Question: Will Whatcom County and Washington State finally do something about the Nooksack river in Everson ? I know that climate change really feeds in to Gov. Jay Inslee's activist narrative right now but maybe he might want to consider actually being the governor of the people of Washington state and putting his temper tantrum politics aside. I realize that these are just red counties and therefore expandable to the governor but the hard truth is this has been virtually ignored since the '90 flood. There was a subsequent 11 year study after that flood that really did nothing. Maybe the state and county should step up and fix their problem.

      @@JamesJablonski2008 Howdy,
      As a Hebrew:
      Leviticus 19
When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.”
      Exodus 23:9
When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not wrong him. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as one of your citizens; you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. (Leviticus 19:33-34)
      As a Christian:
      Matthew chapter 5
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.
The Apostle Peter and the Gentiles:
      Acts 10
And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
      They talked for a while...verses 27--33
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said,
Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.

When the city, county, and state planners zoned this area for homes and business and the infrastructure, did they know they were zoning a flood plain for construction? Did they review the USGS report for flood potential in this area? Well of course they did! The City and County for sure knew they were zoning an active flood plain for homes and businesses. They for sure knew it was just a matter of time until the Next flood - and here it is, ANOTHER flood in the exact same area! Will we ever learn -LOL, it seems No, we have not and will not ever learn. I'll bet after the flood waters recede, they will re-build, and even build MORE new homes and businesses in this flood plain.
