Sumas, WA was the sight of major river flooding leading to hundreds of people needed rescuing. Video includes rescues, boats with community help, Nooksack River in major flood stage and other various water issues.
Sumas, WA sits on the border with Abbottsford, British Columbia and is in the far PNW of Washington State.

I'm in Mount Vernon just a few streets from downtown. Thankfully the walls held and downtown didn't flood.

I live in University Place Washington and let me tell you our roads are a mess. As soon as they get things cleaned up we get another storm with wind and pounding rain come through. Please stay safe out there friends
Yes, the Sumas is affecting British Columbia as well.

There just has been an evacuation order for the Sumas Prarie, Canadian side as I assume the American side also , But on the Canadian side it is from the border , Abbotsford all the way to Chilliwack the whole low land stretch of highway
Floods destroy so much of the natural habitat for salmon, it has long reaching devastation to the already declining stocks.
May the floods wash the refuse away

We havent had one this bad for 30 years.
Be careful in flood water, lots of hidden logs and debris.

Except for this happens every 20 years or so. It’s nothing new. We’re in a solar minimum that’s it.
It really has to do with over development and poor drainage.
Climate change has always been a thing… it’s whether man is causing it or not…that would be a not.
Climate change? Please! You obviously don't live in this area. 8 inches of rain in 24 hrs will flood anything anywhere. Besides it rains alot here and has always been that way. Even before "global warming"

Wtf is wrong with you. I’m living here while this is happening and my grandparents have had to evacuate and has lost all their photo albums from years ago and lots of other things. This is very real and very scary
