This was very useful information! Which application did you use to drop colours? Also I have the 60s polychromos.... which luminance do you use and are they necessary?
I was using photoshop CS8 to get the colors from the reference photos, and I only have those few luminance pencils as you saw in the video. The colors are raw umber 50%, steel grey, and payne's grey 30%, I also have a white and black luminance as well. They can save you time, but aren't really necessary if you understand how to mix colors well. Luminance are wax based, so they are useful for going over an area that you want more opaque than transparent. I have a video that will be out in a few weeks, that is on how to mix colors with colored pencils, and I will be talking about some of the things in this video more in depth. :)
