Mould 46 - Revealing Mystery Moulds I found on Gumtree

- This is the series where I reveal what is inside these pottery moulds I found on Gumtree.
The story goes, I found a listing on gumtree for pottery stuff. When I arrived the seller said 'I have all these pottery moulds would you like them as well?' and I said 'why not'. On the way home, I had the brain child to do a social media video series revealing what each mould is.
The mystery is in the fact that I had no idea what I had said yes to, some of the moulds are labelled and easy to tell but some of them are a little more difficult. The beauty is that all of the plaster moulds surprise you no matter the presentation of labels, titles or identifiable surface inside.
So come join me as I dive into this series and share the mould fun. I would love to hear any information you may have on the moulds and to let me know any stories you have that the moulds remind you of in the comments.

When I was a kid I used to go to ceramics class (you know the one where you could choose a bisque piece and paint it) and I defiantly painted these doggies!!! What a rush of nostalgia and a lost memory! hah!
WHAT! Thats amazing! It would be so cool if you could do it again one day ;) maybe with a DIY at home kit of some sort!
I did as well! I used to do ceramics with my great grandma and when I was about 4 I painted one of these dogs as my first piece. He’s purple with blue spots.
Me too! I painted two of thwm to look like my dogs I had at the time.
I'm so sorry that your car was stolen, hopefully it's recovered in one piece or you have enough insurance to get it replaced.
That doggo mould is rather cute. I can imagine that your antiquing method of glazing them would look really nice with the fur texture, if you have the time and desire to revisit this mould in the future.
I'm got Clifford vibes once they were painted, especially with the pink one. My favourite was the donut doggie, but they are all so sweet ❤
SO DID I! As soon as the colour was on, I didn't see it when they were white but when I had painted them they looked like Clifford!

I love your channel because you aren't the typical CZcamsr. I love watching your successes, but it is also interesting to watch things that don't quite turn out right, and to see how you overcome these challenges and use your creativity to make the best of the situation. Its really inspiring!. I loved how you painted up these dogs. So bright and beautiful!. and So unique.
I saw the top if this mold, and thought, "that looks like the top of the puppy mold I have. that would be funny, if it is" and then it turned out that it was the exact same mold!
I had fairy bread at Bible camp growing up.. we had missionaries from Australia come in one night and that was the treat they brought to share with everyone. It's still one of my favorite memories from camp, Thanks for the reminder :)

Thank you so much! I actually thought about not doing it this week. It was really on the cards. But I haven't done anything all week other than drive around looking for my car and seeking evidence and CCTV of it. I thought I needed a break from all that so thats why I ended up doing the reveal in the end! Thank you so much! I am so grateful for your support and this whole community!

This made my heart hurt. I was raised by my great grandma til dementia took over her. We would pour ceramics and paint them. She had a whole 50x50 warehouse full up shelves of moulds. I instantly subscribed and liked

I love the Scioto hand craft puppies mold. Been working with them for well over a decade. Scioto has too many wonderful ceramic molds to name and my mom and we each have a decades long collection of molds from when she first started casting in the late 60's. I started at 6yrs old in the 70's and still hand casting and handpainting today 😊. The slip cast formula from our distributor had changed and has gotten more expensive but it pours cleaner and the pieces (animals, our famous thin cast x-mas bulbs & small pots) are sturdier after kiln fire.

My dad used to make me a piece of bread with margarine and sugar on it snack. I think it’s the Americanized fairy bread! Very delicious though, brings back great nostalgia!
Oh my gosh they are adorable there definitely a favorite. We also have fairy bread in New Zealand my boys also love it.
Have you considered compressed air to loosen the molds and the pieces in the molds? I worked as a mold pourer and general helper in a shop and we used a compressor tank and air wand to help release objects and help clean the molds.
No idea why the CZcams algorithm suggested this video, but I'm glad it did. Cuteness max. Awesome work. By the way, triangle fairy bread is indeed the correct way. It doesn't taste the same when done in rectangles or squares.

Funny I grew up in Columbus Ohio!! Scioto ceramics is where my mom used to get all of her ceramic supplies, until the store front closed:( so awesome to see all the molds again!!
My grade school neighbor and sitter ran her own ceramic studio. We'd often go to Scioto to the same mold factory that these puppies came from. I'd get to pick one mold to made from start to finish. My fave one was Garfield. Small world!

Those are super cute! My godmother did ceramics and had thousands of molds. I loved working them with her. Those would make super cute dalmatian puppies especially with a glaze that pops out spots.

I know you use that dotting tool that is made for clay but it always reminds me of nail dotting tools. They are similar to your tool but they come in more shapes and sizes. Have you ever tried/would you ever try using those in your art?

You have to try it! Fresh bread, butter is best, cover it in sprinkles or 100s and 1000s! Cut into triangles, rectangle cuts do impact the taste! And then go for it!

Fairy bread is a thing in New Zealand, too. I have lived here for four years and I've never tried them before, but your video inspired me to try :-D I can see the appeal, haha, but my wholemeal bread with lin seeds wasn't the greatest, hahaha.

Sucks about your car. Had mine stolen at the end of July, it really sucks. At least insurance covered us and the car was eventually recovered. Hope yours gets found too. Also, the puppies are so cute!

I think fairy bread might be a slight “ripoff” of Hagelslag, which are dutch chocolate or “fruit” sugar sprinkles made specifically to go on bread, they’re not like the cake sprinkles most countries have at all and they’re so delicious 🤤
Definitely one of my fave toppings for bread.
If you have a retailer somewhere that sells dutch food items definitely check it out!!
