It's fun to watch how the Doctor deals with the very concept of River Song in his life, especially this early on. And the expressions that cross his face when River calls him - LOL, he really doesn't have a clue what to do about her yet, does he? 1:40 ;-)
The angel two parter was when i started to really like the 11th doctor, particularly with his interactions with Bob before his death and the way he was caring towards Amy when that angel infected her!
I forgot how annoying Amy was in S5. I chalk it up to her thinking everything was just an adventure, and the Doctor being seemingly invincible. Much preferred her in S6. More grounded, more mature.
Exodus Taris To be honest, I quite liked it. Rose annoyed me with her obsessiveness about the Doctor and whilst I did like Martha, she seemed too fixated on her career. Donna I found funny, but maybe that's because I found Cathrine Tate funny. I liked that Amy wasn't a character in love with the Doctor or in love with being in love. She'd whacked him with a cricket bat, yeah, but "12 years and 4 psychiatrists". He was her imaginary friend and later a sexual object, not a boyfriend. She found it an adventure because she'd gone from being a bored 21 year old in a little village to travelling time and space saving the world and she loved it. She's not grounded because she's not that kind of person - she lives in the moment. Later on, 11 repeatedly tells Clara not to run off to which she replies "I'm not." in a confused tone because he's used to having a spontaneous companion with him who ignored 90% of what he tells them to do.
Even without her arc she's just a better companion - and for the younger crowds she's a vessel to project upon, that childlike curiosity and energy zooming about with no filter, getting more mature as the children watching would too
bro my parents banned me and my siblings from watching doctor who for a while because i was so scared of the angels after this episode,my siblings were trying to tell me it wasn’t real but I didn’t quite grasp the concept of fiction at the age of 6 so I thought everything I saw was real😂😂😂
The fact the doctor says how deadly they are and That Amy should have waited in the Tardis ... Spoilers for The angels take Manhattan - warning then two certain character death’s happen in The Angels Take Manhattan ... coincidence? Did Moffat Know then? Yes, at the moment there is a lot of time on my hands as are others, and yes I am probably reading into this too much😂
Impossible image of and angel is an angel meaning any image would turn to stone and anytime u try to see the truth they become stone and not likely to survive anyway to record the image and even if u did the angel drawn or picture taken would come to life or description could be taken at any way
2:49 Love this moment, it's presented so organically you'd almost have to wonder if it's a blooper they managed to edit into the scene.
dark gob It is.
They confirmed that Matt did it by accident and just continued; the other actresses had to stop themselves from laughing😂🤣
@@NileSWPhotography I love that you can see their reactions as well, Karen barely manages to check herself and Alex has to clench her jaw lol
@@stevenbaines8076 😂😂😂😂 yeah it’s hilarious
Father Octavian was definitely one of my favourite side characters in Season 5 if not all of Doctor Who
Father Octavian was the 51st Century Lethbridge-Stewart.
Ben Straughan he's a good hand of the Queen as well.
Amy- “is River Song your wife?”
The Doctor- “we’ll get into that next season”

Amy: She's Mrs. Doctor from the future isn't she?
Me: Oh, it's much more that...
Holy crap, 2:26, look to the right! It's River's helmet from her debut episodes! 😃
One of the best episodes in series 5 (in my opinion)

I love the way she talks to him. She doesn’t allow him to take himself too seriously.
its called a character arc, buddy
You get it

This episode is still to this day one of the scariest pieces of media I've consumed.

Under rated episode
Obviously.
not by me :-)
I wonder if Father Octavian is a reference to the 10th Doctor comic where the 10th Doctor goes back in time and fights then Weeping Angels.
How exactly would that be a reference?
Don't turn your back!
It’s like I’m watching David Attenborough trying to act in a doctor who episode
A group of advanced soldiers, even with military grade gear from the vietnam war, seismic detonator daisy chain claymore job done sit and wait
is that jorah mormont?
Matthew Stringer yea
Wow amy got it right.
I quite liked this episode
Unpopular opinion: I prefer this two-parter to Blink.
Not unpopular. Some people agree, like I do!
Nah sorry I disagree.
This two parter wins out for the existence of the lines
"We have no need of comfy chairs"
"I made him say comfy chairs"
Nbc
I liked both, don't know why people give the angels so much shit every time they're on screen after Blink
is river song your wife mothers intuition

The Church has moved on? Did I hear "51st Century'? Then that means the Warhammer 40K timeline never happened, good.
HERACY! YOU SHALL DIE! - Blood Angel 217
The 51st century are years starting from 5000 onward. The 41st millennium are years starting 40,000 onward.

I really don't like Amy. And to be fair, I love Karen Gillen, just not as Amy.
nightowl Why, she feel more natural that Clara.
nightowl Same I couldn't give a shite about her, she wasn't as developed as a character compared to Rose, Martha and Donna.
Mayo Tango131 - very true. I'd say their characters are equally bland, however Amy has a better story so, yeah, I'd take Amy over Clara anyday.
Crash Bandicoot Really? Watch Vampires of Venice, an later, The Power of Three to see his character develoment.
nightowl Clara is the bland, Amy is a wild and insane Mary Jane Watson.
Amy is so annoying in this episode
