@@cube22111 Damn, if 7 years ago, someone told me we'd be getting a new HL game, I'd think they were insane.
The portal gun replica that you have is Atlasâ from the Portal 2 Co-op mode.
In this mode Atlasâ portal gun has two blue stripes on it, and it shoots light blue and dark blue/purple portals. But your replica shoots the normal orange and blue portals.
I know this is a 4 year old comment, but I just had to reply.
He has the customizable portal gun. NECA had made regular, atlas, peabody, and customizable ones that could switch between the co-op and single player colors with strips that could be magnetically held onto the portal gun.
So it's just a bit of an aesthetic thing.

One idea I'd like to see is for NECA to make a version of this where the orange translucent parts covering the lights are removable and replaceable with one of three options: Light blue for the powered-up Gravity Gun and green and magenta for the other two varieties of Xen crystal that we see in the games. Because IDK about anyone else but I like green and if I made my own Gravity Gun I would absolutely use a green crystal instead of an orange one.

I've had this thing since it came out, and Im stupid and left the batteries in since then, and one day it didnt turn on and a battery had popped inside and I was sure it was dead. I put in new batteries and it was still dead. I looked up a review and found yours, and that little note about the contact tab saved me! It turned back on with new batteries :)
I want this but a PIP-BOY instead, but this good of quality.
I should try to 3D print a PIP-BOY and then finish it with sand paper and a really nice paint job and slide in my iPhone.

Since the light is pretty bright it would be awesome to have it permanently on as a show piece, I wonder if there is a way where you can modify the prop so you can use a power plug instead of batteries
If he were willing to pop it open it wouldn't be terribly difficult. Since this is 3 C batteries it runs on 4.5v but most devices are tolerant of a little bit over what they recommend. He could probably get away with putting a usb plug on it and just run it off a standard usb wall adapter.
It would be trivial to make a fake battery pack that had an A/C adapter. Maybe a future #JerryRigged episode in the works.

gotta admit, I like the gravity gun for it's price. I know I'm a price fanatic, but from using the gravity gun myself (my friend bought it), it's really good quality :) honestly though, the box reminds me of the steel battalion box from the original xbox with that giant controller.

Did you get a stand for the Portal gun? I saw the gun in a shop near me and they where selling the stand for about half the price of the gun it's self (I thought it was quite expensive for a stand).

Question: I've been thinking about getting a SodaStream, and I'm wondering if you are still using yours and what you think of it now? I know the CO2 canisters from the manufacturer are absurdly expensive, but have discovered you can get an adapter and use paintball canisters that only cost a couple of bucks to refill. I imagine you already know this, have you tried it? (I looked for your followup video, but couldn't find it.)

This is the first and probably only comment i'll write on youtube. I just wanted to take a few minutes out of the day to just let you know how amazing you, your family, and your channel is to me. I recently subscribed to you because for the first time possibly ever I found a guy who is real. You know you have your guys out on youtube who have great content and while I'm not saying their content is bad or unimpressive, it doesn't inspire like your work does. I can't tell you how many times I'll sit and research 3D printing, or audiophile related information or something i'd never think to look into, all due to the spark of curiosity your videos ignite in myself and I'm in many others. I sit and look at your man cave from the other end of the screen and go wow, I hope that one day I can set myself up a crazy bitching man cave too! Its just nice to see a person who is always happy, and always exploring new things to get into, and better yet you bring us along for the ride. Don't ever stop being true to yourself or this channel.
