need to get more information. As I want the best I could find for my mercedes c l five hundred
wow thats pretty cool.Btw,we are a manufacturer specializing in providing auto parts for luxury car brands, including mercedes,,our main products are air shock absorbers and sth like that, fully new made in China
Dam I am shopping for a kit and I like that u said the choice bi torture that has both
I’ve got some racelands on my mk5 they work well for my purposes, handles and looks better. My buddy has bags on his mk4 the car want lift up rn lol#Maine winter
Air bc in the small town of silvertukey (silverton) lowered cars have maybe 2 roads they can drive on and air allows me to get around more easily
I have a Frs and was wondering if Godspeed Coils were good/reliable , I saw that they were cheap and came with everything a expensive coil would have , any thoughts on it/info about Godspeed
Why haven’t u guys did a video on VIP modular wheels ??
Saving for “air” getting in and out of my driveway with a lip kit will suck on coilovers and my Jeep high altitude has air so I know winter is not a problem
This channel 🔥
Gonna be running BC coilovers BR series with swift spring upgrade. Or just go the DS series. I love canyon driving
On what car? 🤔
@@bugs8054 k20 swapped honda fit
DS would be a worthwhile upgrade as we can tell with that swap you do a fair bit of spirited driving. The BRs a great do it all option, but the DS will offer some more adjustment and a bit of of that track car feel you’re looking for in the twisties
For me I have a air suspension on the rear and coilovers in the front the front is soft and hard just when it's needed the air suspension on the rear is just hard at all air pressures it's just super uncomfortable if you just want to cruze not drive hard but when you drive hard it's hard all of the time so it's good in my experience to make airbags softer you have to run a small tank to add volume to the bag with only half inch or bigger lines anything less than half inch will be hard and not many system are compatible with 1/2 inch lines or you can just run bc racing coilovers DR series with swift springs and air cup's that's what I am starting to run but I am also running tein coilovers EDFC pro system with custom software and it's Tide in with the air cup to add superer suspension control
Pls make a video about the best and most affordable air cup coilovers.
I had one question to touch apon. What will happen if you ride with the aircups up and not down to your ride set height ?
I drive for daily use not performance. I'd just want the lowered look and comfort. That in mind that last one you mentioned looks ideal. Any more info on them or maybe a list of other brands that make something similar? Haven't lowered my car yet but when it comes time to change the shocks I definitely want to upgrade to a good coilover or just a lower suspension setup
You could always go for lowering springs. It’s something FI has talked about a lot too though they focus more on coil overs and air overall.
@@djhero0071 true, but the stock suspension on my car has a lot of body roll, they are too soft. Also lowering springs may not always be a great option, because it can mess with the alignment of the wheels and cause unexpected tire wear. Which I'd like to avoid as much as resonably possible
I was on the wall of which to go to but chose air after a hitting a broken concrete chunk on the road, had I been static it could have cost me my whole bumper and lip
Iv never had anything on air but my friends that have air always have problems with it xD. Iv never had any issues with hks, bc racing or fortune auto coils ;)
H&R Coilovers!!! I will NEVER stray! I’ve installed them in almost every car that I’ve owned… I’ve never been a fan of air suspension and I never will. Reliable, adjustable, and AFFORDABLE! The day I see IMSA , BTCC, or DTM cars using air suspension, then MAYBE I’ll consider it.
Going air for a future show car the 92 Subaru svx LS
im already on coilovers but want bags so im getting bags that replace your coilover springs from c2b suspension
U know I don't know what I had in my colbalt ss supercharger 10 years ago but it had a hydrolic sound when it went over a bump. What is that?
About to order wheels from you guys and airlift from bag riders
My only question to anyone bagged is if I were to go bagged do I have to remember what psi is closer to 0 camber to not wear out my DD tires? Or what should I research?
I already run BC BR coilovers on my 3uz swapped miata drift car, but I hope to find an air ride system for my Cadillac ATS.
Static, because I want to leave plenty of room for a sub install while keeping a practical cargo space. If we had more wagons to choose from, I'd go air.
I’m actually with you, rn I want a sub and bag a 2003 Ford Taurus. A spare tire delete will definitely help.
@@2000minecraftmanUntil you need the spare
Lmao.., that lexus rear bumper cover was like " yo ima chill here later homie✌️" as it drives off dragging its nuts! I simply need that " air out" feature, and up! That way i can have some front splitters and fenders and still go to the shopping center!! I think i need those air cups... I need to know more now
It certainly helps! Sometimes i forget im aired out on my S8 and drag for a few seconds 😅😅😅 -Edgar
Please do a video on the Nissan NX2000
Coilovers for me!😍✅
I live in Canada.... Air suspension doesn't last long here.. Looks the best but maybe if it was a summer only/storage car.
Are Truhart AirPlus bags a good option?
Just curious if anyone has run or is currently running Gecko Racing Coilovers. Looking at them for my 95 Mustang Gt but haven't seen very many reviews or many running them on their ride. They are right around the $900 price point so they don't seem to be built cheap. Just wish I knew more about them before I pull the trigger on purchasing.
Iv got two projects a 1998 civic with coilovers that are stiff as hell. And a 1978 Ford courier mini truck that I wanna explore air suspension with.
COILS.... Bags are for show. Coils are for go..!! Lighter weight, better adjustability. Bags do have a cool factor, but dont belong on anything with performance intentions if you ask me.
I have to settle for possibly just getting lowering springs because of the (really good) computer controlled suspension that came as an option for the car. It just sits a little higher than i want.
I want something for a fun street car. Comfortable enough but still good for handling corners and highways.
Definitely a set of coilovers
Bruh!!! Fortune auto with air hybrid!!!🤯 I’m on lowering springs on my 2013 c250 rn but was already looking at the fortune auto 500 down the line. But now I’m curious is the 500 serious available with that air cup set up??🤔 I will definitely be going for those
Fortune no longer sells the air cup setup. I just got off the phone with them a couple days ago.
i have a Chevrolet Lanos run with same system as BMW e30 and e46 and big companies in the world don't know it so they do not make a kit for it that's why i installed custom made coilover and in the rear E92 coilover , Can i install air suspension or no?
Airbags. I work construction so I go thru dirt and gravel so it makes sense to have something I can lift and drop with one button. Thanks man. Now I just have to save my lunch money! Hahahaha
Thats a LOT of lunch money! I believe in ya tho! 🤝🤝🤝 -Edgar
I wanna eventually be on bags because I already scrape on driveways at the stock height lol
Any1 tried using or modifying high quality ARNOTT style air struts on a Honda Element? They're similar 2the 1's used on Rovers& Benzes.
How about a video comparison on cut spring's vs bag's?
There is no comparison, cut springs are dog water and air suspension is VOSS
I want to bag my 94 accord wagon and I live in Chicago and always hitting my door on the curbs is bags the way to go?
I’d say make sure you get out of you car before you air out
im running airtekk on my 06 3v and havnt had a problem in almost a year
🤝🤝🤝 what else is all done to it? -Edgar
Get both with fortune auto APLS
If you want to ride with negative chamber and destroy your expensive tires, then air shocks are the least of your worry's. Shocks are meant to keep the tire tread touching the ground. You have less than 1/8th sq ft touching rubber to the road, otherwise you might as well put bicycle tires on all four corners. Just make sure the spokes & bearings are heavy enough. I see this next to me on the road, I am getting far away. See you in a ditch on the local news.
DK, ASE master tech since 78.
As much as I’d love to run air I’m gunna be running a set of bc racing on my Z cheaper and easier for me to install.
BC's are a great choice regardless! Probably smoother for that chassis. -Edgar
I have coil overs on my tt, mainly because I don’t want the air tank in my trunk my trunk is about the size of a suitcase and I have a 2.5 gallon meth kit tank in there so I couldn’t put groceries in it anymore 🤷♂️🤦♂️🤣 already a game a skilled Tetris ! But I’m liking those air coil overs that’s an awesome feature! Maybe for my f56 mini jcw since I’m not spending more on a suspension than I bought the car for
Woof i was going to suggest get a pancake tank! But if that space is occupied already then yeah.😂😂😂 Do you have it up on the gallery fam? If not you should! Sounds like a fun build! -Edgar

So bags are great for daily drivers also?… I am interested in financing some from you guys for my mini if that is the case but I dont think I’m confident to install these bad boys myself… the coil overs Im more confident in doing but the bags seem something I wouldn’t wanna do… but I want them if they are good for daily driving cause I don’t like feeling all the potholes and bumps on the road where I live it’s annoying… what do you recommend I get?… also can you leave the bags on one setting for all type of driving say city driving and highway driving?… please let me know what would be the best advice
